The Collapse of the Petrodollar in Our Future
By Pastor Gary Boyd

(“The Collapse of the Petrodollar in Our Future” is the first article I wrote on the collapse of the Petrodollar in 2013. The second attached article “Russia Breaking the Wall Street Oil Monopoly” was published 9/1/2016 by a Princeton educated journalist. Please compare the two then place a comment here.)

During the last half of the 20th century the almighty dollar was the supreme currency of choice in tech terms known as the global reserve currency. All throughout history dating back to Roman times there have been all but a few nations that have experienced the financial exhilaration of having such an artificial demand for their currency. None have survived the ride so far. The dollar has reigned supreme as the global reserve currency which has allowed the United States consumption levels to reach unprecedented levels that are currently unsustainable . This rampant over consumption leads us down a trail to trillions of dollars of debt that there is no possible way we will ever dig out from unless severe austere measures are structured now and implemented.

Foreign Nations Are Awakening

Nations abroad are awakening to the fact that America's inability to service these unsustainable debt levels will eventually scare off investors that will take their investment dollars to safer currencies. At the time that this occurs the American dollar will become a second rate currency. One of the very basic laws of economics states “money always flows to the rate of the highest return.” When the dollar collapses America will be forced to raise interest rates to encourage foreign investment capital inflows back to the states.

Interest Rates Will Go Double Digit

With a dollar collapse, there will be a permanent downgrade of the U.S. credit rating that will force an increase in U.S. interest rates and an impending increase in inflation. Thanks to the federal government bailout which has chosen to fight a credit crisis with simply piling on more credit, massive inflationary pressures will be just around the corner. By raising interest rates the U.S. will hope to save the dollar. Higher interest rates, however, will simply crush the housing market and business spending. Likewise, the average debt loads carried by most Americans will be severely aggravated by high interest rate increases.

The Petro-dollar System

On top of all this economic misery the petro-dollar system will break down as oil producing nations turn to precious metals, the euro, or possibly a basket of currencies. In the face of a almost worthless dollar, oil producing nations will finally detach themselves from the petro-dollar system. This particular system, that requires oil producing nations to accept only U.S. dollars for their oil and to then place their profits in failing U.S. debt instruments, could and probably will be replaced by a variety of different systems. Under this kind of pressure it is almost assured the petro-dollar system will collapse, ending the global artificial demand for U.S. dollars that has been the cause of America’s extreme over consumption.

Oil Prices Will Skyrocket

In the next several years, with China and India using more oil as their economies expand, oil supplies will decline while the global demand will skyrocket forcing the American public to face the long term economic realities of oil. Oil prices could reach levels unprecedented in our modern times going well over $200 dollars a barrel in the not to distant future.

The Spotlight Will Then Be On the Middle East

As a bloated American economic empire begins to lose its grip with the global community, the focus will shift to the ascendant European Union, an oil rich Middle East, and a labor rich far East. The Middle East sits atop 62% of the world’s oil supplies, while the United States is handcuffed by the extremist environmentalists that will not allow America to drill in its own hemisphere. It appears the Middle East is poised to ride this integration of wealth and power at the exact moment that the United States power will begin to wane. It also looks like this Middle East integration will be led by Iraq that will then be flush with oil cash that will then be a force to be reckoned with.

Iraq Sits On One of the Biggest Oil Reserves

Iraq sits upon one of the biggest oil reserves in the world allowing it to exploit these resources to the extreme. If Iraq can keep Iran at bay, with American troops there to stabilize the region, it is highly predictable that Iraq, with all the new oil discoveries, could become one of the richest nations on the face of the earth in the next decade. Expect Iraq to become a major player in the Middle East buying its safety from Iran with mercenary armies and draftees raising Iraq’s banner above all others in that region.

Conclusion

Unfortunately global reserves in other parts of the world will also diminish during Iraq’s rise to dominance in the world scene. As global demand for all commodities continue to grow in the future, nations will revert to what they know best, armed conflict. Expect global resource wars in the next decade and America’s role as global policeman to diminish due to starved economic factors. With over 700 military bases worldwide and not enough funds to support these strategic positions the U.S. will be forced to close bases worldwide that will eventually fan fires of war when the good guys have left the region. With debt hanging around America’s neck like a noose our power and dominion will vanish unless we get our economic ship on a austere course.

Allowing the United States to drill for oil in new regions can help get us back on the right track. New technology can help us glean oil from shale rock and be profitable with oil prices high. Cutting federal debt, cutting taxes, allowing corporations to get out from burdensome rules and regulations, allowing businesses to hire new employees that will in turn pay new taxes is a start on a way out from this heavy load Americans now have to bare. A true return to a free market system without the heavy hand of the federal government will mean a return to the capitalist system Americans adore and cherish.

"Russia Breaking Wall St Oil Price Monopoly"

Russia has just taken significant steps that will break the present Wall Street oil price monopoly, at least for a huge part of the world oil market. The move is part of a longer-term strategy of decoupling Russia’s economy and especially its very significant export of oil, from the US dollar, today the Achilles Heel of the Russian economy.

Later in November the Russian Energy Ministry has announced that it will begin test-trading of a new Russian oil benchmark. While this might sound like small beer to many, it’s huge. If successful, and there is no reason why it won’t be, the Russian crude oil benchmark futures contract traded on Russian exchanges, will price oil in rubles and no longer in US dollars. It is part of a de-dollarization move that Russia, China and a growing number of other countries have quietly begun.

The setting of an oil benchmark price is at the heart of the method used by major Wall Street banks to control world oil prices. Oil is the world’s largest commodity in dollar terms. Today, the price of Russian crude oil is referenced to what is called the Brent price. The problem is that the Brent field, along with other major North Sea oil fields is in major decline, meaning that Wall Street can use a vanishing benchmark to leverage control over vastly larger oil volumes. The other problem is that the Brent contract is controlled essentially by Wall Street and the derivatives manipulations of banks like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP MorganChase and Citibank.

The ‘Petrodollar’ demise

The sale of oil denominated in dollars is essential for the support of the US dollar. In turn, maintaining demand for dollars by world central banks for their currency reserves to back foreign trade of countries like China, Japan or Germany, is essential if the United States dollar is to remain the leading world reserve currency. That status as world’s leading reserve currency is one of two pillars of American hegemony since the end of World War II. The second pillar is world military supremacy.

US wars financed with others’ dollars

Because all other nations need to acquire dollars to buy imports of oil and most other commodities, a country such as Russia or China typically invests the trade surplus dollars its companies earn in the form of US government bonds or similar US government securities. The only other candidate large enough, the Euro, since the 2010 Greek crisis, is seen as more risky.

That leading reserve role of the US dollar, since August 1971 when the dollar broke from gold-backing, has essentially allowed the US Government to run seemingly endless budget deficits without having to worry about rising interest rates, like having a permanent overdraft credit at your bank.

That in effect has allowed Washington to create a record $18.6 trillion federal debt without major concern. Today the ratio of US government debt to GDP is 111%. In 2001 when George W. Bush took office and before trillions were spent on the Afghan and Iraq “War on Terror,” US debt to GDP was just half, or 55%. The glib expression in Washington is that “debt doesn’t matter,” as the assumption is that the world—Russia, China, Japan, India, Germany–will always buy US debt with their trade surplus dollars. The ability of Washington to hold the lead reserve currency role, a strategic priority for Washington and Wall Street, is vitally tied to how world oil prices are determined.

In the period up until the end of the 1980’s world oil prices were determined largely by real daily supply and demand. It was the province of oil buyers and oil sellers. Then Goldman Sachs decided to buy the small Wall Street commodity brokerage, J. Aron in the 1980’s. They had their eye set on transforming how oil is traded in world markets.

It was the advent of “paper oil,” oil traded in futures, contracts independent of delivery of physical crude, easier for the large banks to manipulate based on rumors and derivative market skullduggery, as a handful of Wall Street banks dominated oil futures trades and knew just who held what positions, a convenient insider role that is rarely mentioned in polite company. It was the beginning of transforming oil trading into a casino where Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase and a few other giant Wall Street banks ran the crap tables.

In the aftermath of the 1973 rise in the price of OPEC oil by some 400% in a matter of months following the October, 1973 Yom Kippur war, the US Treasury sent a high-level emissary to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In 1975 US Treasury Assistant Secretary, Jack F. Bennett, was sent to Saudi Arabia to secure an agreement with the monarchy that Saudi and all OPEC oil will only be traded in US dollars, not Japanese Yen or German Marks or any other. Bennett then went to take a high job at Exxon. The Saudis got major military guarantees and equipment in return and from that point, despite major efforts of oil importing countries, oil to this day is sold on world markets in dollars and the price is set by Wall Street via control of the derivatives or futures exchanges such as Intercontinental Exchange or ICE in London, the NYMEX commodity exchange in New York, or the Dubai Mercantile Exchange which sets the benchmark for Arab crude prices. All are owned by a tight-knit group of Wall Street banks–Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and others. At the time Secretary of State Henry Kissinger reportedly stated, “If you control the oil, you control entire nations.” Oil has been at the heart of the Dollar System since 1945.

Russian benchmark importance

Today, prices for Russian oil exports are set according to the Brent price in as traded London and New York. With the launch of Russia’s benchmark trading, that is due to change, likely very dramatically. The new contract for Russian crude in rubles, not dollars, will trade on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX).

The Brent benchmark contract are used presently to price not only Russian crude oil. It’s used to set the price for over two-thirds of all internationally traded oil. The problem is that the North Sea production of the Brent blend is declining to the point today only 1 million barrels Brent blend production sets the price for 67% of all international oil traded. The Russian ruble contract could make a major dent in the demand for oil dollars once it is accepted.

Russia is the world’s largest oil producer, so creation of a Russian oil benchmark independent from the dollar is significant, to put it mildly. In 2013 Russia produced 10.5 million barrels per day, slightly more than Saudi Arabia. Because natural gas is mainly used in Russia, fully 75% of their oil can be exported. Europe is by far Russia’s main oil customer, buying 3.5 million barrels a day or 80% of total Russian oil exports. The Urals Blend, a mixture of Russian oil varieties, is Russia’s main exported oil grade. The main European customers are Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. To put Russia’s benchmark move into perspective, the other large suppliers of crude oil to Europe – Saudi Arabia (890,000 bpd), Nigeria (810,000 bpd), Kazakhstan (580,000 bpd) and Libya (560,000 bpd) – lag far behind Russia. As well, domestic production of crude oil in Europe is declining quickly. Oil output from Europe fell just below 3 Mb/d in 2013, following steady declines in the North Sea which is the basis of the Brent benchmark.

End to dollar hegemony good for US

The Russian move to price in rubles its large oil exports to world markets, especially Western Europe, and increasingly to China and Asia via the ESPO pipeline and other routes, on the new Russian oil benchmark in the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange is by no means the only move to lessen dependence of countries on the dollar for oil. Sometime early next year China, the world’s second-largest oil importer, plans to launch its own oil benchmark contract. Like the Russian, China’s benchmark will be denominated not in dollars but in Chinese Yuan. It will be traded on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.

Step-by-step, Russia, China and other emerging economies are taking measures to lessen their dependency on the US dollar, to “de-dollarize.” Oil is the world’s largest traded commodity and it is almost entirely priced in dollars. Were that to end, the ability of the US military industrial complex to wage wars without end would be in deep trouble.

Perhaps that would open some doors to more peaceful ideas such as spending US taxpayer dollars on rebuilding the horrendous deterioration of basic USA economic infrastructure. The American Society of Civil Engineers in 2013 estimated $3.6 trillion of basic infrastructure investment is needed in the United States over the next five years. They report that one out of every 9 bridges in America, more than 70,000 across the country, are deficient. Almost one-third of the major roads in the US are in poor condition. Only 2 of 14 major ports on the eastern seaboard will be able to accommodate the super-sized cargo ships that will soon be coming through the newly expanded Panama Canal. There are more than 14,000 miles of high-speed rail operating around the world, but none in the United States.

That kind of basic infrastructure spending would be a far more economically beneficial source of real jobs and real tax revenue for the United States than more of John McCain’s endless wars. Investment in infrastructure, as I have noted in previous articles, has a multiplier effect in creating new markets. Infrastructure creates economic efficiencies and tax revenues of some 11 to 1 for every one dollar invested as the economy becomes more efficient.

A dramatic decline for the role of the dollar as world reserve currency, if coupled with a Russia-styled domestic refocus on rebuilding America’s domestic economy, rather than out-sourcing everything, could go a major way to rebalance a world gone mad with war. Paradoxically, the de-dollarization, by denying Washington the ability to finance future wars by the investment in US Treasury debt from Chinese, Russian and other foreign bond buyers, could be a valuable contribution to genuine world peace. Wouldn’t that be nice for a change?

