You are the one that has been duped Richard...look at all the evidence, not only the Cherry Picked evidence from the Green's...you will find that climate has been changing since the beginning. Man has nothing to do with it. It is not cause and effect. It, climate change is a naturally occurring thing. We can not do anything about. We (man) did not cause it and we cannot change it. The "Climate Change Crises" is nothing but a tax scam on the producers of wealth in this system we call home. Deniers -- Proof They Have Been Duped
Just thought all you climate change/global warming deniers should see this. It is fairly convincing proof you've been duped and swallowed industry's line. -- Richard94611

America has been duped on climate change
By Robert Brulle January 6
Robert Brulle is a professor of sociology and environmental science at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He is co-editor of Climate Change and Society: Sociological Perspectives.
Future generations will look back on our tepid response to global climate disruption and wonder why we did not act sooner and more aggressively. Climate change will adversely impact present and future generations, as well as all species on Earth. Our moral obligation to protect life requires us to act.
Yet even after the recently completed United Nations climate conference, we are still on track for dangerous levels of climate change. Why havent we acted sooner or more aggressively? One answer can be found in the split over the veracity of climate science.
[Other perspectives: Inaction on global warming is as reckless as drunken driving]
Recent scholarship documents the coordinated efforts of conservative foundations and fossil fuel corporations to promote this uncertainty. Amplified by conservative media, this campaign of disinformation and omission has significantly altered the nature of the public debate and led to political polarization around the issue, making meaningful legislative action nearly impossible.
These findings are supported by recent investigative news reports, which show that since the 1970s, top executives and scientists in the fossil fuel industry have been well aware of the evidence that their products amplified climate-warming emissions. They conducted their own extensive research on the topic and participated in ongoing scientific discussions. The American Petroleum Institute, an industry trade group, even circulated the results to its members. By 1978, a senior executive at ExxonMobil proposed creating a worldwide CO2 in the Atmosphere research and development program to determine an appropriate response.
Unfortunately, that path wasnt taken. Instead, in 1989, a group of fossil fuel corporations, utilities and automobile manufacturers banded together to form the Global Climate Coalition. This group worked to ensure that the Kyoto Protocol, an international agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions, was not adopted by the United States. In public statements, the Global Climate Coalition continued to deny that global warming was occurring and emphasized the uncertainty of climate science.
The spreading of misinformation continued. In 1998, API, Exxon, Chevron, Southern Co. and various conservative think tanks initiated a public relations campaign, the goal of which was to ensure that the recognition of uncertainties (of climate science) becomes part of the conventional wisdom.'
While that coalition disbanded in 2001, ExxonMobil reportedly continued to quietly funnel climate misinformation through skeptic think tanks, such as the Heartland Institute, until 2006, when its funding was exposed. The company the nations largest and wealthiest continues to work with the American Legislative Exchange Council, a so-called public-private partnership of corporations and conservative legislators, to block climate change policies.
For years, ExxonMobil had been a participant in public efforts to sow doubt about climate change. Yet at at the same time, the corporation was at the leading edge of climate science and its executives were well informed regarding the scientific consensus on climate change. This allegedly deceitful conduct has generated public outrage and recently led New Yorks attorney general to initiate an investigation into whether ExxonMobil has misled the public and investors about the risks of climate change.
While important, these legal proceedings cannot fully address the larger moral issues of corporate social and political responsibility. Just as Congress investigated the efforts of the tobacco industry to dupe the public into believing its products were harmless, we need a full and open inquiry into the conduct of ExxonMobil and the other institutions whose misinformation campaigns about science have delayed our efforts to address climate change.
The central concern here is the moral integrity of the public sphere. The Declaration of Independence says the legitimacy of government is based on the consent of the governed. But when vested interests with outsize economic and cultural power distort the public debate by introducing falsehoods, the integrity of our deliberations is compromised.
Such seems the case today when we consider the fossil fuel industrys role in distorting discourse on the urgent topic of climate change. If vested economic interests and public relations firms can systematically alter the national debate in favor of their own interests and against those of society as a whole, then the notion of democracy and civic morality is undermined. Congress can and should act to investigate this issue fully. Only then can we restore trust and legitimacy to American governance and fulfill our moral duty to aggressively address climate change.
Raylan; once again you confuse educated people with those of us to who actually produce the goods and services on which this great country operates. The professors teaching at today's institutes of higher learning are mostly people who cannot get a job in the private sector. When I was a strudent,40 years ago most of my teachers (professors) were veterans of foreign wars, WW II and Korea. Some were successful businessmen who retired and were giving back to the system some of their knowledge. They were of the Greatest Generation, veterans not only of war but a horrible depression caused largely by Government intervention in a free market. These people were learned not only through schooling but in the crucible of reality. These gentlemen taught us how to think, not what to think. These men taught us to be critical of everything and accepting of nothing other than what could be proven in the real world. Our education was far superior to the education of today. So if that makes us uneducated in your mind, you need to review what you learned in school and check the credentials of the educators you studied under to see if maybe you were indoctrinated rather than educated. I do not agree with all of his positions but as a whole I think he is right on target. At this point in history there is no reason to be politically correct...we must take our country back and as far as immigration goes, those who legally come into our country are welcome and must assimilate. Those who are here illegally must vacate. You say his rhetoric is rife with lies? What lies??? right wing??? where ??? You need to study what he says rather than taking talking points from your leftist mentors...think for yourself or you will only have yourself to blame.
quote=Raylan Wolfe]Donald's rhetoric is so faiuon is worth somethingr right, so full of hate, and so rife with lies that anyone with the slightest bit of sensibility would be offended! Yet the conservatives continue to show their ignorance with no respect for an evolving society which was built on the backs of immigrants.

