Please remember I am a Professor and that is not how it goes....where you say something without support...and your limited experiences do not qualify you to characterize an entire race

You're a professor? Yeah, right. Not a very smart one are you?

Trump said the election is rigged so how is it possible for him to win? The real question is why should Trump followers even bother to go out and vote when they are helpless to stop Hillary's election?

I guess you haven't been paying much attention? The huge voter turn out in several states, most being Trump supporters? Many quiet voters, who have not been polled, and many who haven't voted in years are coming out in droves to vote for Trump. Wait and see. And, yes, Trump has to overcome a rigged system and a corrupt media and a corrupt Hillary campaign - but he will.

The question is straightforward. I think Trump is going to lose. What do you think conservative and reactionary Republicans like the majority of the folks in this forum will do ? How will you react ? Will conservative and reactionary Republicans resign themselves to accepting the results of the election ? Or will they try to foment some kind of revolution ?

If Trump loses, America is finished. We all lose. America will become just another failed socialist state with higher taxes, a shrinking economy, more deficit spending, and a smaller inept military. The gap between the rich and poor will widen further, with the middle class shrinking to eventually only two classes of people - the rich and the poor who will be enslaved to the Democrat entitlement plantation. You will see more protests, more uprisings, more Bundy style stand offs, more terrorist attacks, more racial riots, etc. Oh, and, you will see one Hillary scandal after another, because she thinks she can get away with anything, that she is above the law.

For you Clinton supporters out there who are naive enough to think that Hillary will turn this economy around had better go back to school and take a course in macro-economics. Hillary said she will turn the economy over to Bill, so I have to ask "what major jobs bill or economic stimulus plan did Bill ever pass?" Answer: he didn't. He rode in on the coat tails of Reagan and HW Bush, an economy that was starting to take off - remember the Dot Com bubble? Bill even stated that his immediate tax increase scared the daylights out of him because he thought he just screwed the economy. Fortunately, the economic boom was able to absorb it. Bill was just lucky, a president at the right time in history. And, he did sign the American economy buster NAFTA into law. Besides, it's a lie anyway, Hillary is not about to turn anything over to Bill, period.

Trump may not make a great president, no one knows. But, at least America will have a chance with him in the White House. With Hillary, we have no chance, and could very likely end up in WWIII by having such an untrustworthy, dishonest, unstable, old hag with a bad temper with her fingers on the nuke buttons. And, I haven't even addressed her ill health, which will worsen with time.

I found this on the web.

************************

Wednesday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Mark Levin excoriated the Fox News Channel and “The Kelly File” host Megyn Kelly days after Kelly and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, a surrogate for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, had a heated exchange over accusations Trump was a “sexual predator.”

Levin declared Fox News was “imploding” and called Kelly “out of control.”

“I think it is fair to say the Fox News Channel is imploding,” Levin said. “I think it is fair to say the Murdoch boys, both of whom are liberals are slowly but surely ruining that network, not that I’m a Roger Ailes fan. I’m just saying it is quite obvious. Their top star is Megyn Kelly. Megyn Kelly is out of control. Megyn Kelly pretends to represent women. I want you all to go listen to her 2010 interview on ‘The Howard Stern Show.’”

Levin recalled Kelly’s dust-up with Trump at the beginning of the GOP primary, which she went after Trump for some of the things he had said about women at the first primary debate.

“At the beginning of the Republican primary, she set a fuse,” he added. “She was so obsessed with Rosie O’Donnell and Donald Trump and things that were said back and forth, she set the stage for what became month after month of vicious personal, nasty attacks. And she’s doing it again.”

He added Kelly’s remarks on Stern’s radio show disqualified her to be a leader of “some feminist movement.”

“So she’s not some leader of some feminist movement,” he said. “She’s hardly in a position to be representing anybody.”

Levin added he sees Kelly with her eye on “a bigger forum.”

“She is auditioning, in my opinion, for a bigger forum,” he added. “That’s not exactly a state secret, whether it’s ‘Good Morning America’ or the ‘Today Show’ or even CNN — and a huge payday. Fine. But please don’t pretend you’re a journalist. And if this is the future of Fox, then Fox will be dead because this kind of National Enquirer stuff dressed up as journalism doesn’t fly.”

Levin also criticized Shep Smith of the network, which he called a “sarcastic, snarky liberal.”

A Short History of Progressive-ism

An essay by Nick Nickelson

To understand what the definition of progressive-ism is we need to turn once again to history.  Step back with me to the curtain raiser, the founding convention of the peoples party -better known as the Populist Party-in 1892.
Progressive-ism rose from this movement in response to the inequities and inequality of the industrial revolution, witch was creating a vast increase in the growth and wealth of giant corporations, the growth of the railroads and the corruption of Government by these forces.  It was a political movement that addressed the  issues of the modernization of American civilization.

