Actually someone filmed that crowd early in the day and used those numbers. Yes, Rich is using crap from Politicususa and trying to convince us all that his false way of working is true. So many other places for him to use that are maybe about 1/2 right.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, this is Detroit, home of the Godless Socialists so maybe that was the crowd. I do know that Trump has a way of drawing a crowd wherever he goes...

By he way, this was taken at 7:30 in the morning.

"How do they determine what those needs and wishes are, I wonder?"

Follow the money. You want something from a politician? Get on the donor list and you'll get some attention.

Unemployment could have ended the first year by fixing the 60,000 bridges that still need fixing.

The problem is that most of the public, including liberals, actually believe that the President is responsible for the state of the economy. He has only the right to veto a spending bill. The economy belongs to Congress.

BZZZZZZT! Incorrect! Government, in any and all of it's shapes or forms, does not 'create' jobs or anything else. Government is a parasite on the economic activities of the populace it portends to govern. Entrepreneurs create jobs as a by-product of doing business with each other. Government takes from productive people and provides whatever government dictates to those unfortunates who are governed. Only through the ability of the Federal Reserve System to print by fiat the money government consumes, can it function. If they were forced to tax the electorate directly for the funds required to operate in their current form, Government would be much smaller and more manageable.

There are a lot of bridges in need of repairs throughout the US and that's an indisputable fact. Those bridges are in need of repair precisely because their maintenance falls under the purview of government. Had they been privately owned, no doubt they would have been better cared for and jobs would have been created for this purpose. Private owners would have directed sufficient funds to the upkeep of not only bridges but all of the myriad infrastructure we now see falling apart before our eyes. Unlike politicians, private owners have a vested interest in the upkeep of their equipment. A politician has no incentive to look past the next election cycle.

They say that those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. This little fiat money experiment has been tried many times before and every single time it failed spectacularly. http://dailyreckoning.com/fiat-currency/ This time will be no exception.

National Socialists

In German, 'na' is how the letter 'N' is pronounced and 'zi' is how the letter 'S' is pronounced. NS was the acronym for 'National Socialist'. Yes, boys and girls, Hitler and his government were socialist to the core. National Socialists actually. As with all socialist ideologies, coercion was their main tool because nobody in their right mind is going to subject themselves to socialist ideology voluntarily.

I think Margaret Thatcher put her finger on it when she said that socialism works just fine until you run out of other peoples' money. What she failed to mention was how a complicit central bank can generate all the fiat 'money' a socialist government could wish for with the stroke of a pen. No need to bother the populace about taxes or other such mundane things, just print it up and inflate the value away, and the people - forced to accept this abomination through legal tender laws - remain none the wiser.

One last quote: "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Winston Churchill

I believe we already had something like that way back in the latter half of the 18th century. Didn't learn then and haven't learned now. The only way to ensure that this situation never happens again is to make sure that anyone who so much as suggests the remote possibility of deviating from the plain language of the legal basis of government power be immediately taken to a place of execution and put to death, then revived, then put to death again, in an unending loop. Nope - can't do that either. Can't abridge first amendment rights. Oh well. Guess we just allow ourselves to be trampled then.

“And you know, maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try, it won’t happen.”
In other words, this is it. This is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! No matter where you find yourself in this entire planet, you will be subject to some form of government diktat. here is not a single place on this entire planet where you can be truly free of government intervention. How sad.

Quick civics lesson:

US Government - divided into three branches: Legislative, Executive and Judicial.

Legislative Branch - divided into two houses: Representatives and Senate.

So far so good, right?

Now, let's get through the easy ones first: Executive - Faithfully executes all laws. Elected by Electoral College. Judicial - Settles disputes by applying Constitutional and Statutory law. Members appointed for life by Executive with advice and approval of Senate.

Legislative Branch:
House of Representatives originates exclusively all laws relating to expenditure (power of the purse) and any other laws members deem appropriate. Members popularly elected by the general population. Senate originates non-expenditure laws members deem appropriate and approves or otherwise amends laws referred from House of Representatives. Members popularly elected by general population.

It is generally accepted that a political officeholder has a loose obligation to represent those who elected him/her. Notice both House and Senate are popularly elected. That is not the original intent of the US Constitution. Originally the Senate was composed of members selected by the State governments, not the general populace, and thus gave State governments a voice in the federal government that was silenced by the 17th amendment in an attempt to stem alleged political corruption (yep, seriously). So now a senator, instead of paying attention to the advice and consent of the government of the State he/she was sent to represent, takes said council directly from the general populace. Just like the house of Representatives.

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why we have both sides of the legislative branch answering to the same body politic? How about a quick synopsis on why the states have no need of a voice in federal political business?
