Dr Dross, In any "Normal" situation, I would agree with your stance regarding the principled dissent of those Democrats who refuse to attend, after all, as my User name in this forum may indicate, I'm a Patriot first and foremost. I watched the inauguration of our last disputed President, (W), even though I had doubts about his intellect, and his legitimacy. I didn't like, or vote for Nixon or Reagan either, and, although I hated Reagan when he was my Governor in California, I still gave him the respect due the Office of President.
This situation is totally a different. Trump bullied and lied his way to the nomination, defeating 16 other candidates, most of which were more qualified, smarter where it counts, and would have been palatable, if not beloved, to most Voters. Even if the Russians hadn't stuck their sneaky, drunken heads into the General Election, there may have been enough racists, bigots, misogynistic idiots too elect Trump, but he still wouldn't be legitimate in my book. I stand with Rep. John Lewis, and will resist Trump's pack of Alt. Right / White Supremacists scum until the inevitable Impeachment takes place, then I'll switch to defeating Messianic Mike Pence. Resisting 'til the End of this Coup attempt !
