My daughter and her husband were at the grocery store last year and a couple ahead of them had a birthday cake, steaks, hamburger, hot dogs, buns, chips, and other party supplies and they paid with a wick card and then they loaded all of the food and supplies into a Cadillac Escalade.
I'm with you on cutting them off.

They couldn't have paid w/ WIC for ANY of those things, they could have with an EBT card, but NOT Wic, Wic is Women, Infant, and Children, and there are ONLY certain things they can purchase with WIC. Milk, eggs, peanut butter, cereal, juices, formula, baby foods, fruit, and vegetables. (you can download a list of foods that WIC can be used for https://www.fns.usda.gov/wic/final-rule-revisions-wic-food-packages )

Now, EBT, Party supplies that are NON food or drink items can not be paid for using WIC OR an EBT card.

But also, IF a parent gets Child Support, IF it's paid to the state they have the OPTION of having the money directly deposited into their bank account OR put on a card much like an EBT card, which can be used as 'cash payment' as an option on the card.

Something else people apparently do not consider is that the person MAY have had an awesome job and purchased that Cadillac, and then lost their job.
And instead of selling the car they kept it, and the assistance they are getting is temporary, and that assistance they put money into it when they had that awesome job--and now they are merely getting a portion of THEIR OWN MONEY back.

My son-in-law works two jobs, one making around $11 and a part time job making $15 an hour, he had medical emergency and was laid up in the hospital for 4 months and the doctors didn't release him until the end of last month, he just went back to work this month, so he hasn't had an income since Oct of last year. He's been working since he was 16 years old, and people try and make them 'feel guilty' for getting food stamps, and other assistance, that he's been paying into FOR YEARS. They were blessed that the ONE of the companies he worked for assisted them in paying their rent and other bills--through their employee emergency assistance program. They don't own a Cadillac, but one of their daughters birthdays fell during this time, should they not attempt to make her birthday as special as they can, using their EBT card??? If not, why do you think they shouldn't??

We as her parents, couldn't help as much as we would have liked to, because my husband lost his job in Oct. the company he worked for closed down his department, 8 people lost their jobs. We had enough money to pay all of our bills and make it 4 months, but because he got a severance package, he couldn't even get unemployment benefits until the end of what they consider the end of the severance payments. So if you get eight weeks worth of severance pay--well, you can't get unemployment benefits until that eight weeks is up, if have a certain amount of money in the bank even if it is set aside so you can pay your bills, you can't get assistance. He was applying for jobs, but people weren't hiring, he finally found something in March, so he was out of work for nearly 6 months, should we have sold our car?? We don't have a Caddy either, but we do have a nice car, that was purchased when he was working and making a great income. (oh, and Unemployment benefits can also be placed on one of those cards). But I'm curious, how do they know what 'type' of card the person used?

The thing is, when you say such things, you don't know the person's circumstances. You don't know if they JUST started receiving those benefits after having been out of work for months, and they received a severance package and they limited their grocery shopping to the basics to make sure their bills were paid, but couldn't get those benefits because they had the money from their severance pay, or if they had a medical emergency, or another job loss or something, so they decided they would splurge a little when they got them, after they have paid into the system for years. Why shouldn't they get some of their money back and use it for what they want??

I'd like to cut them off now Mac. Tired of going to the grocery store and seeing the women with 4 or 5 kids using food stamps. I know dang well her significant other (Not married of coures) works at Hormel for 19 per hour. And....to top it off they both have a membership at my gym. I know because I'm the manager and I sold it to them. CUT THEM OFF NOW!!
.

This is one of the issues, they don't get married but live together, they are supposed to report all income coming into the household, makes one wonder if they do. But you could report anonymously

If all of the kids are his, the state should go after him for child support, yes, if they are living together and unmarried, just as if they weren't living together. Then maybe they would consider marriage as a better option.

"By becoming a police officer, an individual does not give up his right to the protection of these general principles. A police officer does not “assume any greater obligation to others individually. The only additional duty undertaken by accepting employment as a police officer is the duty owed to the public at large."

https://www.policeone.com/police-jobs-and-careers/articles/4913117-Addressing-cops-confusion-over-the-public-duty-doctrine/

"Even if all 500,000 American police officers were assigned to patrol, they could not protect 240 million citizens from upwards of 10 million criminals who enjoy the luxury of deciding when and where to strike. But we have nothing like 500,000 patrol officers; to determine how many police are actually available for any one shift, we must divide the 500,000 by four (three shifts per day, plus officers who have days off, are on sick leave, etc.). The resulting number must be cut in half to account for officers assigned to investigations, juvenile, records, laboratory, traffic, etc., rather than patrol."

I see this a tad bit differently,

There are several elements to break down, and one of the best ways to review the information is to first ask “why”?

Question #1) Why did Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein deliver a non-public outline of investigative authority to Mueller on August 2nd, 2017?
Question #2) Why would Robert Mueller be seeking a signed more specific outline of his investigative authority on August 2nd, 2017; a full three months after he was assigned the role of Special Counsel?
Question #3) Why would Robert Mueller need to redact the content of an official outline of his investigative instructions from the Asst. Attorney General?

First, it is important to put the Rod Rosenstein releases into context.

On Wednesday May 17th, 2017 Rosenstein announced the following:

Well, she's globe trotting to sell her book, her Husband was recently telling the Israeli's how he tried to interfere in their elections (isn't that supposed to be a crime??).

I imagine many of her 'friends' and such have moved on beyond the election, they had to look for jobs and learn to accept that they are going to stay with their employers and won't be getting those government appointments they had been promised.

"One can tell a youngster, but can't tell them much, as they say, but these spoiled activist kids had better be careful of what they wish for because the glowing results the Socialists crow about most likely won't turn out to be as advertised in their agitprop! "

When I read this I laughed, it made me think of those young Parkland children now whining they are required to carry 'clear back packs' and if they carry a musical instrument they must stop and have that searched before they can enter their school. Certainly, not what was 'advertised' to them, when they began demanding other people's 'rights' be taken away from them.

And to the org. post, I've always been required to show ID to vote.

If you've been paying attention you wouldn't have trusted them before Trump was elected. But I know, many people do not actually pay attention.

Waco was illegal, Ruby Ridge they killed innocent people, Bundy's they withheld information that would have exonerated the accused.

But I do find it interesting all these folks who were screaming about overreaching police are now defending these actions.

Maybe do a search on "Licensed to Lie"

I wouldn't be so hard on Rosenstein and Wray, considering IF they knew there was an internal investigation going on of these activities they clearly couldn't tip their hand to those being investigated.

Rosenstein clearly couldn't just refuse to submit the new fisa extension request without them questioning WHY he refused. And wanting to know 'what he knows' and what's going on.