Researched by Pastor Gary Boyd

The source for this article wants to remain anonymous because of death threat on his life. So be it.

Saudi Arabia is in dire trouble today as the outcry over recent executions mounts. The execution of Shia Sheikh Nimr Baqr al-Nimr in the most brutal day of executions in the country in three decades has now sparked violence across the region. If Saudi Arabia is destabilized, the Middle East could easily turn into a bloodbath of biblical proportions. Remember the Saudis have 34 nations behind what they do. This begs the big question, “What is really behind these apparently symbolic executions?”

In October of last year al-Nimr was sentenced to death by the so-called Specialized Criminal Court after he allegedly sought foreign aid for his causes in Saudi Arabia, and for “disobeying” the rulers of the country. However, al-Nimr was a peaceful dissenter over the entire course of his fight for Shia rights and a democratic Saudi Arabia. It was during the 2011-2012 protests that al-Nimr instructed protesters to face police bullets with what he called “the roar of the word,” instead of resorting to violence. It seems significant here to point out, al-Nimr was executed along with 46 other prisoners, some of whom were obvious terrorists. The implication from the Saudi government could not be clearer. Amnesty International put it best proclaiming the death sentence; “part of a campaign by the authorities in Saudi Arabia to crush all dissent, including those defending the rights of the Kingdom’s Shi’a Muslim community.”

No Time for Martyrs

The peaceful cleric’s death has shaken the Shia populations across the region today, and especially in Iran where protesters set fire to the Saudi embassy. Now the house of Saud has severed ties with Tehran altogether, and al-Nimr has taken on martyr status in the hours since his execution. As for the Saudi regime, an iron fisted crackdown seems imminent as even al-Nimr’s brother, Mohammad al-Nimr was arrested for simply “tweeting” information about the death sentence. Saudi Arabia’s top cleric, Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al al-Sheikh poured salt into the Shia population’s wounds by proclaiming the executions “mercy to the prisoners,” saying “their deaths would prevent them committing more crimes.” As to the Shia cleric’s attitude and strategies for dissent, this WikiLeaks cable concerning a secret meeting he had with US diplomats at his home reveal an ideological warrior, not a revolutionary in the typical sense. Saudi Arabia has carried out more than 150 executions over the last year, more than at any time in the last two decades.

Iran is the main regional rival of Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia, and has been since the fall of the Shah back in the 1970s. Iran’s isolation since the revolution there has largely benefitted the house of Saud and those aligned with Saudi interests abroad, especially the United States and Britain. For the reader who is unfamiliar, Saudi Arabia is 90% Sunni Muslim and Iran is likewise 90% Shia Muslim, but the sectarian divide has been less acute than the political one for decades now. It is this most recent Sunni-Shia sore that has festered with the infestation of outside interests of late. Sheikh Nimr’s long history of Shia rights activism now sits in contrast to a Saudi government that is clearly on the road to extreme measures not simply internally, but toward perceived threats in the region and the world. The Saudi leadership faces multiple security challenges at home and abroad. Significant economic pressures now exist, and the Syria-Iraq situation has become a PR nightmare for the house of Saud given allegations of the government’s support of terrorists-rebels there. Logic suggests, there’s a lot more to the al-Nimr execution than a crackdown on dissent too. What is really behind this seemingly maniacal incendiary moment? If stability and peace are anyone’s goals, this is no time for creating martyrs. Al-Nimr’s execution does demonstrate unequivocally the “no tolerance” position of the ruling family toward any dissent, but it also sends an even more disturbing message. The Saudi definition of terrorism pointing to anyone not within more conservative Wahhabist power base of that regime seems poignant today. The Shia community in the east cannot be feeling secure at this moment.

In the Shadow of Machiavelli

The best clue as to “who stands behind” this new Saudi-Iran crisis comes to us from the Washington Post. For anyone still unaware, this Amazon owned media outlet is the perfect barometer of what is NOT true in the world of international affairs these days. Using “reverse news” psychology here, the article by Karen DeYoung tells us all we need to know about al-Nimr’s execution. If you will allow me this quote:

“Obama administration officials expressed deep concern Sunday that the abrupt escalation of tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran could have repercussions extending to the fight against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, the diplomatic efforts to end Syria’s civil war, and wider efforts to bring stability to the Middle East.”

Citing unnamed officials in Barack Obama’s administration has become the guiding principle of corporate media in America these last few years, and the Washington Post misdirects have never been more transparent than today. This piece is misleading, supportive of Saudi & US disruption in the region, and anti-Iranian to the extreme. The author continues using another source who is a “authorized to convey Saudi thinking on the condition of anonymity,” if you can imagine such a conveyance. According to the WP, Saudi Arabia is framed as the only nation “doing something”, and I quote:

“Tehran has thumbed its nose at the West again and again, continuing to sponsor terrorism and launch ballistic missiles and no one is doing anything about it.”

Then BAM! Steve Bezos’ Washington Post newspaper barks the real intent of this propaganda bid bringing Russia into the fray with:

“ Iran, along with Russia, is the leading backer of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a member of a minority Shiite sect, and Riyadh views the civil war as part of Iran’s fight for sectarian dominance.”

American Fighters Overhead

As I type this from our offices in Germany, US F-15 and F-16 fighters fly overhead in a continuous stream from the US air base at Spangdahlem Air Base. I mention this only because 2 years ago we seldom if ever heard fighter aircraft overhead. These days even locals wonder if the flyovers have a purpose beyond intimidation, or at least some residents have expressed this to me personally. The current undeclared war of resolve, it bears witnessing and a focus on all these events in the Middle East. My point being, Riyadh’s actions of the last few days are part of an overall western strategy of unrest. If the Washington Post tells you Obama’s White House is worried over something, you can count on the fact that the Obama regime having been part of the cause of the event. In this case we see the “never say die” war against Assad and Russia in the works. It is a crazy bit of irony that WP’s editor Karen DeYoung was once quoted as saying; “We are inevitably the mouthpiece for whatever administration is in power.“

Meanwhile, at the Wall Street Journal newspaper owned by billionaire Rupert Murdoch (who has energy investments in the region) we have another indicative report, or should I say “counter indicative?” Jay Solomon reports on the weeping sadness of Barack Obama that his non-existent peace plan for Syria may be derailed by Riyadh's decision to sever ties with Iran. Within this report the “real” mission of the Saudis, and Washington’s current administration is revealed. I’ll rely on another quote to clue the reader. Referring to the John Kerry brokered “plan” the Wall Street Journal writer inadvertently betrays the Obama administration with:
“Under the deal, Iran in the coming months is set to receive as much as $100 billion in frozen oil revenues, which could be used to support its proxies in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.”
Summing Up

To sum up here, the goal all along has been to misdirect from Obama’s team. The Iran deal, the parlaying at various peace accords, all the State Department’s efforts have been designed to frame the United States as peace loving, with the teddy bear John Kerry as a sort of Mother Teresa of détente. Has anyone noticed yet how every deal the man makes goes south in the end? Now Iran coming out of decades of useless sanctions is on the rocks, as was planned so it appears. The WSJ piece further implicates (by inaccuracy) the White House’s Machiavellian strategies with:
“ As the conflict deepened over the weekend, with Saudi Arabia officially severing ties with Iran, U.S. officials expressed skepticism over how much influence Washington had in heading off a conflict based on centuries-old religious divisions.”
It is with this, ad nauseam, which mainstream media parrots State Department rhetoric we find the true backers of terrorism and strife in the Middle East. The statement misleads readers into believing the situation in the Middle East is “out of the control” of the Obama regime, when the reverse is absolutely true. The story goes on to plant the seed of military support for Saudi Arabia should the situation escalate, which it is certain to do with the help of the lame duck President Obama.

When all's said and done, Nimr Baqr al-Nimr was a man of peaceful advocacy for the people of his belief has now been made an early martyr of WW3 in his region of Saudi Arabia. There is literally no proof to the contrary, yet he was summarily executed by a regime notorious for beheading its citizens. The United States of America has not only backed this regime, but has aligned herself in an auspicious manner over the years essentially using the Saudis as a vassal for regional control. This section of a WikiLeaks cable damns the Saudis for helping create the mess in Syria and elsewhere:
“The USG engages regularly with the Saudi Government on terrorist financing. The establishment in 2008 of a Treasury attache office presence in Riyadh contributes to robust interaction and information sharing on the issue. Despite this presence, however, more needs to be done since Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaeda, the Taliban, LeT, and other terrorist groups, including Hamas, which probably raise millions of dollars annually from Saudi sources, often during Hajj and Ramadan. In contrast to its increasingly aggressive efforts to disrupt al-Qa’ida’s access to funding from Saudi sources, Riyadh has taken only limited action to disrupt fundraising for the UN 1267-listed Taliban and LeT-groups that are also aligned with al-Qaeda and focused on undermining stability in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
Wikileaks Revelations

The cable is from the US State Department to various offices of the Saudi government, that of the UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar. This cable, along with dozens of other revelations about the backers of terror in the world, leaves no room for ambiguity. But what’s far more disturbing is the way Washington, London and to a lesser extent Brussels are portraying current unrest as some type of religious war. The Christian-Jew-Muslim aspects of these crises are being used to hide the real cause of corporate governments supplanting rights and freedoms. This is a larger argument, but the correct one at this stage. What the world suffers from now is a hell bent effort by the godless of the world (elite bankers) to once again spark crusades for the purposes of strategy and profit. Most people reading this fully understand this, even though the exact culprits may be obscure but nevertheless known to Obama.

The summary of this story is fairly easy to parlay. Saudi Arabia just made a play for the neocons in Washington, the bankers in London, who have so far remained in the shadows in all this. They created a martyr who may well serve their utterly evil needs, to set the world on fire one more time the start of WW3. Let me leave you with the most damning quote I have yet found. It is from WikiLeaks, and implicates the Obama and previous US administrations:
“WikiLeaks cables show that the US has been tracking, and exploiting, the rise of ISIS since 2006, when the organisation first appeared in Iraq as a direct result of the Bush-Blair invasion. Like Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, ISIS are the mutations of a western state terror dispensed by a venal imperial elite undeterred by the consequences of actions taken at great remove in distance and culture. Their culpability is unmentionable in our societies.”
Make no mistake here, America and Britain created this mess in the world, with the help of profiting allies like the sheiks of Saudi Arabia. The WikiLeaks revelations tell of former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas’ statements on this too. What he revealed is that Britain basically made plans for the Syrian disaster years ago. What we are witnessing is a last ditch effort to counter Vladimir Putin’s play in the region, and to either win a new Syria partitioning, or else burn the deserts with nukes. This is WW3 in the making, and the man on the pale horse seems evident now, the leader of the faithful and true. This is all moving along as predicted in Psalm 83. Oh, have you noticed there is no mention of Israel’s part in all this, but is the real reason the area is being destabilized so they can get to the Jews and drive them into the sea. God help us all.

Riyadh is Aggravating the Sunni-Shia Face

The execution of a Shia preacher, Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, in Riyadh on January 2, 2016 has provoked a massive wave of protests in Shia communities all across the Middle East: in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, and other countries densely populated by Shiites. As most must know, Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr was arrested a couple of years ago by the Saudi authorities on accusations of organizing mass protests during the events of the so-called “Arab Spring.” At that time the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia sought greater regional autonomy and insisted on proportional representation of the Shia minority in the central government. The Saudi authorities chose to brutally suppress all protests, subjecting Shia activists to violent repressions.

Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr executed along with 46 others

Despite the fact that during his trial in 2012, Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr claimed that he never was in possession of any kind of weapons and did not call for violence, he was sentenced to death all the same. Saudi authorities have been well aware of the fact that the execution of this influential Shia cleric would be regarded as a blatant injustice by all Shiites across the entire region, yet still he was executed — together with jihadists to stress the fact that Saudi authorities see no difference between terrorists and fighters for civil rights and freedoms. Not surprisingly, the violent death the preacher faced has made him into a martyr, whose only fault was his devotion to Islam and his criticism of the ruling Al-Saud clan that he sometimes voiced. On January 3, the Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Saudi politicians are going to experience holy wrath brought down upon themselves for this crime. As for the West, its reaction to this medieval act of barbarity has been predictably muted.

