Israeli settlements flagrantly violate international law. Over 600,000 settlers occupy stolen Palestinian land.

Fourth Geneva prohibits an occupying power from transferring its citizens to the territory it occupies, as well as displacing people from their land to permit it.

Israel wants historic Palestine exclusively for Jews, Palestinians denied their fundamental rights – terrorized for decades with no international support.

Ma’aleh Adumim is Israel’s third largest settlement, home to over 37,500 residents. Extremist settlers and Knesset hardliners want it annexed.

On January 22, Knesset Ministerial Committee members will consider annexation legislation, believing Washington will wink and nod with Trump in power, one-sidedly supporting Israel.

Last Tuesday, Knesset Land of Israel Caucus co-chair Bezalet Smotrich arrogantly said “I believe that this is the present the nation of Israel deserves in the wake of Trump’s inauguration and in advance of the policy change with respect to Judea and Samaria.”

“On Sunday we will submit to the Ministerial Committee on Legislation a bill to apply sovereignty on Ma’aleh Adumim.”

Last month, Security Council Resolution 2334 reaffirmed the illegality of Israeli settlements. On Friday, Abbas spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said “(a)ny Israeli decision regarding annexing the settlement of Maale Adumim will be looked at as dangerous escalation and will not be accepted.”

Don’t bet on it. Abbas is a longstanding Israeli collaborator, installed as Palestinian president to serve its interests – largely avoiding the wrath of his people by saying one thing publicly, going along with Israel privately, amassing illicit wealth in the process.

Israeli extremists consider Maale Adumin part of suburban Jerusalem. Annexing it would further Judaize the city, part of Netanyahu’s divide, conquer, steal and ethnically cleanse strategy.

He believes Jews are entitled to Judea and Samaria, Palestinians confined to isolated pockets of worthless land.

Hardline Israeli education minister Naftali Bennett introduced legislation to annex Maale Adumim, believing now’s the time to seize it with Trump in office.

He’s ideologically dangerous, saying “(n)o (Security Council) resolution can change the fact that this land, Jerusalem, is our capital. And no people can be a conqueror in their own land. That’s why this resolution, like many of the earlier resolutions, will be thrown into the dustbin of history.”

Security Council resolutions are binding – changes or rescission of Res. 2334 not forthcoming given Russian and Chinese veto power.

With strong Western support, Israel breaches international law with impunity. Bennett believes the Trump administration will end notions of Palestinian statehood, leaving Israel free to steal all occupied land it wishes.

Maale Adumin constitutes a large area Israeli extremists want annexed. With no opposition from Washington, they’re counting on it ahead of seizing all valued Judea and Samaria territory.

Who were the original inhabitants of Palestine?

Looking through the pages of history, it becomes clear that the war over the possession of Palestine and Jerusalem has been going on between Muslims, Christians and Jews since Biblical times without reaching any settlement ever. Archaeological findings and statements in Bible clearly show that Palestine was inhabited by non-Jewish Semites a long time before Jews even claimed that it is their “promised land” and long after that. The justification of Jews, that they claim the land because it belonged to them 3,300 years ago and was lost in the war, is absurd because if that logic is true; America should give the southwestern territory back to Mexicans and the rest of the land to Indians.



The term Zionism refers to the belief of Jews that Palestine is their homeland. The name Zion came from the name of the hill on which the temple of Jerusalem is situated. The end of World War I brought an end to the Ottoman Empire and Britain took over Palestine. Balfour Declaration was issued in 1917, a British move to secure the support of Zionists by promising them a homeland in Palestine. Jewish population grew dramatically from 50,000 to 600,000 during the mandate period compared to an Arab population of 1,300,000.
The bond between the British and the Zionists was terminated in 1939 but the Holocaust secured Jewish position in Europe for asking a separate homeland. By the time British lifted the mandate in 1948, Jews had convinced the American president to support their cause of declaring an independent state for Israel.
Right after Israel declared independence; it was attacked by Palestinian Arabs backed by Arabs from neighboring countries. This war, which is known as the Arab-Israeli War, produced over 700,000 Palestinian refugees. Since then, Israel got involved in four major wars with Arabs, the Suez Crisis in 1956, the Six Day War of 1967, the Arab Israeli War of 1973 and Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982.
The then population figures determined that mandatory and Turkish Palestine was of great importance and incites a lot of historical interest. Pro-Palestinian historians challenge the claim made by Zionists that Palestine is “a land without people for people without land” and show the census figures stating that the land had substantial population comprising of Palestinian Arabs by 1914. According to Zionists, most of this increase in population occurred after Jews started developing in Palestine in 1880. They claim that most of the increase happened because of Jewish immigration while pro-Palestinians hold the view that Zionist settlements forced Palestinian Arabs to displace before 1948.

Some of you right wingers must now claim to be astonished. trump, for 18 months told you that due to the audit, he could not release his tax returns, and that was fine with you. Now, the story has changed. What is he afraid of? Only that he is not worth 10 billion, but only 3 or 4... Or could something worst be hidden in that pile of numbers?? No one will ever know...

Just in case there were any doubts, President Donald Trump won’t be releasing his tax returns, even after the frequently cited audit is complete. “The White House response is that he’s not going to release his tax returns,” said Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, during an appearance on ABC’s This Week. “We litigated this all through the election.”

Throughout the campaign, Trump had vowed to release his tax returns once an audit was complete despite the fact that the IRS had clearly said an audit doesn't prevent anyone from releasing his or her own returns. The president seemed to once again push this argument at his news conference earlier this month when he said, “I’m not releasing the tax returns because, as you know, they’re under audit.”

Now there seems to have been a change of heart.

Why won’t Trump release the returns? The American public just isn’t interested, and showed as much by voting for Trump. “People didn’t care,” Conway added. “They voted for him, and let me make this very clear: Most Americans are—are very focused on what their tax returns will look like while President Trump is in office, not what his look like.”

Trump had made much the same point in his Jan. 11 news conference, saying that only reporters cared about the returns. Yet a Washington Post-ABC poll revealed this month that almost two-thirds of Americans want the documents to be made public. Although presidents aren’t required by law to release their returns, every president since Richard Nixon has done so voluntarily.

The issue came up because ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Conway about a petition posted on the White House website demanding the release of Trump’s tax returns. The petition was posted on Friday and has garnered more than 220,000 signatures. Petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures are supposed to get an official response from the White House.

One group that is none too happy with Trump’s decision? WikiLeaks, which described Trump’s “breach of promise” as “even more gratuitous than Clinton concealing her Goldman Sachs transcripts.” The group called on someone to leak the documents so they can see the light of day.