The less educated are far more likely to be a Trump supporter!
You are correct. Professor Sussmin will disagree, however we all know that achedemia is the only place that people with no ability can get some measure of respect. If the professor was any good, he would be in private enterprise but having no ability he simply quotes other "published" tenured professors to hypothesize a reality that he has no knowledge of.

The spread the money to the poor and foreign nations and then the US tax payer pays the interest on the debt. It transfers money and wealth from the middle class to others who never pay any federal tax.
The BLM is the problem they are bullies who wish us all to be subject to collective socialist rule...look into Agenda 21 a program opposed to private ownership of land, natural resources, and private wealth. This agenda is promoted by the UN. The problem is that the UN and their socialist cronies want to decide for you what is sustainable based on their liberal progressive sensibilities... look at all the cities run by liberal, progressive democrats and see what is in store for the rest of us if their policies are not stopped and the rule of law and sound business principals is restored.=Onelostdog]I have been watching this since the Bundy ranch thing and the BLM is completely out of control. The BLM and feds call Oregon, Nevada and Arizona ranchers terrorists, oh really. The patriots need to step in again and help these ranchers out from a totalitarian government. SSS may be instigated if the feds don't start backing down.
A couple web sites to ponder on whats happening to ranchers and will be happening to other company's and whole towns in the near future.

Maybe we can get a liberal plaintiff's attorney to file a class action lawsuit against the mfgrs of the psychotropic drugs.quote=eagleye13]Every Mass Shooting Shares One Thing In Common & Its NOT Weapons - [its psychotropic drugs]

Manasquan, NJ - Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing in common, and its not the weapons used.
The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.
Multiple credible scientific studies going back more than a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior. One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 Mainstream Media reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs.
The following list of mass shooting perpetrators and the drugs they were taking or had been taking shortly before their horrific actions was compiled and published to Facebook by John Noveske, founder and owner of Noveske Rifleworks just days before he was mysteriously killed in a single car accident. Is there a link between Noveskes death and his outting of information numerous disparate parties would prefer to suppress, for a variety of reasons?
I leave that to the individual readers to decide. But there is most certainly a documented history of people who knew to much or were considered a threat dying under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances.
From Katherine Smith, a Tennessee DMV worker who was somehow involved with several 9/11 hijackers obtaining Tennessee Drivers Licenses, and was later found burned to death in her car, to Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Gary Webb, who exposed a CIA Operation in the 80s that resulted in the flooding of LA streets with crack cocaine and was later found dead from two gunshot wounds to the head, but was officially ruled as a suicide, to Frank Olson, a senior research micro biologist who was working on the CIAs mind control research program MKULTRA.
After Olson expressed his desire to leave the program, he was with a CIA agent in a New York hotel room, and is alleged to have committed suicide by throwing himself off the tenth floor balcony. In 1994, Olsons sons were successful in their efforts to have their fathers body exhumed and re examined in a second autopsy by James Starrs, Professor of Law and Forensic science at the National Law Center at George Washington University. Starrs team concluded that the blunt force trauma to the head and injury to the chest had not occurred during the fall but most likely in the room before the fall. The evidence was called rankly and starkly suggestive of homicide. Based on his findings, in 1996 the Manhattan District Attorney opened a homicide investigation into Olsons death, but was unable to find enough evidence to bring charges.
As I said, I leave it to the individual readers to make up their own minds if Noveske suffered a similar fate. On to the list of mass shooters and the stark link to psychotropic drugs.

Those focusing on further firearms bans or magazine restrictions are clearly focusing on the wrong issue and asking the wrong questions, either as a deliberate attempt to hide these links, or out of complete and utter ignorance.
Dont let them! Force our elected representatives and the media to cast a harsh spotlight on this issue. Dont stop hounding them until they do.