Mayhem & Chaos

But Iranians are not satisfied with massive demonstrations and protests all across the country, broke into the Saudi diplomatic missions in Tehran and Mashhad, destroying property and setting fire to everything in sight. Still, local police units were quick to restore order. In response, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir announced that Saudi Arabia was breaking off its diplomatic ties with Iran due to its “explicit interference in the internal affairs of the kingdom.” Saudi diplomats were immediately withdrawn from Iran, while Iranian diplomats were asked to leave the KSA (Kingdom Saudi Arabia) within 48 hours. In addition, Saudi authorities said they’re planning to cancel all flights to Iran and prohibit their subjects, except for pilgrims, from visiting Iran. Washington tried to soothe tensions between the two states but hasn’t found much success. However, the leaders of Saudi Arabia made it clear to their overseas partners that they will not tolerate the fact that Iran, with the tacit approval of the United States and other Western countries, continues to improve its offensive military capabilities.
Following Saudi Arabia’s example, Bahrain and Sudan announced that they were also breaking off diplomatic ties with Iran. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates has already announced that it’s going to cut back the number of its diplomatic representatives in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Moreover, as stated by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Ben Helli, this organization is going to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the diplomatic conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
It is obvious that the execution of the Shia preacher served as a pretext for a new wave of tensions between Iran and the Sunni Arab states led by Saudi Arabia. In a situation where there’s a growing number of political and economic conflicts between Riyadh and Tehran, the intensification of the aggressive war of words was just a matter of time.

Iran again a regional power

The agreement between Tehran and the West on the Iranian nuclear program and, as a consequence, the expected withdrawal of economic sanctions from Iran brings this state out of artificially imposed international isolation, allowing it to once again become one of the leading regional powers. It’s no secret that Iran is the center of one of the main branches of Islam – Shia fundamentalism, which serves as an antithesis to the Sunni-Wahhabi version of Islam that prevails today in Saudi Arabia and among several other Persian Gulf monarchies. Tehran’s influence in the Middle East in recent years has considerably strengthened, be it in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, or Bahrain’s Shia community. The Gulf monarchies are terrified by the strengthening “Shia arc” in the region, so they have been reluctant to share power or resources with Shia minorities. The greatest irritation among all for the Wahhabi regimes is their inability to topple the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria or suppress the Houthi uprising in Yemen. That is why, despite the formal claims that they are fighting international terrorism, the Gulf monarchies continue supporting radical Islamist groups in the region.

Oil could skyrocket

Moreover, Iran makes no secret of the fact that it is going to grab its own part of the oil market and restore the pre-sanction levels of oil production. Allegedly, Iran could be providing the market with up to 1 million barrels of oil per day. Moreover, it prepared to pursue the collapse of OPEC if the members of this organization fail to agree to return to all of its quotas. The conflict between Riyadh and Tehran has already caused some increase in oil prices. Thus, Brent grew by 3.35%, breaking the mark of 38 dollars per barrel, while WTI grew by 3.5%. The dollar has also went up since investors are traditionally buying American dollars against a background of immediate geopolitical threats. Paradoxically, Washington benefits from the Middle Eastern face-off. To only heighten the tension the Saudis bombed the Iranian embassy in Yemen today causing much vitriol to be spoken and a large demonstration.

Conclusion

There’s no telling how far Iran and Saudi Arabia will go amid this current confrontation, but one cannot exclude any further provocations from either side and even attempts to use armed force in this conflict. But, for the sake of objectivity, it should be noted that any direct military confrontation would not serve the interests of either state. Tehran is determined to see the withdrawal of the sanctions imposed upon it by the UN and Western countries to become a full member of the international community. In turn, Riyadh has to reckon with the increased military and economic potential of Iran and should avoid aggravating its relations with Washington any further. Yet, the situation can get out of control very quickly and if so could WW3 be far behind? Read Jeremiah 49:32-34

Goodbye Germany, your dark age approaches.

When talking about Israel, one always asks: which subject today? Or this hour? There’s so much to cover!

This week, I’d like to discuss the profoundly immoral stance of the international community regarding Israel’s legitimacy.

It was announced today that Germany’s Foreign Minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeirer said the country would back the European Union’s labeling of products made in “the West Bank, east Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.” You’ve probably heard of this boycott effort, led by international leftists who hate Jews and hate Israel.

Pathetically, Steinmeirer was quick to add that “Israeli” products (those produced inside the dangerously small Israel proper) would continue to be sold in Europe and, thank you, Frank-Walter, those products will get “preferential market access.”

How kind.

Further, the German Foreign Ministry said “there will not be an Israel boycott in Germany.”

As if this parsing suffices. The bottom line is that Steinmeirer has perhaps forgotten a little historical footnote called the Holocaust, in which, among other things, Jews within the Reich were first imperiled through economic boycotts. Signs were put up in the shops of Jewish owners, warning German citizens not to do business there.

We know what happened after that.

Making a distinction between Israel proper and the Disputed Territories might help the Germans sleep better at night (amid their nightmares of murder from 70 years ago), but it simply in reality drives home the point that they are immoral.

For decades, the PLO and the wider pan-Arab world worked tirelessly to depict Israel as illegitimate, itself a “Nazi state.” Incredibly, the world fell for it. Now, in a lame attempt to appear even-handed, Germany’s leadership extends one economic hand to the Jewish state, while working to tie the other one behind Israel’s back.

Produce and goods that come from the region between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean must be partitioned, in the minds of international elites, who prefer to try and pacify the genocidal Arabs, who would, were they to succeed in their millennia-long goal of exterminating the Jews, come after the Europeans next.

(Or perhaps they already have! The attacks in Paris and the encroachment of Islam in every European country — fully 30 percent of Brussels is Muslim! — signal that the invasion has begun.)

It’s especially galling that the Germans would deny they are boycotting Israel, even as they boycott Israel.

Interestingly, Israel is thriving and has the best security in the world, while Old World Europe is a dying ember and even the U.S. is being remade in the image of the false god in the White House. Both communities are in rapid decline.

Yet Israel remains.

According to the Jerusalem Post:

“Israel’s National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz termed the EU label measure ‘disguised anti-Semitism.’

“A spokeswoman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel told the Post on the telephone that the federal government is reviewing the Post query. Merkel has said she opposes boycotts of Israel but has not issued a public statement on EU product labels.”

Merkel of course is the delusional leader of Germany working around the clock to flood the country with Middle East refugees — many of whom will finish-off the once-proud German nation once they are in place and their terror cells are operative.

Europe’s madness is hard to watch, inexplicable and terrifying.

The only thing that separates us from the hapless and clueless Europeans is 300 million privately owned guns.

If found it ironic that Germany’s stance on boycotts did not include Gaza. You’ll recall that 10 years ago, Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza, leaving much business infrastructure for the Palestinians, who promptly burned it all to the ground. Yet civilized Europe still tries to appease the Death Cult.

Soon and very soon, Europe will enter into a new Dark Age, for myriad reasons involving their view of Israel and Jews.

America will hardly be in a position to rebuild the Continent, then, as we did two generations ago.

I suggest we boycott Europe — travel and goods — and invest instead in Israel.

Long live the Jewish state and may God bless her always.

The Social Security check is now (or soon will be) referred to as a "Federal Benefit Payment?" I'll be part of the one percent to forward this. I am forwarding it because it touches a nerve in me, and I hope it will in you. Please keep passing it on until everyone in our country has read it.

The government is now referring to our Social Security checks as a "Federal Benefit Payment." This isn't a benefit. It is our money paid out of our earned income! Not only did we all contribute to Social Security but our employers did too. It totaled 15% of our income before taxes.

If you averaged $30K per year over your working life, that's close to $180,000 invested in Social Security.

If you calculate the future value of your monthly investment in social security ($375/month, including both you and your employers contributions) at a meager 1% interest rate compounded monthly, after 40 years of working you'd have more than $1.3+ million dollars saved!

This is your personal investment. Upon retirement, if you took out only 3% per year, you'd receive $39,318 per year, or $3,277 per month.

That's almost three times more than today's average Social Security benefit of $1,230 per month, according to the Social Security Administration. (Google it – it’s a fact).

And your retirement fund would last more than 33 years (until you're 98 if you retire at age 65)! I can only imagine how much better most average-income people could live in retirement if our government had just invested our money in low-risk interest-earning accounts.

Instead, the folks in Washington pulled off a bigger "Ponzi scheme" than Bernie Madoff ever did. They took our money and used it elsewhere. They forgot (oh yes, they knew) that it was OUR money they were taking. They didn't have a referendum to ask us if we wanted to lend the money to them. And they didn't pay interest on the debt they assumed. And recently they've told us that the money won't support us for very much longer.

But is it our fault they misused our investments? And now, to add insult to injury, they're calling it a "benefit", as if we never worked to earn every penny of it.

Just because they borrowed the money doesn't mean that our investments were a charity!

Let's take a stand. We have earned our right to Social Security and Medicare. Demand that our legislators bring some sense into our government.

Find a way to keep Social Security and Medicare going for the sake of that 92% of our population who need it.

Then call it what it is: Our Earned Retirement Income.

99% of people won't forward this. Will you?

Homeschooling Gaining Acceptance Among Society

Researched by Pastor Gary Boyd

The numbers indicate that although many in academia continue to oppose, ridicule homeschoolers, and marginalize them, the movement is increasingly gaining acceptance among many segments of society.

Homeschooling has doubled

USA Today reported last year that in 1999, out of the entire population of school age children, a paltry 850,000 were being homeschooled. However, by the 2011-2012 school year that number had ballooned to 1.77 million, more than double the 1999 numbers. This shows a complete lack of confidence in public schools where the fed’s commoncore is trying to establish a foothold.

Whereas federal numbers only cover up homeschooling numbers through 2012, the Florida Department of Education issued a more recent report showing that the state experienced its largest increase in homeschooling in the past five years under the Obama regime.
"The number of homeschooled children in Florida saw its biggest increase in five years during 2014-15. Last year, the state counted 84,096 children in home schooling, up 9.6 percent from a year earlier," the report said.

Lamestream media lies about homeschoolers

Homeschooling has often been portrayed as something done by "fanatical Christians" or backwoods hillbilly folks who are white separatists, KKK, etc. yet those who homeschool represent a broad cross-section of society as not just Christians, but even atheists, secularists and others increasingly embrace homeschooling because of the ineptness of public schools, violence in classrooms, drug dealing on campus, and not using any type of discipline in the classrooms.

Basically the majority choose to homeschool for the same reason people will leave a company selling a product that they believe is inferior, don’t like, or isn’t meeting their needs.

Teaching values different

One of the most common reasons is a realization that schools are teaching values contrary to those being instilled in children by their parents. Like homosexuality is now accepted and been mainstreamed because of gay marriage.

For example, in California a law signed by Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger mandated that homosexuality could only be portrayed in a positive light. For example, "gay rights" icon Harvey Milk could only be discussed using glowing terms while mentioning that Milk had a strong desire for young boys, classified pedophilia in the real world, is prohibited.

Plus schools are increasingly teaching students that their parents are bigots for believing in traditional marriage (one man one woman) and that transgenderism is normal, although many shrinks will tell you it is mentally unhealthy. Christianity is also attacked in ways other religions are not.

What happened to separation of church & state?

A California court upheld the rights of a school district to prohibit phrases that supported America’s Godly heritage such as "One Nation Under God", "In God We Trust", and "God Bless America" while promoting, at the same time, teachers displaying items pushing other religions. Examples: including an image of Buddha, a poster with Hindu leader Mahatma Gandhi’s "7 Social Sins"; a poster of the Dali Lama and Nation of Islam leader Malcolm X that is all pagan worship. Gee, whatever happened to separation of church and state? I guess it only matters when it is a Christian idea being taught.

Interferes with freedom of speech

Now the screws in these public school prisons are preaching students cannot even read the Bible during recess or pray at the lunch table which interferes with their religious beliefs. In actual state & federal lockups inmates have the right to read scripture because they have representation to back them up. Parents are not as stupid as these left wing teachers think and have caused them to realize that their children are attending schools that are not only openly hostile to Christianity, but are pushing other pagan stone worshipping religious beliefs on their kids. By the way they have no representation in the school system to make the left behave.

In addition, the feds forced introduction of Common Core, with its emphasis on revisionist history while downplaying the greatness of the founding fathers because of them owning slaves while focusing on America’s faults and teaching globalism over American exceptionalism, has resulted in parents realizing today’s Nazi like public schools are nothing like the God fearing schools they patronized.

In 1970’s schools

I remember growing up in Jackson School in the 1950’s where the Christmas music program featured a heavy emphasis on Christmas carols, Christmas plays, Easter egg hunts in the spring, said the pledge of allegiance in class, stopped for prayer time and were taught about the adventurous daring exploits of patriots like Paul Revere, John Paul Jones, Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, Lewis & Clarke and others.

