In a state we are seeing a different dynamic than the electoral college that decides the US presidential elections, in states we are seeing red controlled states that may have a significant edge in registered voters that favors democrats. We know and fully understand that these states vote heavily republican in lightly populated rural areas, and democrat in heavily populated cities and suburbs...

...and republicans don't like it, they reject the constitutional and democratic premise that supports majority control, republicans do not support highly populated cities being allowed to control how the state does things.

This is in a nut shell the same premise that fuels the national concept of sparsely populated states having the same say that states with huge populations do.

Democracy is about majority control, not any of the concepts that shift control to minority populations

With all this horse crap about fraud, democrats typically outnumber republicans with registered voters, when they get out the vote they win, that's how it works...and the bottom line is that the right wants nothing to do with making it easier to vote for those democratic majorities living in cities. They want nothing to do with making voting safer and more secure when making it easier to vote comes with that territory. The want chaos and confusion so that elections can be contested and overturned.

The right knows full well that making voting easier and more secure means they lose the control their minorities have cheated and fought to keep.

Garland has been coming under increasing criticism for not going after those in trump's administration involved in attempting to overturn the election.

Of course the right will scream and yell about any attempts to hold anyone accountable being nothing but overreach by the Biden administration going after trump people the left hates. Meanwhile the left sees it as avoiding any optics of political bias, saying that not going after anyone that broke the law is worse than using the office to go after political foes.

Well, Garland made it clear that he intends to act with a blind eye towards any political agendas, and adhere to the rule of law. He vowed that anyone including those at the top who have broken laws will be prosecuted...

In conjunction with that the house has indicated that they will be pursuing the clearly stated letter of the law pertaining to interfering with the faithful execution of election procedures, and that there could be as many as a thousand people with sights set on them for criminal prosecution referrals. There has already been talk that over a hundred republicans could be in violation of supporting an attempted coup.

Trump didn't call in any reinforcements for three hours.
Days before the insurection, the National Guard was called up. The Police departments of Washington DC, Alaxandrea, Arlington and other suburbs were on alert and they had a plan if things went south. The first thing I noticed was that some of the croud at Trumps speach was dreassed for combat. If I was in charge, I would have immedatly called up the National Guard, and the near by police departments, as the croud was cruseing for a bruseing. It takes aprox 20 minuits to walk from the White House to Congress, pleantly of time for alerted PDs to act.
The next thing i noticed is that the Capitol police didn't use any tear gas. When the BLM protesters were in front of the White House, it was heavily used. I also noticed that there were very few Capital police.
The thing that was totally horrifying was nothing was done for more than 3 hours. Trump did nothing to prevent the storming of the Capitol. I think this was his last ditch effort to overthrow our government.
