Puget Sound region could be blanketed under 18-24 inches (45 to 60 cm) of snow by the the middle of next week, says expert.

6 Feb 2019 – “There is going to be a major snow event over much of the Pacific Northwest starting late Friday and continuing into the weekend,” warns Cliff Mass, a professor of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Washington.

Low pressure centered at the southwest corner of the state will pull cold air down from Canada while pushing moist air up into the atmosphere, creating what Mass calls a “perfect snowstorm situation.”

Once the storm begins, says Mass, snowfall will be “extraordinary”, with up to 8 inches over Puget Sound within 24 hours.

But that’s just a lead-up to the main event.

A second storm starting Monday could leave the Puget Sound region under an 18- to 24-inch blanket of snow, says Mass. “Unbelievable.” A “snow apocalypse.”

“What is forecast to occur late Friday and this weekend is absolutely classic,” says Mass. We’re looking at “one of the greatest snow events in decades.”

Authorities “need to get prepared for perhaps the snowiest period since the large snowfall of December 1996,””when Seattle received 21 inches,” says Mass. “And yes, you might stock up on food before noon on Friday. I certainly am.”

How confident is Mass in the forecast?

When it comes to the second storm, says Mass “roughly 2/3rds of the forecasts are going for a large event …ending up with around twenty inches by the middle of next week.” (The reddish colors on the above image indicate around a foot [30 cm] of snow.)

I listened to the whole hr and a half But was repulsed by statements such as we are experiencing an economic miracle and we have the greatest growth in the world, There are a half dozen countries with stronger growth . When he speaks from a teleprompter, his staff produce formalized comments that sometimes withstand fact-checking scrutiny better than his usual claims.which are filled to the brim with lies and distortions. But he still made many specific, demonstrably false claims. The greatest lie, though, was the basic premise of his speech: a supposed call for unity. Instead of a unifying rallying cry, it was filled with much of his typical divisive attacks and vicious fearmongering, particularly about immigrants.

All of these statements were false were
1. “After 24 months of rapid progress, our economy is the envy of the world, our military is the most powerful on earth, and America is winning each and every day.” he said. The military has been the most powerful for decades nothing new. and the economy is on the same trajectorty it was under Obama


2. Trump claimed that the United States’ economy is the “hottest economy anywhere in the world.”
3. He said that under his administration, the country has “added 600,000 new manufacturing jobs.”
4. Under his administration, Trump said, the economy added 5.3 million jobs.
5. Trump said there is an “urgent national crisis” of illegal crossings at the border.
6. Trump falsely said that, after having an extremely high crime rate, El Paso became “one of the safest cities” because of a border wall.. Trump said there is an “urgent national crisis” of illegal crossings at the border.
7. “I want people to come into our country in the largest numbers ever, but they have to come in legally.”

For a man who has been accused of constantly lying, President made one statement after another that stated facts that his opponents did not want to hear. They proved the great achievements that have been
and, they are still coming. After listening to Obama’s SOTU apologies, it is a pleasure to hear a real leader of America make a speech expounding on our greatness, not our weakness. It isn’t stopping here. I want to see what a great improved nation that America will be after his term ends in 2024.