Those schools no longer exist. What they have now is the debacle in the Chicago, Detroit, LA, New York schools, with dropouts the norm, drug dealing mainstreamed, and daily assaults an everyday occurrence. What responsible parent wants that for their children!

Back in the day when I was still pastoring, I had helped research a book detailing the Christian influence on American History. I offered a copy of the book to a history teacher who was also involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Despite the book being heavily footnoted, he thanked me and said he had to be careful in how he taught about the beliefs of the founding fathers.

Kicker is

The kicker is despite these changes by left wing secular progressive groups they tout as being historic improvements, test scores continue to decrease, students quite school to sell dope, with student reading levels at all-time lows, this would have been unacceptable in the generation I grew up in. Compared to the rest of the world American public schools are near the bottom in graduating pupils that can read and write. It is pretty sad when Junior colleges want the freshmen attendees to take refresher courses in simple math, English, etc.

Dumbing down worked

It appears the left wing secular progressive dumbing down program has worked. When you base your so called improvements on a foundation of lies and revisionist history twisting the truth along the way is it any wonder the students are confused and chaotic. So who is the author of confusion and chaos?

Even non-Christian parents can see this and have begun pulling their students out of public schools and introducing them to private or charter schools that have discipline in them. What is ironic is that while teachers and administrators criticize Christian students for old-fashioned traditional values, they are often the first to whine when these same students are removed from the schools by the parents to homeschool or send to private or charter schools.

Hypocrisy

In the ultimate sign of hypocrisy, when these so called "troublemakers" leave to be homeschooled, school officials, teachers, and even some pastors criticize these parents saying they are taking away the good kids from the schools and this is unfair to the bad kids. The thing is their logic is so twisted these near do well educators have no clue that the parents have the right to place their charges anywhere they like. What is truly unfair is paying these incompetent teachers and administrators for not doing their job.

Some local districts in Chicago went so far as to point the finger at parents who jerked their children out of a collapsing failing system to send their kids to charter schools. Their logic is these children were resources that the charter schools were influencing to leave. Say what?

The foolish execs that run lamestream MSNBC had host Mellissa Harris-Perry say in an ad recorded for the network “that children do not belong to their parents, but rather belong to the community.” Sound like Nazi socialists to me, how about you?

She went on to rant, "We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we've always had kind of a private notion of children. Your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven't had a very collective notion of these are our children," she rambled. "So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities."

My question to you is, can you imagine any other business saying to people they had a "duty" to force their kids to buy a product that would deliberately harm them for the good of society?

A business like that would be laughed out of business and would have to file for bankruptcy. Yet when it comes to our public school educational system, the left wing lamestream media think of them for saying similar things.

As our public school systems nationwide become more and more social laboratories of political correctness to where now even disciplining or expelling students for lipping off and disrespecting teachers is essentially forbidden, look for the numbers of homeschool students to increase even more and increases in the charter and private school sectors.

Supply & demand

Human nature will also follow the basic tenets of capitalism which involves the laws of supply and demand.

The reason homeschooling is on the rise is because parents like the product, namely students who are often better educated, have a better fit in the world, make gobs more money, and have the same love of country, and respect for the founders they were taught.
As a result, this is nothing new but simply a return to the early days of traditional America when parents took full responsibility for the education & discipline of their own offspring. Today parents are becoming more involved in the education of their children. They are following the tenets of scripture to “train up their children in the way which is right.” For they are the perfect example of how parents should do and act for their children.

That includes not just lessons from the Bible but every facet of their education.

The Bulls of Basham….Israel Surrounded....Researched by Pastor Gary Boyd

(Part 1 of 3) from David Brennan Blog http://www.IsraelOmen.com

Strange Times

As the crowd of mourners stared at the large stone carefully placed to cover the opening to the cave, their collective emotion of grief now began to mix with confusion. Soon that state of mind would morph into one of stunned amazement. They remembered their friend Lazarus’ sudden illness and the speed with which he had passed away. However, today the man called Jesus had arrived at the home of the grieving family. With sadness marking his face it was clear to all the emotion he felt toward the dearly departed. And no doubt many had already heard about this Jesus. Indeed, it was almost impossible not to have heard about him.
He had been walking the countryside for a length of time accompanied by His followers, preaching a noble unction to the multitudes that was gaining increasing attention. Reports of miracles taking place at almost all of his gatherings were now so prevalent as to be common knowledge in the region. But on this day his journey took Him to the home of Mary and Martha, the surviving sisters of Lazarus. And at Jesus’ request the party of grievers found themselves back at the tomb again. Now this man of miracles made another request that stirred confusion in all present. He asked that the large stone be moved aside from the tomb, exposing the rotting corpse within.
Most likely, two thoughts coursed through the minds of those present on that day long ago. The first was voiced by one of Lazarus’ sisters who pointed out that the body “has been there four days.” And there is little doubt with that knowledge came the attendant understanding of what their collective sense of smell was about to experience. And this, certainly, had to cause many to question the strange request. But others present must have experienced a sense that disrespect was being shown to their departed friend. It was, after all, a brutal request.
It is, however, apparent that Jesus’ powerful reputation won the day, and with it the incredibly strange request to disturb the peace of the dead was granted. And then, in a moment that had to make many cringe, to the one within the cave who could no longer hear, Jesus spoke, “Lazarus, come out!”
And he did.
Any present that had questioned the reports of miracles coming in from the countryside no longer had such doubts to deal with. Instead, now they had to face the challenge of twisting their minds around what they had just seen. And it probably wasn’t easy. But for whatever reason, it was given to those present to live within a time marked by grand miracles. That period of time also happened to mark the most profound of Bible times; the much awaited coming of the messiah. The litany of miracles included not only the dead coming back to life, but the blind seeing, the lame being healed, and such an array of other events as to cause the mind to go on tilt. In that day those that studied the ancient writings for a similar time would find it necessary to reach deep into the past to find one that even remotely compared.
Such a time would be recorded in the old texts of the Jewish Torah, and focus on the strange and unusual events that unfolded in Egypt many years earlier. It was the time that the Jews were held captive there. Such strange occurrences included the sky darkening and the river turning to blood, among other things. And along with those events another significant Biblical time unfolded; it was the beginning of the nation of Israel.
And so it was that after the time of Jesus and this Lazarus had passed, so too did the time of grand miracles, with the world returning to “normal” again. With the passing of many centuries so too would pass many people’s belief that such things had ever really happened. But there is an observation that needs to be made about strange times.
With much banter all about these days that the “times” warned of in the Bible have finally arrived, surely, for it all to be true strange events must be taking place here too. Certainly, a Biblical event of such a magnitude would rival indeed, surpass, the events that took place in Egypt so long ago. Like the time when Lazarus greatly benefited from the human voice of Jesus, the beginning of the time of His return to Earth should be no less unique.
Our Times
The prophecies indicating that the nation of Israel would reform again were thought by many to be allegorical or symbolic and not a literal prophecy to be looked for by the followers of Jesus. In line with that reasoning, many made elaborate attempts to explain it into that which was more reasonable and acceptable. After all, it had been about 2,000 years since Israel had existed as a nation. The chance of such a dispersed people coming back together to form a country in the land of their ancestors was considered, by many, as too farfetched to be literal. Then in the year 1948, after almost two millennia of being scattered, it happened, and in the most unlikely way.
It is one thing for a people to begin a process of knitting themselves together again over the course of years, collectively and methodically gathering the means to accomplish the great task of forming a new nation. But it is another thing when about half of them had just been killed by a mad man, and only a few years earlier.
With the reconstituted state of Israel back after a two thousand year hiatus, along with it arrived the possibility that the much anticipated “times” could possibly be at hand. Since its unfolding other old prophecy appears to be as well. With the Jews retaking Jerusalem in 1967, that city has become the growing “cup of trembling” prophesized in the ancient Scriptures it was destined to become for the entire world. It is, indeed, the focal point of world conflict with the Palestinians just recently declaring it their eternal capital. Unlike other times where they made such boisterous statements, however, this one comes on the heels of the U. N. having increased their status in the world body. As the Palestinian effort toward nationhood in the land Biblically promised to the Jews progresses, it comes at a time when uncanny events portend a dire warning to the United States.
It is strange thing that the prophecies concerning the “times” are so quiet concerning a nation as powerful as the United States. And considering that America is the great protector of Israel, it is a significant thing. For when the “times” appear we know from the ancient Scriptures that Israel will face the world alone. Although the world is increasingly turning against the Jews, the U.S. is currently a great big fly in that ointment of prophecy.
The juxtaposition of America’s power verses the prophetic silence about America is one that must be dealt with if the “times” are, indeed, upon us. It is as though a lion lost its roar, teeth and claws, remaining only a shadow of its former self. To go from super power to super impotent is also an event of great significance in the world. As the only nation, in addition to Israel, begun on a Biblical foundation, such an occurrence is Biblically significant. And considering that America is responsible for having spread the Gospel to many corners of the Earth, there is, no doubt, a certain relationship between it and the Lord. As such one would think an array of warnings would be seen prior to a great take down. And it appears that, perhaps, several have been appearing over the last several years.

The Bulls of Basham….Israel Surrounded
(Part 2 of 3)