Corporatist practically owned and controlled government.  An 1886 supreme court ruled that corporations held the same rights  as an individual (Santa Clara county vs. Southern Pacific Railroad) The Bush appointees to the SCOTUS along with the other conservatives recently ruled corporations could spend all they wanted to affect  government legislation that would favor their interests.  The Senate by the late 19th century had come to be regarded as the millionaires old boy's club.   The gilded age was concentrating  vast wealth in the hands of a few families such as the Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Morgan and Carnegie.    While the masses (working class) lived in virtual poverty.  The ruling class used Darwin's recent theories to justify the rise of ruthless capitalism that flourished in the late 1800's early 1900's

The so called robber barons concluded that their behavior was justified as the natural law of survival of the fittest and was the inevitable outcome of history, Darwinism helped to justify not only the ruthless exploits of communists, but also the ruthless practices of capitalist monopolist such as Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller.   Carnegie's conclusions were best summarized  when he said, " the law of competition, be it benign or not, is here, we cannot evade it; no substitutes for it have been found; and while the law maybe sometimes hard for the  individual, it is best for the race, because it ensures the survival of the fittest in every department (quoted in Hsu, 1986 p. 10 ) John D. Rockefeller once said that the growth of a large business is merely survival of the fittest.  The working out of the law of nature ( Gent 1902 page 29)
Life for most  working people at the turn of the 20th century was nasty brutish and short.  The Meatpacking industry was rife with filth and disease, described by Upton Sinclair in his book "The Jungle "  (1906)      Snake oil salesmen were hawking medicinal products that were supposed to be good for what ailed you but were filled with alcohol  cocaine and who knows what else.

The Tenants of the lower east side of New York was the most densely populated place on earth.  Three story flats held as many as three families living on each floor with out houses that oozed sewage into the streets and into piles of horse manure three feet high.  40 % of the occupants died from disease.  The natural environment was being raped and pillaged by corporations for profit and with little regard for the consequences, and no regard for future generations.

Extraordinary times though has  a way of producing extraordinary men and into the breached stepped progressive minded men such as John Muir the great naturalist, Jacob Riis, Danish immigrant, resident of the lower East side,  author and illustrator of " How The Other Half Lives"  and Upton Sinclair author of "The Jungle" an expose of the filth and disease ridden Chicago meat packing industry.   These early progressives had great influence on politicians such as Theodore Roosevelt, Robert La Follette, Herbert Hoover,  William Jennings Bryan, Woodrow Wilson, and Al Smith.

Hiram Johnson a liberal Republican who became governor of California in 1910 was instrumental in wresting control of the state government from the Southern Pacific Railroad and launching California's progressive era that lasted until 1966 when the conservative Ronald Reagan was elected governor and ended California's golden progressive era.
There is nothing idealized or  romantic about the difference between a society  who's arrangements roughly give every one a seat at the table and a slice of the pie and one who's institutions have been converted into a stupendous fraud.  That difference can be the difference between democracy and oligarchy.   Look at our history.  The progressive movement that started in the late 19th century, remade the American experience piece by piece until it peaked in the last third of the 20th century.
A Short History of Progressive-ism br br An essa... (show quote)

Progressive-ism is just a new name for socialism. You can blow all the smoke you want, but it is nothing but socialism. The so-called Progressives that have taken over the Democrat Party are radical socialists leaning towards communists. They no longer stand for the poor, the working blue collar guy, the middle class, or small businesses. The new radical Democrat Party now stands for the 1-percenters, the fat cats on Wall Street, big Corporations, big banks, and will even take money from foreign interests, especially Saudi Arabia, Qatar, etc.

Armed militants who took over a federal building and wildlife refuge in Oregon in a deadly, 41-day standoff with authorities were acquitted of all charges Thursday.

The seven anti-government militia members, led by brothers Ammon and Ryan Bundy, were found not guilty of conspiracy and weapons charges in the standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife refuge.

An eighth occupier, LaVoy Finicum, was fatally shot by police during the standoff.

After the verdict, court officers had to tackle, tase and hold Ammon defense lawyer Marcus Mumford when he repeatedly yelled that his client must be released immediately. Mumford himself was freed hours later.

The judge said Ammon could not be released because he still faces charges in Nevada stemming from an armed standoff with the feds at dad Cliven Bundy’s ranch two years ago.

An attorney for another defendant was shocked.

“It’s stunning. It’s a stunning victory for the defense,” said Robert Salisbury, attorney for defendant Jeff Banta. “I’m speechless.”

