"If Scarborough The Secretary Killer is innocent, then he's got nothing to worry about, right?"
I'll bet all the hundreds (maybe thousands) of innocent people who were falsely convicted of crimes they didn't commit, and were sent to prison, or worse, THE DEATH HOUSE, probably said the same thing. They all thought to themselves "Hey, I'm innocent, I've got nothing to worry about," that is, until the jury foreman read the "guilty" verdict, and the accused, who thought he had "nothing to worry about," heard the judge pronounce sentence upon him, and saw the guards dragging him away to prison, or to Death Row.
I mean, all the time, you read about it in the newspapers, where someone who has been in prison or on Death Row for years, or even decades, is proven innocent and released. Unfortunately, there may be others who are rotting in jail right now who might have been wrongly convicted as well, but have not yet been able to establish their innocence, and probably never will, because their lawyers are incompetent, because the police and the courts are unconcerned, because nobody will listen to them, or simply because no one cares.
There have even been cases where people were executed, but were proven years later to have been wrongly convicted, but by that time, it was too late to save them, because they were already dead, killed by the state! This is one of the many reasons that a lot of people are against Capitol Punishment.
As for Joe Scarborough, he was already proven innocent years ago, because he was able to prove that he was miles away from the scene of the so-called "murder." In any case, the body of the dead woman was carefully examined, and they couldn't find any evidence to even remotely suggest that she had been murdered, by Scarborough or anyone else. Indeed, the facts indicated that the "victim" ACCIDENTALLY fell down, and hit her head on her desk, which is what killed her. If that's the case, then no crime was committed, so there's no need to arrest anybody, or question them, or bring them into court, or anything, since it was SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN THAT THE CAUSE OF DEATH WAS AN ACCIDENT!
Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot -- guys like you DON'T BELIEVE IN SCIENCE! You're just like Donald Trump and his fellow Neanderthals. I wouldn't be surprised if one of your ancestors was a juror in the Scopes "Monkey" Trial.
Even if they do arrest somebody in connection with the secretary's death, and bring that somebody to trial, it is not his job to prove his innocence, because the burden of proof is not on the defense, but on the PROSECUTION, whose job is prove that the defendant is GUILTY!
Anyway, you can't just declare someone "guilty" on mere suspicion, or rumors, or innuendos, or because someone DEMANDS that the accused be arrested and brought into court, or for questioning. That's how things were done in the oppressive societies of the past, like Ancient Rome, Ivan The Terrible's Russia, Imperial China, Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union (as well as the other Communist countries), the various South American "Banana Republics," etc, or the modem day totalitarian states, like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, Red China, and so on.
It is NOT how things are supposed to be done in a free society, such as ours.
Enough said!