Warnings

For a brief moment when one reads a certain Scripture in 1 Thessalonians there appears a strange juxtaposition of words. It is in chapter 5 where the reader is exhorted that…
… the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!’ then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
It is stressed that some terrible event will occur suddenly, taking people by surprise like a thief does to those he targets. But then, immediately after such a dire warning is issued, the reader is told to “watch and be sober” so that this day should not “overtake you as a thief.” It becomes clear that although the event will be a great surprise for many, those that “watch and [are] sober” do not have to share in the shock. Like a thief leaving a trail of clues that his arrival is imminent, this great event appears to do the same. And since it is compared to “labor pains upon a woman,” it seems to arrive only after a series of lesser events have occurred, representing clues of its approach.
Such a trail of clues may have appeared in recent years, allowing those that “watch and [are] sober” to gain a sense that the “thief” is, perhaps, approaching. One such warning comes from an obscure Scripture in Isaiah 9:8-12. Since the sudden events of September 11, 2001 this Scripture, has come to life. In his book “The Harbinger,” Jonathan Cahn explores the eerie litany of Biblical warnings that appear to have sprung forth from that horrific September day. The Scripture provides the reader with a litany of detailed warnings given to Israel many years ago, at a point in time in which they had moved far away from God. The warning came in the form of an incursion against their nation by an enemy. It wasn’t a full scale invasion, just a destructive localized event. But its success was meant to shock them back to their God. However, they missed the Divine warning and continued on their previous ungodly course. Then, since they did not turn back to God, something vastly worse happened. But this time the warning is not directed toward modern Israel, but to the only other nation dedicated to God at its founding, America.
In the case of the Isaiah 9 warnings, fulfilled in detail on 9/11 and its aftermath, there is an eeriness associated with it that grows as it unfolds. There are nine “harbingers” within it to be exact. Although there is not space here to delve into them, suffice it to say this about each: all nine happened in the required order, and on the ground where America was dedicated to God by the Founding Fathers. As such it appears that America has been taken back to its ground of dedication to receive its warning. Unless all of this is nothing more than a massive conspiracy of coincidences, it constitutes a strange event in our time. To put it in simple terms, the fulfillment of this warning is so unlikely that it’s occurring appears to be supernatural. Now back to the “thief” and those “labor pains.”
Perhaps some would say another conspiracy of coincidences has been occurring as well in The Israel Omen events. The thirteen events covered in my two books now appear to place the skeptic in a position of having to choose between one of two choices to explain them. One option is to claim they are, again, nothing more than a massive conspiracy of coincidences. But as their litany grows, that option becomes increasingly difficult to sustain. The other is to recognize that something strange is occurring that qualifies as supernatural and carries with it a warning from the Divine.
For those of you that have read The Israel Omen, what is found within the final chapter, titled “The Next Catastrophe” is a brazen attempt at forecasting a future catastrophe based on a political action. There is a “matrix” designed to accomplish the task. This “matrix,” referred to as the Political-Catastrophe-Matrix, looks at the ten events covered within that book and extracts what appear to be three distinct political triggers associated within them. Then, on that basis it goes on to speculate as to what kind of actions on the part of the Obama Administration (which at that time had just taken office) should coincide with a historically significant disaster. This, at the top of page 171…
The first effort [of the Obama Administration] should break new ground, probably marked by some grand gathering of the Quartet. Another “Matrix” action could be a major shift in U.S. policy against Israel…
It is one thing to study past historical disasters for political “triggers” common to calamity. But it is another thing for future events to confirm those triggers. And, in fact, both observations on page 171 were fulfilled with eerie success.
In the quote the reader was led to look for the Obama Administration to break new ground against the Promised Land. Essentially, it looked for an action that had never before been accomplished; and on April 20, 2010 that is exactly what happened. After months of pressuring Israel to suspend construction in East Jerusalem as a precondition for negotiations to begin, the Jewish State ceded to those demands, effectively reducing their control in the Holy City for the first time since 1967. However, on that same day, something else of note took place: British Petroleum’s “Deep Water Horizon” rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico.
This coincidence fulfilled the 1st trigger.
The second political action indicated on page 171 led the reader to look for a major shift in U.S. policy against Israel. Indeed, on May 19, 2011 the president accommodated the “Matrix” with just that. So onerous against Israel was his new policy that a series of the president’s strongest supporters immediately came out against it, including Senate Majority leader Harry Reed. But the most significant was Obama’s Middle East point man, George Mitchell. About a week prior to the president’s big speech, Mitchell’s resignation was announced by the White House. This was strange in light of the fact that his area of diplomacy, the Middle East, had just reached the zenith of world attention. But the message from his resignation was clear, telegraphing to the diplomatic world his intense disapproval of the new harsh policy against Israel. It was a policy that would jeopardize the security of the tiny state by dramatically reducing its borders to the point of being indefensible. Although his resignation letter was announced just a week prior to the president’s May 19th speech, it was dated April 6th, a full five weeks earlier.
The only logical explanation for the delay was because efforts were being made to persuade him to withdraw it. Had his resignation been announced after the president’s speech, then from that would flow the logic that the delay was designed to not disrupt the speech. But it was announced before the president’s speech, indicating a high intensity of opposition to the new policy. And there is little doubt that its announcement could have only been at Mitchell’s insistence, demonstrating a willingness to displease his president. By releasing it before the president’s speech, a signal of disunity within the president’s foreign policy team was sent to the world, and that had to be quite disturbing to him. Mitchell’s obvious insistence on it being released before indicates the intensity of his opposition to the new policy. Because of that intensity it is reasonable to conclude his resignation letter was written quickly after he realized what the new policy was to be. This means, through logical deduction, that the new policy was settled upon some days just prior to his writing the letter. So based on the Mitchell resignation letter dated April 6, it appears the new policy shift against Israel was determined around the 3, 4 or 5th of April, 2011. Coincidentally, on April 4, 2011 the worst tornado rampage in “world history” began accompanied by the worst flooding since 1927.
It is strange, indeed. But there is more and quite recent.
In The Israel Omen II, I cover what appears to have unfolded behind the scenes within the Obama Administration pertaining to Israel. Although some have criticized it as being overly critical of the president, it is now increasingly confirmed by unfolding events. And just for the record, I was critical of the previous three presidents as well. During his first term Obama has changed U.S. policy toward Israel in the clear direction to what the Palestinian side wants. And this has been done without much regard for the security of Israel. Yes, they have received great amounts of military hardware from the U.S., but that cannot offset the loss of security that will result from the loss of lands he seeks to remove. He has pushed aside assurances from previous presidents, given to Israel to extract concessions from her, in order to enact his plan. No doubt, this has to be quite disturbing to the leadership of tiny Israel, not knowing what U.S. commitment will fall next. He has not visited Israel as president, but instead went early to Egypt, and gave an initial nod of approval to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood which eventually took over there.
It is this same Muslim Brotherhood, as noted by Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post, who during the recent flare up in Gaza experienced a “stormy meeting” relating to what to do about Israel. The debate centered on whether or not to make war on Israel immediately, or wait until the Egyptian military is better prepared. After much heated debate, those in favor of more military preparation prevailed. But the cease-fire stopping that conflict was even worse.
Since it was brokered by Egypt’s President Morsi, the same one seeking Israel’s destruction, it has granted his increasingly repressive regime a form of legitimacy in the “peace” process that is completely unwarranted. And it places Israel on the same moral plane as Hamas. This is how Glick puts it.
At best, Israel and Hamas are placed on the same moral plane. The cease-fire erases the distinction between Israel, a peace-seeking liberal democracy that simply wants to defend its citizens, and Hamas, a genocidal jihadist terrorist outfit that seeks the eradication of the Jewish people and the destruction of Israel.
And even worse, as Glick notes…
Moreover, Obama and Clinton compelled Israel to accept wording in the cease-fire that arguably makes Egypt the arbiter of Israeli and Palestinian compliance with the agreement.
It is not difficult to understand that the act of placing one’s enemy over you, in any form, is a tacit alliance with them against you. In this case the enemy is one that had, until only recently, been ruled by a dictator friendly to peace with Israel. Apparently, not understanding the consequences of his actions, it was President Obama whose actions early in his administration started a train of events ultimately replacing the dictatorial American ally Mubarak, with the increasingly dictatorial Muslim Brotherhood, an enemy of Israel. Or, possibly, did he understand?
And then there is Turkey. It was Turkey, a powerful Muslim country that formed a kind of alliance with Israel for many years. Each in the relationship benefited, but Israel more, simply because Turkey is a Muslim country. Like the neutralizing of Egypt from the Camp David Peace Accords, the “alliance” with Turkey neutralized another huge Muslim country. But, even though this alliance existed for many years, it suddenly ended during the Obama Administration, with Turkey beginning to take an aggressive attitude toward the Jewish state. And yet it is boasted that of all the leaders in the world, Obama is closest to the Turkish one.
As mentioned earlier Obama placed the new condition of an Israeli construction freeze in East Jerusalem as a precondition for negotiations to start between them and the Palestinians. A moderator to a dispute adding a condition for talks between the parties is a rare thing. And although this action early in his administration was viewed, even by his supporters, as not very competent, he did it again in May 2011. With the Israeli Prime Minister coming to town to offer some new concession toward the “peace” process in a major speech, the president quickly gave his own speech the day before, cutting Netanyahu to the quick and causing him to not even give that speech nor mention its concessions. One of the president’s biggest supporters, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, complained that Obama had “hurt the peace process gravely.” Understanding these two events leaves us in the uncomfortable position of having to conclude whether the president was incompetent or willful in these acts. But regardless of which you choose, the impact of his actions had the same effect. It has forced the “peace” process to the United Nations where Israel is hopefully outnumbered.
Additionally, Obama has stayed Israel’s hand from striking the rapidly advancing nuclear program in Iran. It is a program certain to bring the world to, or, even over the nuclear brink after it comes to fruition. Essentially, after four years of Obama, it is as though a noose has been placed over the neck of the Jewish state, only requiring a little more time to tighten it.
So with Israel increasingly surrounded by deadly enemies on all sides, this unfortunate state of affairs appears to be related to the rise of President Obama to the U.S. Presidency. And this raises another question. Is he a president of fate concerning Israel? Will he be the president that finally achieves the much coveted “peace” agreement between Israel and the Palestinians? In Part Three I will look at that as well as his strange and unlikely rise to power from obscurity.

The Bulls of Basham….Israel Surrounded
(Part 3 of 3)