The defendants had maintained that the occupation was an act of civil disobedience inspired by religion and that the weapons they brought onto federal grounds were vital for protection against the government.

“This is a tremendous victory for rural America,” defendant Neil Wampler said outside court.

“It is a well-deserved, overwhelming defeat for a corrupt and predatory federal government.”

Another defendant, who was not in the courtroom due to a medical condition, shed tears of joy when told of the verdict.

“It’s wonderful — the holy spirit has been listening to our prayers,” Ken Medenbach told USA Today. “The people have spoken.”

The standoff began on Jan. 2 and lasted nearly six weeks, bringing new attention to the “Sagebrush rebellion,” a long-running dispute over control of federal lands in the West.

Supporters of the militia rejoiced outside the courtroom in Portland, where fellow occupier Brand Thornton held up a ram’s horn in celebration.

The US attorney in Oregon issued a statement defending the decision to bring charges.

“We strongly believe that this case needed to be brought before a court, publicly tried and decided by a jury,” the statement from Billy J. Williams read.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said, “The occupation of the Malheur refuge by outsiders did not reflect the Oregon way of respectfully working together to resolve differences.

“I appreciate the due diligence of our federal partners and stand with the communities of Harney County and residents of Burns,” she said, referring to the location of the occupation

An artificial intelligence (AI) system that correctly predicted the last three U.S. presidential elections puts Republican nominee Donald Trump ahead of Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House.

MogIA was developed by Sanjiv Rai, the founder of Indian start-up Genic.ai. It takes in 20 million data points from public platforms including Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube in the U.S. and then analyzes the information to create predictions.

The AI system was created in 2004, so it has been getting smarter all the time. It had already correctly predicted the results of the Democrat and Republican Primaries.

Data such as engagement with tweets or Facebook Live videos have been taken into account. The result is that Trump has overtaken the engagement numbers of Barack Obama's peak in 2008 – the year he came into power – by 25 percent.

Rai said that his AI system shows that candidate in each election who had leading engagement data ended up winning the elections.

"If Trump loses, it will defy the data trend for the first time in the last 12 years since Internet engagement began in full earnest," Rai wrote in a report sent to CNBC.

Currently most national polls put Clinton and the Democrats ahead by a strong margin. Rai said his data shows that Clinton should not get complacent.

But the entrepreneur admitted that there were limitations to the data in that sentiment around social media posts is difficult for the system to analyze. Just because somebody engages with a Trump tweet, it doesn't mean that they support him. Also there are currently more people on social media than there were in the three previous presidential elections.

"If you look at the primaries, in the primaries, there were immense amount of negative conversations that happen with regards to Trump. However, when these conversations started picking up pace, in the final days, it meant a huge game opening for Trump and he won the Primaries with a good margin," Rai told CNBC in a phone interview.

Using social media to predict outcomes of elections has become increasingly popular because of the amount of data available publically. In September, Nick Beauchamp, an assistant professor of political science at Northeastern University, published a paper about his experiment applying AI to more than 100 million tweets in the 2012 election. He found that this closely mirrored the results seen in state-level polling.

"These results provide not just a tool for generating surveylike data, but also a method for investigating how what people say and think reflects, and perhaps even affects, their vote intentions," Beauchamp said.

Rai said that his system would be improved by more granular data. He said that If Google was to give him access to the unique internet addresses assigned to each digital device, then he could collect data on exactly what people were thinking. For example, Rai said if someone was searching for a YouTube video on how to vote, then looked for a video on how to vote for Trump, this could give the AI a good idea of the voter's intention. He added that there would be no privacy concerns as these internet addresses would be anonymized.

"Granularity of data will determine progressively lesser bias despite the weightage of negative or positive conversations," Rai wrote in his report, explaining how to improve the system.

MogIA is based on Mogli, the child from Rudyard Kipling's novel "Jungle Book". Rai said this is because his AI model learns from the environment.

"While most algorithms suffer from programmers/developer's biases, MoglA aims at learning from her environment, developing her own rules at the policy layer and develop expert systems without discarding any data," Rai said.

I thought this forum was for adults. I guess I was wrong? You never answered my question about how far you got in school, but I can see by your childish replies that it wasn't very far.

Trump is not a communist, but if you knew how to do research you would know that Clinton is a communist. Just read her college thesis. You don't even know what the word "fascist" means. Trump doesn't pay any taxes? Maybe you should write your Congressman and Senators and tell them to change the tax laws. Trump used the same deduction the Clintons have used as well as many of their rich friends. Sexual predator? Hasn't been proven, but we do know that Hillary covered for one, Bill. And, she made the victims lives miserable.