The Strange “Luck” of Barack Obama

Since the reelection of Barack Obama, numerous reporters, including syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer, have acknowledged what many others are beginning to realize: Barack Obama is the luckiest politician alive. Consider his rise to the presidency.
Race for the U.S. Senate
We see it every election cycle. The Democrats offer a well funded candidate for an open U.S. Senate seat and the Republicans do the same. Then, in addition to the two main contenders seeking the prestigious office, there usually appear a number of minor candidates whose combined vote will represent a small percent of the overall cast. Those minor candidates have little or no money and even less name recognition. The pattern is so consistent that it’s hardly even noticed any longer. However, an unusual exception to this happened in the 2004 U. S. Senate race in Illinois. In this case the exception occurred when a State Senator by the name of Barack Obama, severely underfunded and unknown, became a candidate for that office.
When he entered the race, the Democrats already had a strong, well funded, and well known candidate running in their primary by the name of Blair Hull. And as such they were fairly well united behind him. So, essentially, Hull would have to get past the unknown and grossly underfunded Barack Obama to be the party’s standard bearer in the general election. As is typical in such contests, it would take a miracle for Obama to win the primary against him. If somehow he did win, then he would need good fortune to smile on him again in the general election against the well funded and also well known Republican, Jack Ryan. Amazingly, he would get both of those miracles. This according to the New Republic:
Did not Clarence Page’s own Chicago Tribune and local Chicago newsman Chuck Goudie give unusually heavy coverage of the divorce records of Democrat Blair Hull and Republican Jack Ryan to the benefit of previously invisible, underfunded, candidate with the slenderest of legislative records, named Barack Obama? Was it accidental or a coincidence that the two opponents with the financial resources to bury Mr. Obama in the primary or general elections were relentlessly hammered on “scandals” by the Trib while the same paper ran multipage “puff” pieces on Saint Obama?
Eventually, both strong candidates withdrew under the pressure from what increasingly appeared to be a created scandal, and Obama went on to win the Senate seat. Now, here is a challenge. Try to find another example of such good political fortune. Good luck, it won’t be easy.
The Keynote Speaker
There is a great political benefit derived from being named the keynote speaker for a national political convention. It provides nationwide exposure as well as a platform for those harboring national ambitions. As such it is coveted by many of the most powerful politicians in the nation. In 1984 the well established New York Governor, Mario Cuomo, received the call. He was a major rising star in the Democratic Party. In 1988 it went to Texas Governor Ann Richards, another big name democrat. In 1992 it was Georgia firebrand, and Governor Zell Miller. He was a big southern name at the time Bill Clinton was seeking to consolidate the south. In 1996 it went to the popular governor of Indiana, Evan Bayh. He had established his credentials within the party and was a potential candidate for the presidency in 2000. In the year 2000 the party’s nominee, Al Gore, handpicked his fellow Tennessean, U.S. Representative Harold Ford to deliver it. However, in the 2004 Democratic convention, the keynote speaker was a state senator from Illinois whose distinction was that he was a candidate for the U.S. Senate. His name was Barack Obama. How odd, but, certainly, beneficial to him. Essentially, this man, who was a political nothing, was chosen to deliver the prime time address to the nation. And so beneficial did it prove to his relatively new political career, that he was able to begin running for president just two years later. So, let’s understand this. After only two years since he had been a state senator with the “slenderest of legislative records,” he became a major candidate for the U.S. presidency.
Run For the Presidency
Then, after instantly rising as a major candidate in the race for the Democratic nomination in 2008, he somehow managed to defeat heavily favored Hillary Clinton and the legendary Clinton national political machine. But in the general election, it began to be a different story. After the choice of Sarah Palin for Vice President by the Republican candidate, John McCain, national polls about seven weeks out showed McCain with a slight lead over the unknown Obama. One of the reasons appeared to be the electorate’s discomfort with how little they knew about him, not long out of being an obscure state legislator. After all, the media appeared incredibly uninterested in his past, and like in his Illinois senate race, every media report about him appeared to be a “puff” piece.
Down in the polls, his amazing streak of good fortune appeared to have finally met its match. He had won a U.S. Senate seat under the most unlikely of circumstances. He had been the unlikely choice for keynote speaker four years earlier, propelling the then state senator to national attention. His fawning media allies helped him overcome the Clinton political machine. But now things began to get a little dicey. That is, until fate appeared again by his side.
The Global Financial Meltdown
About seven weeks before the election, an event that had not happened since 1929 began unfolding. Financial institutions that were the bedrock of the American banking system began to collapse in rapid succession, with the Bush Administration taking the brunt of the blame. What precipitated the suddenness of it was unusual. The Bush Administration had been bailing out multiple financial institutions over the course of the previous year to keep the nation’s system from cascading into a total meltdown. But then, and completely out of line with their previous approach, they refused to bail out the investment giant Lehman Brothers. This sudden shift in approach took place only six weeks before the 2008 presidential election.
The reason Bush Administration officials had been dedicated to bailing out those reckless institutions was because the whole system had become so interconnected, creating the potential of giant financial dominos toppling one after the other. But for some strange reason they chose not to bail out Lehman Brothers, and the results were two fold and immediate. First, those feared financial dominos did begin coming down, precipitating the worst crisis since the Great Depression, causing panic among an electorate that was preparing to elect a new president. Secondly, that fear ensured the election of unknown Barack Obama to the presidency. From the moment the crisis broke, the electorate appeared to no longer care about how little they knew about him, preferring “change” without much thought given to its direction. Thereafter, he pulled ahead of McCain never to look back.
The 2012 Election
One must realize that in the 2012 presidential election, three separate and unpredictable events unfolded with two being storms and one a computer system called Project Orca. For starters, let’s look at the storms. Conventions are designed to be a grand send off for their presidential candidates. They are designed to showcase individuals and ideas with an eye on the future. And the 2012 convention cycle was no different. Except this time an unpredictable event occurred that placed the Republicans at a distinct disadvantage. As the Republican Convention was being held in Tampa, Hurricane Isaac took aim for the city. The timing caused one of its four precious days of intense national exposure to be lost. Additionally, its keynote speaker, the Hispanic Florida Senator Marco Rubio, was moved from prime time. This was a significant blow because he was aiming to secure the Hispanic vote for the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.
However, in spite of the shaky sendoff, the Republican candidate began to catch up with the president on the shoulders of a debate performance that served as a catapult for his campaign. And as the race entered the final week, the most reliable polls indicated Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama in a very tight race. Then, incredibly, fate appeared to inject itself again. A new storm, the like of which caused it to be referred to as another “Perfect Storm,” suddenly struck the northeast coast-Hurricane Sandy. What it did was freeze the clear momentum of Mr. Romney dead in its tracks, allowing the president to regain his campaign footing and stop his political bleeding. This from New York Times polling guru Nate Silver just before the votes were counted…
“If President Obama wins re-election on Tuesday, the historical memory of the race might turn on the role played by Hurricane Sandy.
“Already, some analysts are describing the storm as an “October surprise” that allowed Mr. Obama to regain his footing after stumbling badly in the first presidential debate and struggling to get back on course. Some Republicans seem prepared to blame a potential defeat for Mitt Romney on the storm, and the embrace of Mr. Obama by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and other public officials.”
http://www.inquisitr.com/387674/presidential-polls-hurricane-sandy-may-have-solidified-win-for-president-obama/#OHT97oa9aWiUYvlk.99
But as helpful as the oddball storm was, fate wasn’t finished yet. With the race still close, the winner would now be decided by which campaign did the best job of getting out their vote.
The Romney campaign had invested over $40 million in a computer system designed to do exactly that. On the day of the election, there were over 30,000 volunteers ready to reap the benefits of voters identified as favorable to their candidate in the previous months. Millions of those voter’s phone numbers were stored within this vast computer system which was called Project Orca. Then fate injected itself again. In an article after the election titled, “Insiders Explain How Mitt Romney’s Campaign Completely Fell Apart On Election Day,” Business Insider looked at Project Orca’s complete collapse. Project Orca experienced a major failure on the day of the election. As a result the 30,000+ volunteers, ready to call millions of Romney voters, were unable to reach the multitudes. As a result, some percentage of the Romney vote did not turn out. With the combination of well timed storms along with the collapse of Project Orca, the incredible luck of Barack Obama secured him reelection.
Summation
What does it all mean when a no-name politician is suddenly thrust into the leadership of the world’s only super power through a series of the most unlikely, even supernatural breaks going his way over the course of years? Perhaps it means nothing, if there is no peculiar thrust to his presidency. But that is where his uncanny rise to power appears to intersect with his foreign policy. And his foreign policy appears to intersect with the events catalogued within The Israel Omen. First, his presidency does, in fact, have a peculiar, even strident thrust relating to something: Israel. In fact, that thrust has altered the viability of Israel to its core by replacing a friendly dictator in Egypt that kept 40 years of peace with Israel with one steadfastly dedicated to the complete destruction of the Jewish state: the Muslim Brotherhood. It is important to note that this could not have happened without Barack Obama. It was he that signaled early in his administration a form of support for the outlawed group within Egypt. But it is not only Egypt where his actions produced sharp pains for Israel. His friendly policy toward the Muslim Brotherhood has undermined the nation of Jordan, also at peace with Israel, now threatened by a branch of Jihadists associated with the Brotherhood. As of this writing it is becoming increasingly clear that the ranks of the Syrian rebels, fighting against the terrible Assad, are dominated by, you guessed it, Jihadists. If they win their battle to topple that dictator, their new government will soon begin aiming for the destruction of Israel as well. Obama supports them. This dramatic shift within these three nations, all on Israel’s borders, effectively would reconstitute the old alliance against her-the one that sought to “drive her into the sea” many years ago. And all of it rests squarely at the door step of Barack Obama. Without him in the White House, none of this would be unfolding. It was his administration, from its inception, that encouraged the Muslim Brotherhood, something no other president would have imagined doing. It was that action that ultimately spawned the entire dark litany mentioned. But there is more.
The case that he has willfully spiked negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians is solidly supported by his actions, of which even his strongest friends have been quite dismayed. But here too we see a peculiar thrust to his actions; it has driven the issue of conflict between the parties to the United Nations, where Israel is hopefully outnumbered. It is the same United Nations that very recently approved an upgrade in the Palestinian status. That too would have been stopped by any other president. And by directing the “peace” process toward the United Nations, these actions appear to constitute an omen, of sorts, of the direction his actions against Israel will take in his second term. It is becoming increasingly apparent that all of this is setting the stage where the United Nations will be empowered to force some kind of “peace” agreement on Israel. And that brings us to The Israel Omen events.
Within both books the thirteen historically significant disasters appear to have three common denominators associated with them: peace, destruction, and suddenness. As discussed in The Israel Omen II, this recurring theme relating to all of those strange events spell out the Biblical warning of “peace…then sudden destruction.” And if they constitute a Divine warning to those that “watch and [are] sober,” they will only be noticed by those watching. If such historically significant disasters represent a warning, then the culmination of them will have to be a magnitude greater. If that is the case, then these warnings, combined with the Middle East foreign policy of Barack Obama, appear to intersect and represent an ill omen indeed, raising the following question: Is he the one who will bring The Israel Omen warnings to their conclusion with a “peace” agreement between Israel and the Palestinians? It is a good time to “watch and be sober.”

look at 1 Thessalonians 5:9 where Paul clarifies, God did not intend for us to suffer His wrath (At all. Period. End of discussion.) but rather to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Verse 11 commands us then … Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. Why? Because true and faithful believers are not going through the Tribulation period. Is it any comfort to the church when false teachers teach that the church is going to suffer through even one moment of the Tribulation? Remember ... our Messiah did all of our suffering for us - the church is under grace. HalleluYah!

Romans 5:9 states, Much more then, being now justified by His (Messiah’s) blood, shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 states, Wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Yahshua who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Messiah, in Revelation 3:10, says, Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

That was chapter 3, within the picture of the church age. He said this just before the rapture chapter; chapter 4! Come up here!

Lastly, John 3:36 states, He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

May this truth be an encouragement to you, church! (1 Thessalonians 4:18)

Question: "What is the rapture of the church?"

Answer: The word rapture does not occur in the Bible. The term comes from a Latin word meaning “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The concept of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture.

The rapture of the church is the event in which God “snatches away” all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the tribulation period. The rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50–54. God will resurrect all believers who have died, give them glorified bodies, and take them from the earth, along with all living believers, who will also be given glorified bodies at that time. “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).

The rapture will involve an instantaneous transformation of our bodies to fit us for eternity. “We know that when he [Christ] appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). The rapture is to be distinguished from the second coming. At the rapture, the Lord comes “in the clouds” to meet us “in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, the Lord descends all the way to the earth to stand on the Mount of Olives, resulting in a great earthquake followed by a defeat of God’s enemies (Zechariah 14:3–4).

The doctrine of the rapture was not taught in the Old Testament, which is why Paul calls it a “mystery” now revealed: “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51–52).

The rapture of the church is a glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God’s presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, the rapture should be a comforting doctrine full of hope; God wants us to “encourage each other with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

Rapture References
By Jack Kelley

Recently I was challenged to make a list of all the passages in the Bible that hint of a pre-trib rapture. As you may know I believe Paul was the first person on Earth to present a clear pre-trib teaching, about 20 years after the cross. Before that time it was unknown because Jesus didn’t teach it to His other disciples during their time together. And since the Olivet Discourse is directed at Israel, there’s no mention of it there either, even though the end times is in view. Israel will not participate in the rapture.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that doing this requires that you already have a working knowledge of the pre-trib position, because without it you wouldn’t recognize some of these references as being pertinent to the subject. But ever since Paul revealed the rapture, scholars have been seeing hints of it here and there, even in the Old Testament.

Before we begin, in 1 Cor. 2:6-8 Paul explained why God’s plans for the church had been kept secret until after the crucifixion. He said that if the rulers of this age (Satan & Co.) had understood all that God intended for us they would not have crucified the Lord. Not that they could have stopped it, of course. But had they known God was going to use the murder of His Son to save us all, they wouldn’t have gone ahead with it, and in fact would have tried to prevent it. It wasn’t until He was on the cross that they discovered the Lord’s death was going to become payment in full for all our sins, so instead of it being cause for a great celebration it totally disarmed them and made them into a public spectacle (Colossians 2:13-15). Then, 20 years later, they learned about the rapture. These were both things that God had planned from the beginning, but a good general keeps his strategy a secret in order to take his enemy by surprise, so God didn’t let Satan (or anyone else) know about these things until it was too late for him to react. Even now, Satan doesn’t know when the rapture is coming. All he knows is what we know, that each new believer could be the last one, the one that takes us all out of here and beyond his reach forever.

I’m convinced that God’s plan requires the Church to disappear before Daniel’s 70th week begins. Remember, the Lord set aside 70 weeks (490 years) for Israel to accomplish 6 things. (Daniel 9:24) At the end of 69 weeks (483 years) Jesus was crucified, the clock suddenly stopped, and Israel disappeared along with its Temple and Old Covenant worship. Daniel’s prophecy was left incomplete and from that time on, God’s focus was on the church.

The reappearance of Israel in 1948, the promised rebuilding of a Temple, and resumption of Levitical sacrifice during the 70th week make it clear that the Church didn’t end the dispensation of Law but only interrupted it seven years short of its intended duration. We would all agree that if the introduction of a dam into a stream of water interrupts its flow, then it’s reasonable and logical to conclude that removal of the dam will be necessary for the flow to resume. Therefore if the introduction of the Church after the 69th week of Daniels prophecy caused the interruption in its fulfillment, it’s reasonable and logical to conclude that the Church will have to be removed before the final seven years of the dispensation of Law can run their course and Daniel’s prophecy can be fulfilled.

Of course there are other sound reasons why the church has to disappear before the End Times begin in earnest. Not having a destiny on Earth, our presence here would serve no purpose during the time of Earth’s liberation from bondage (Romans 8:19-21). Not being subject to judgment the Church has no unfinished business with God that could be concluded during the End Times. Unlike Israel we don’t need to be made righteous because we’re already as righteous as God is (2 Cor. 5:21).

Jeremiah 30:11 says the End time judgments will serve a twofold purpose, to completely destroy all the nations among which Israel has been scattered and to discipline Israel. Since God does not consider the Church to belong to either group our presence on Earth during that time would be irrelevant.

But the most important reason, as we’ll see, is that God said we won’t be here. Those who teach the Church’s presence on Earth during any part of Daniel’s70th Week have to re-define grace, re-invent the church and re-interpret the Scriptures to support their position.

With that introduction, let’s look at some of the clearest hints God placed in the Scriptures to show He has always planned for a pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Naturally, we’ll begin in the Old Testament.

Enoch Disappeared
Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took Him away. (Genesis 5:24)

In Matt. 24:37, Jesus said that the time of His coming would be like the days of Noah. He went onto explain that just as all the unbelievers perished in the flood, all unbelievers would perish at the time of His 2nd coming as well. Those who survive the devastation of the Great Tribulation will immediately face judgment and be taken off the planet. The parables of the servant, the ten virgins, and the talents explain this, as does the account of the Sheep and Goat judgment. (Matt. 24:45-25:46)

But if you give the Lord’s statement its widest possible application, you can see that as the time of the Great Flood drew near there were 3 kinds of people on Earth. There were the unbelievers who perished in the flood, Noah and his family who were preserved through it, and Enoch, who was taken by the Lord well before it.

Just so, as the End of the Age draws near there will still be three kinds of people on Earth. They are the unbelievers of our time who will perish in the End Times judgments, modern Israel who will be preserved through them, and the Church who will be taken by God well before they begin.

There some interesting similarities between Enoch and the Church. For starters, the name Enoch comes from a root which means to train or teach. To the church Jesus said, “Go and make disciples (students) of all men.” (Matt. 28:19) And according to Hebrew tradition, Enoch was born on the day that would become Pentecost. It’s the same day the Church was born. I believe Enoch was an early type of the Church and his disappearance before the flood gave the first hint of a pre-tribulation rapture.

Lot Had To Leave Sodom
But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it. (Genesis 19:23)

Abraham had struck a bargain with the Lord that if even 10 righteous people could be found in Sodom and Gomorrah He would spare the cities. The fact that the cities were destroyed indicates 10 righteous people could not be found there. But there was one, and though He wasn’t bound to do it, the Lord instructed the angels to get Lot out of town before commencing their judgment. Peter referred to Lot’s rescue from Sodom as evidence that the Lord does not judge the righteous with the wicked (2 Peter 2:7-9) Lot therefore becomes a model of the Church, who with a righteousness imputed by faith, has to be removed from the time and place of judgment before it begins.

Where Was Daniel?
Daniel 3 contains one of the most popular children’s stories of the Old Testament. Many don’t realize that it’s also one of the clearest models of the End Times anywhere in the Bible. King Nebuchadnezzar represents the anti-Christ who decrees that anyone who refuses to bow down and worship the statue he has made will be put to death in the fiery furnace, which represents Great Tribulation. Daniel’s three friends, representing Israel, refuse to worship the image and are thrown into the furnace to die. While in there they encounter the Lord, are preserved through the judgment, and are elevated to positions of honor in Babylon.

But where was Daniel? He was a prominent figure both before and after chapter 3. But in this episode his name was not even mentioned. Did he worship the statue to escape judgment? If you think that, you don’t know Daniel. Did he refuse to bow down but was not accused? If you think that, you don’t know his enemies. After all they rounded up his three closest friends. For the purposes of this story it’s as if he has disappeared altogether. In chapter 3, Daniel was a model of the Church, who during the End times judgments will have disappeared altogether, while Israel will be preserved through them, meet the Lord in the midst of them, and be elevated to positions of honor in the Kingdom Age.

Isaiah Said It Best
But your dead will live; their bodies will rise. You who dwell in the dust, wake up and shout for joy. Your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.

Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.

See, the LORD is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed upon her; she will conceal her slain no longer. (Isaiah 26:19-21)

Without a doubt this is the clearest statement of the Lord’s intentions for the Church anywhere in the Old Testament. It can’t be tied to any event in history, but clearly awaits a future fulfillment. And it can’t be intended for Israel, whose resurrection will come after the time of God’s wrath, not before it. (Daniel 12:1-2)
Someday soon a group of people will suddenly rise from the dead. Another group, still living, will be whisked away to rooms prepared for them to be hidden from the time of God’s wrath. Then the Lord will punish the people of the Earth for their sins. The fact that the groups being resurrected and hidden are not objects of his wrath is indicated by the switch from second person (resurrected and hidden) to third person (punished). Notice how similar the wording is to 1 Thes 4:16-17 & 5:9, Paul’s teaching on the rapture.

But your dead will live; their bodies will rise. (The dead in Christ will rise first).

Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; (After that we who are alive and left will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air)

It’s appropriate to insert John 14:2-3 here as well to see what rooms Isaiah was talking about.

In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

This promise does not point to the 2nd Coming when the Lord will come to Earth to be with Israel here, where they are. This is a promise to the Church that He has gone to His Father’s house to prepare our rooms for us. Then He will come for us to take us there, where He is.

See, the LORD is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. (For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.)

I’m convinced this is the passage Paul had in mind when he said “According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Thes. 4:15). I say this because with the exception of 1 Thes 4:16-17 there is no passage in all the Bible that so clearly describes the pre-trib rapture of the Church.

This is not the sum of Old Testament verses that point to a pre-tribulation rapture. But it’s a good sample of the clearest ones, to help you see that God always intended to take us to be with him before He unleashes the End Times judgments upon the unbelieving Earth.

Obvious By Our Absence?
In His definitive teaching on the End Times, the Lord warned Israel they would be hated and persecuted by all nations because of Him (Matt. 24:9). He said many would fall away from the faith, and would betray and hate each other (Matt. 24:10). He said their Temple would be desecrated by another Abomination of Desolation, and when that happened those in Judea (the New Testament name for Israel) would have to flee into the mountains immediately (Matt. 24:15) He told them to pray that their flight wouldn’t take place in the winter (winters can be harsh in the Judean wilderness) or on the Sabbath (fleeing would violate Sabbath travel restrictions) because the Great Tribulation would be coming and it would be worse than anything man has ever known (Matt. 24:20-21). He said if He didn’t personally intervene not one of them would survive it, but for the sake of the believers among them He would put an end to it at the appointed time (Matt. 24:22). He said false Messiahs and false prophets would perform great signs and miracles to deceive them as the end approached (Matt. 24:24). (Paul confirmed this in 2 Thes. 2:9-10 placing its fulfillment after the rapture.)

He said everyone on Earth will see Him when He comes back (Matt. 24:27) and it will be just like the Days of Noah. Unbelievers who survive the Great Tribulation will be taken away in the judgments that follow His return and believers will be welcomed into the Kingdom to build a new world. All this and more, He said to Israel. (Matt. 24:36-25:46)

But did He speak one word of comfort, or even warning, to His Bride? Did He say He’d protect us through this terrifying time? Did He even acknowledge our existence? No. Not once. Why? Because He was talking to Israel about a time after we’re gone. He left it to Paul to explain the details of our rescue after it was too late to stop what He was about to do for us.

Lot Had To Leave Sodom (Revisited)
“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:28-29)

In Luke 17:26-27 Jesus had been saying how in the days of Noah unbelievers hadn’t heeded the warnings they were given, and didn’t avail themselves of the Lord’s provision for their rescue. They were caught by surprise when the flood came and it destroyed them all.

At first glance verses 28-29 seem like a similar example, but it’s really very different. Lot was taken away from the time and place of the judgment before it began. In fact the angels who were sent to remove him said they couldn’t bring the judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah until Lot was away and safe. (Genesis 19:21-22) As I demonstrated in part one of this series, Lot served as a model of the Church who also has to be rescued from the time and place of the coming judgment before it can begin.

The Resurrection And The Life
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)

This is an amazing statement. The Lord had already said that whoever believes in Him would not perish but would have eternal life. (John 3:16) Here he provided more detail, saying that even though a believer experiences physical death, he will still have life. He was referring to the resurrection of those who die in faith. And then He said there would be some would never die, but would pass from this life directly into the next one. If we didn’t already know about the rapture, we wouldn’t see this, but since we do we can understand that He was talking about that one generation of believers who will be alive when He comes for the Church, and will receive eternal life without dying first. And once again the Lord confirmed that the single qualification for eternal life is to believe that His death paid the entire price for our sins.

What's To Become Of Israel?
When they finished, James spoke up: “Brothers, listen to me. Simon has described to us how God at first showed his concern by taking from the Gentiles a people for himself. The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written: ‘After this I will return and rebuild David’s fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it, that the remnant of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things that have been known for ages.’” (Acts 15:13-18)

It was not quite 20 years after the cross, and the Apostles were meeting together in Jerusalem. None of the New Testament had been written yet. 483 years of Daniel’s 490 year prophecy for Israel (Daniel 9:24-27) had been fulfilled on schedule but with the Messiah’s death everything had come to a stop. Before He died, the Lord had even told them that the Temple would soon be completely destroyed, and after His resurrection He had refused to confirm their hope that the Kingdom would now be restored to Israel. In effect He had said, “That’s not for you to know.” (Acts 1:6) And now Peter, Paul, and Barnabas had given eye witness accounts of the Holy Spirit coming directly upon Gentiles with much prophesying and speaking in tongues. If Gentiles could come straight to the Lord and receive the Holy Spirit without converting to Judaism first, did that mean God was finished with the Jews? If so what would become of Israel and all the Lord’s unfulfilled promises to His people?

James, the Lord’s half-brother, helped them understand what was coming. What we now know as the Dispensation of Law had been interrupted while the Lord takes from among the Gentiles a people for Himself (the Church). In Greek the phrase “taking from” literally means to take out of, or carry away from. It denotes an exit, a separation of time, place, and cause.

After He has taken the Church, James said, the Lord will turn His attention once again to Israel. The Temple will be rebuilt and the remaining 7 years of the Dispensation of Law will run their course. This is the time we know as Daniels 70th week. He concluded by saying the Lord has known for ages that He was going to do this.

Paul's Confirmation
Paul, who was there, explained it to the Church at Rome this way. I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is (or will be) my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” (Romans 11:25-27)

The Greek word translated “full number” was often used in a nautical sense to define the number of sailors, oarsmen, and soldiers required to man a ship. Once a ship had its full number it could set sail for its intended destination. When it arrived it was said to have “come in.” I believe Paul’s intention was to say that the Church has a “full number” and once that number is reached it will set sail for its intended destination, heaven. No one on Earth knows this number and that’s why no one will know the day or hour of the rapture in advance.

Some commentators believe the same thought was conveyed in Genesis 7 with the Ark. It had to contain 2 of every kind of animal, 7 of the “clean” animals, Noah, his 3 sons, and their 4 wives. That was its full number. Once they were all aboard, the door was shut and the Ark floated away.

When the Church’s “full number” has “come in” to its heavenly destination God will turn His attention once again to Israel and the final 7 years of Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy will be fulfilled, culminating in the Lord’s return to establish His Kingdom. This is the Kingdom promised to Israel that Daniel said would never be destroyed, or left to another people, but will endure forever. (Daniel 2:44).

The Rapture Goes Public
They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. (1 Thes 1:10)

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (1 Thes. 4:16-17)

For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thes. 5:9)

These are the rapture verses, named for the Latin translation of the Greek word harpadzo, which means to be caught up or snatched away in English, and which appears in 1 Thes. 4:17. In part one of this series I showed how closely they resemble Isaiah 26:19-21. I believe Paul was using Isaiah’s words to support his claim that this wasn’t just his idea, but had been announced by the Lord nearly eight hundred years earlier.

With the first letter to the Thessalonians Paul gave the first clear promise of a pre-tribulation Rapture. When He called Jesus the one who will rescue us from the coming wrath in chapter 1, he meant that sometime before the seal judgments of Rev. 6, which signal the beginning of God’s wrath (Rev. 6:16-17) Jesus will separate the Church from the time and place of the End Times Judgments. (Look up the full meaning of the Greek word translated “from” in 1 Thes. 1: 10 to confirm this.) In Chapter 4 he said this separation would happen when the Lord comes to take us to be with Him in Heaven. First, believers who have died will be raised up. Then, we who are still alive will be snatched away with them to meet the Lord in the air. Then in Chapter 5 he repeated the reason for our sudden rescue. It was never intended that the Church would suffer through the time of God’s wrath.

Say That Again, Paul
Between the two letters we call 1st and 2nd Thessalonians something happened that would have scared the recipients right out of their socks had they been wearing any. They received a letter that appeared to be from Paul but was in fact a forgery. According to 2 Thes 2:1-2 it said the Day of the Lord had already come. Confused and frightened, they dashed off a hurried request for clarification since this new letter contradicted what Paul had previously taught them.

Here we get an extraordinary insight into their understanding of the sequence of End Times events. Receiving word that the Day of the Lord had come would only have upset them so much if they’d been led to believe that the Rapture of the Church would precede it. Think about it. From any other view, this kind of news would have been scary for sure, but their fear would have been tempered by a certain amount of joyous anticipation. Sure the next few years would really be rough, but whether by martyrdom or survival they would soon be in the presence of the Lord forever.

But from the pre-trib perspective, hearing that the Day of the Lord had come would be horrifying, because it would mean that they had missed the rapture. And that would mean they weren’t saved. No wonder they wrote Paul for clarification!

It’s important to understand that they had asked Paul two questions. The first concerned the Day of the Lord and the second was about our being gathered to Him, the Rapture. Paul answered the 2 questions in that order using verses 3-5 to describe conditions that would bring about the Day of the Lord and verses 6-8 to explain when the rapture would occur in relation to them.

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? (2 Thes. 2:3-5)

Confirming and amplifying Daniel?s 70 weeks prophecy (Daniel 9:27) and the Lord’s warning from the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24:15), Paul pegged the beginning of the Great Tribulation to the moment the antichrist stands in the Temple in Jerusalem proclaiming himself to be God.

And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. (2 Thes. 2:6-8)

Before the antichrist can be officially revealed, One who is currently limiting the power of lawlessness has to be taken out of the way. The phrase “out of the way” literally means out of the midst, or from amongst. Some force that restrains the power of evil within certain predetermined limits (for this power is already at work on Earth) has to be removed.

Scholars who read the passage literally identify this force as the Holy Spirit. And since the Holy Spirit is sealed within us, if He’s taken out from amongst the people of Earth, we have to go too. You can’t take the Restrainer without taking the container, as someone has said. This is the Rapture of the Church, and once we’re gone the power of evil will be free from restraint and all Hell will break loose on Earth until the Lord returns at the end of the Great Tribulation to put a stop to it.

Here then is the sequence. Before the Day of the Lord can come, the antichrist has to be revealed, and before he can be revealed the church has to be raptured. So according to Paul the next prophetic event involving believers will be our own disappearance.

We concluded with Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians. Written about 20 years after the cross, they were the first definitive teaching on the rapture given on Earth, and as we saw Paul placed it before the End Times judgments, saying the Church was not appointed to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thes. 5:9).

About three years after the Thessalonian letters Paul wrote 1 Corinthians and in Chapter 15 added more detail to his rapture teaching. We’ll begin the final installment there.

What Will We Look Like?
In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul was teaching about the resurrection, responding to questions about how the dead will be raised and what we’ll look like. He used an example from agriculture to describe it. You can’t tell what a plant will look like by examining the seed. You have to plant it and wait till it grows. When it does the plant will look different from the seed, but the farmer will recognize it as having come from the seed he planted. He said that’s the way is with us. We can’t enter Heaven in our earthly state, so we have to be changed into our heavenly state. When we are, the splendor of our heavenly body will be different from the splendor of our earthly one, but we’ll still be recognizable. Just as we can we can tell the sun from the moon and the stars from either and from each other, so it will be with us. We’ll all be unique, recognizable individuals.

Then in 1 Cor. 15:51-53 He wrote;

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

The Greek word for mystery means secret. By saying he was going to tell them a mystery, Paul was saying he was about to reveal a secret. And here it is. When the Lord comes down to meet us in the air we’ll receive no advance notice. In one instant we’ll be going about our business here on Earth and in the next we’ll be standing in the Kingdom. It will happen so fast we won’t have time to blink our eyes. We’ll hear the Trumpet call of God and the voice of the archangel and we’ll step out of this world into the next one. As we look around we’ll realize that multitudes of believers from the Church Age have joined us. The dead will have been given new bodies and the living will have been transformed from mortal to immortal. Paul said we’ll know as we’re known (1 Cor. 13:12), so just as the Lord will recognize each of us, we’ll recognize each other. And John said that what we’ll be is not yet known, but we know that when He appears we’ll be like Him (1 John 3:2) To me that means we’ll have the same capabilities that He demonstrated after His resurrection.

Don’t confuse the trumpet we’ll hear with the 7th Trumpet of Rev. 11:15. In the first place what we’ll hear is the trumpet of God, mentioned elsewhere only in Exodus 19:13 & 19. The 7th Trumpet is blown by an angel in Heaven, announces the beginning of the Great Tribulation, and is never called the last trumpet.

As I said, the phrase Trumpet of God only appears twice in the Bible. The first one is in Exodus 19 at Mt. Sinai and the last one is in 1 Thes. 4. There are some incredible parallels between the giving of the Law and the Rapture of the Church. And as you might expect there are also some big differences. We’ll look at the similarities first.

Both are accompanied by the audible voice of God and both create a Kingdom. At Mt. Sinai the Israelites were redeemed from slavery, at the Rapture we’re redeemed from sin. They were consecrated, we’re perfected. They washed their clothes, we’re given clean clothes. God came to the Mt. top, Jesus comes to the air. At Mt. Sinai Moses and Aaron went up, at the rapture we go up. At Mt. Sinai Israel was wed to God. At the Rapture the Church is wed to Jesus. At Mt. Sinai God dwelt with Israel and at the rapture the Church will dwell with Jesus.

Since many Biblical models are necessarily incomplete, there are also some obvious differences. Only Moses and Aaron could ascend the mountain. Anyone else going up passed from life to death. At the rapture we all go up and everyone passes from death to life. God promised to dwell with Israel if they obeyed. We will dwell with Jesus because He obeyed. They changed themselves temporarily, He changes us permanently. Theirs was an event accompanied by great fear, ours is an event anticipated with great joy. After all Mt. Sinai was the presentation of God’s Law, and the Rapture is the manifestation of His grace. God blew the First Trump in Exodus 19 in preparation for the giving of the Law, and will blow the the Last Trump in 1 Thes. 4:16 to initiate the Rapture.

Rescuing The Righteous
Abraham had reminded the Lord that His character wouldn’t allow Him to judge the righteous with the wicked. Even though the negotiated requirement of 10 righteous men to spare Sodom and Gomorrah hadn’t been met, God instructed the angels to remove Lot before destroying the cities. Speaking of this Peter wrote, “If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.” (2 Peter 2:9)

Peter wanted us to see from the example of Lot that it wasn’t an isolated incident but was meant to convey a general principle. The Greek word translated “from” in the NIV is more clearly rendered “out of” in the King James. It means away from the time and place of the event being referenced. We see a similar idea conveyed in Isaiah 57:1:

The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.

Here the Hebrew word translated “taken away” means to gather in, receive, or remove. God’s character is such that He can’t allow the righteous to be punished with the wicked.

The 7 Churches Of Rev. 2-3
In a previous study I`ve demonstrated how the seven churches of Rev. 2-3 chronicle Church history. I showed how the first 3 churches (Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamus) have all disappeared and the remaining 4 (Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea) are all present today. Viewed in chronological order and compared to Church history these four represent the Catholic, Protestant, Evangelical and Apostate churches of today.

In Rev. 2: 22-24 the Lord warned that some from the Church in Thyatira will face the tribulation while others will be rescued and share in rewards that are uniquely reserved for true believers, which includes the rapture. The distinction will be made on the basis of their beliefs. Those who’ve remained true to the Gospel will go while those who adhere to the Catholic church’s “Jesus plus Mary, grace plus works, and Scripture plus sacraments” doctrine will not.

In the letter to Sardis, which represents the main line denominations, Jesus warned of dead orthodoxy having only the appearance of life. “Remember what you have received and heard and obey it.” He said, “Or else you won’t know at what time I will come to you.” He was referring to the Gospel, and notice He said “to you”, not “for you”. Many in the main line denominations don’t know they need to be born again, haven’t got a clue that we’re in the end times and have never even heard of the rapture. As in Thyatira, he said there are a few in Sardis who have remained true. They’ll walk with Him for they are worthy. Once again some will be taken and some left based on what they believe.

Philadelphia is often called The Church of the Rapture because of the Lord’s promise to keep us from the hour of trial that’s going to come upon the whole world (Rev. 3:10). The Greek word translated “from” here is the same one Peter used in describing the Lord’s ability to rescue godly men from trials. Remember it means away from the time and place of the event being referenced, in this case the End Times judgments that are coming upon the whole world. Because we’ve kept His word and not denied His name, He has promised us a place in the New Jerusalem, where only those whose names have been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life can enter (Rev. 21:27). This is the Lord’s personal confirmation of a pre-trib rapture, which when John wrote this in about 95AD had been taught on Earth for nearly 50 years.

The “Church” at Laodicea is really an apostate movement, a spiritual rebellion. Although it has been around throughout the Church Age, its current prominence is a sign that the End of the Age is approaching (2 Thes. 2:3) Thinking of itself as rich and self-sufficient, it lacks the one thing money can’t buy, a Savior. He’s outside the door knocking, hoping someone will hear. There’s no promise to rescue the group, who will be spit out of his mouth, only to individuals who hear and respond.

Come Up Here!
At the beginning of Rev. 4, John was called forward to the End of the Age and up into Heaven to observe and report on events that were nearly 2000 years in his future. When he arrived at the throne of God he saw a group never before seen in any of the Bible’s pictures of God’s throne. Isaiah didn’t see them (Isaiah 6) Ezekiel didn’t see them (Ezekiel 1 & 10), and even Daniel, whose vision was oriented in the End Times only saw a vague hint in the form of plural thrones (Daniel 7:9). I’m speaking of the 24 elders sitting on thrones encircling the Throne of God (Rev. 4:4)

These 24 elders confuse some people, but they shouldn’t. Their appearance gives them away. They have thrones, so they’re rulers. They surround the Throne of God, so they’re assisting Him. They’re seated, so their work is done. They’re dressed in white, so they’re righteous. They’re wearing crowns, so they’re kings. It’s the Greek “stephanos” crown so they’re victors, overcomers. They’re called Elders, a title associated with the Church. That’s a pretty strong case for them representing the Church, and no one has ever come up with a better one.

Some try to explain the 24 thrones by saying that they belong to an unidentified group of ruling angels. But four prophets saw the throne of God and recorded their experience. Of the four, only John saw them. And note that the Church won’t receive crowns until the Bema Seat judgment that takes place after the Rapture. Is this a symbolic view of the church in Heaven before the judgments begin? It looks that way to me.

The Song Of The Redeemed
And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men (us) for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them (us) to be a kingdom (kings) and priests to serve our God, and they (we) will reign on the earth.” (Rev. 5:8-10)

This is a controversial passage and taken by itself it’s difficult to understand. But even though most of the modern translations read like the one above, both the King James Version and Young’s Literal Translation put the passage in the first person plural as I’ve indicated in parentheses. The first person version helps supports the view that the 24 Elders represent the Church.

Also the Greek word for King and Kingdom is the same, differing only by gender. King is the masculine form and is the one that appears in Rev. 5:10. (Kingdom is feminine.) So the verse is more grammatically and theologically correct when it’s translated Kings and Priests, which define the Church, rather than a kingdom and priests. And there’s no other group that fits the description of verse 9. Finally, the song is more consistent with the context of the passage when it’s sung by the redeemed Church, not by a third party singing about the Church. Taken together Rev. 4-5 present a good circumstantial case for the Church being present in Heaven before the wrath of God begins in Rev. 6. As we’ve already seen, this is what the Bible has promised from the beginning.

Who's That With The Lord?
Speaking of the anti-Christ and his 10 king confederacy Rev. 17:14 says, “They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

This is an overview statement that describes the Great Tribulation, during which Satan, working through the anti-Christ, will attempt to assert his ownership claim to Planet Earth. Rev. 17:13 says these 10 kings will have only that one purpose during the time of their reign. In Rev. 3:10 Jesus called that time the hour of trial that’s coming upon the whole world. In Matt. 24:21 He called it the Great Tribulation. Rev. 17:17 says that the Lord will agree to their rule in order for them to accomplish His purpose, not theirs, and that’s to destroy the Great Prostitute. Once they’re finished with her He’ll appear to personally oversee their defeat. And guess who’ll be with Him when He returns? His called, chosen, and faithful followers. That can only be the Church, in Heaven during the Great Tribulation, and returning with Him at its end.

From Genesis to Revelation, the overwhelming weight of evidence, some circumstantial and some testimonial shows that the Lord always intended to remove the Church from Earth before the End Times Judgments and to hide us in His Father’s house until His wrath has passed by. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
Liberty Tree, I guess I have to post this for the ... (show quote)

Here is the proof also.... look at 1 Thessalonians 5:9 where Paul clarifies, God did not intend for us to suffer His wrath (At all.

I repeat there is no rapture in the bible, you're gonna be looking for someone to rapture you away and the antichrist will lead you down primrose lane. Don't let no man deceive you. That means you.

Ziggy, there have been topics on the rapture, and when you don't study the bible into the Hebrew or Greek original meaning, like in the strongs concordance you will be lead astray. In other words there is no "rapture" we are all going to be here to witness "that day". To put on the whole armour of God. The 10 virgins parable. Who comes first? The anti-christ or Christ? It's best to verify your own interpretations on the bible. Look for those posts here on One Political Plaza to read and understand. Paul says that "that day will not come until the man of perdition comes first, then Christ. Don't be deceived for when Christ come and you're off looking for Oil "truth" that door will be shut and He will say "I never knew you".
Ziggy, there have been topics on the rapture, and ... (show quote)

PLease read.... look at 1 Thessalonians 5:9 where Paul clarifies, God did not intend for us to suffer His wrath (At all.

Maybe that's why you believe in the rapture because of what I replied. "Your christ because the antichrist comes first,'and you believe in that rapture. I'm waiting and working on earth (field) for my Christ at the 7th Trump. Re-read and you will see that you read without understanding, you need to earnestly talk to God about your understanding perception. Rightly Divide the Word of God.

Of course now that we know that the entire seven years of the Tribulation is YHWH’s wrath, we look at 1 Thessalonians 5:9 where Paul clarifies, God did not intend for us to suffer His wrath (At all. Period. End of discussion.) but rather to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
