Unlikely it caused any. Just like the Covid-19 is not the major cause of many of the deaths.

Fake news. You should have read more carefully. Some financial organisation - the article purposely omits that info - made a loan to the consortium of which Trump was a member. That financial organisation then turned around and put a package of commercial loans together and sold shares in that package. That is what the term “securitised” means. If you have a mortgage on your house, it is quite likely that loan is no longer owned by the bank you thought you took the loan from - instead that bank may have put together the loans on 50 houses and “securitised” those loans by selling shares in the package to entities that wanted the steady income from a source that is secured by real assets. Instead of putting money on deposit at 0.1% interest, the holders of the securitised assets might be getting, say, 2%.

The point is that there is no relationship established between the mortgagee and the holder of securitised paper.

Fake news.

We need to look back at what made this country great. We have to understand that shared responsibility was a big part of our lives. We all paid our fair share.

We use to have great education, stable retirements. We have to protect the gains this country had with the ACA. Provide a public option and expand medicare. The republicans ignore education, they want to destroy retirements. They want to cut medicare.

We want to return to the US to the Paris agreement. This country use to lead the world in reducing pollution that causes Climate Change. Republicans deny science, but science tells us we have to go further. Democrats may not all agree on every detail of the best ways to bring change. But democrats agree that there is a need. And Change will only happen if the democrats win the next election..

One thing this nation is beginning to learn by now is that republicans occupying the White House and running the US senate are not interested in progress. There only interested in Power. And following the Trump agenda of isolating this country from the free world and aligning with the nation that are under dictators like Russia, Saudi Arabia and North Korea. 3 1/2 years not one bad word out of Trumps mouth about these nations. China everything Trump says negative about China is done with a wink and a nod.

Republicans have shown there willingness to kick millions off healthcare, there ignorance and eliminating Pre-Existing conditions. Even during a a public health crisis. Even as there’re willing to spend a trillion dollars on wealthy tax cuts. Then create a stimulus package and hand the wealthy billions more.

Republicans have given polluters unlimited power to poison our air and water. Trump with one EO enabled them to pollute and not only tax cuts and $1 trillion stimulus allow them to pollute and further fill there pockets, create tariffs that harmed farmers and just give them billions for a problem created by republicans.

Republicans and Trump principals of the rule of law is non existent, and they continue to stamp out voter rights and forget transparency, that’s gone Trump just ignores any request for checks and balances it’s like the constitution doesn’t exist.

Democrats do have a war chest of policies that can actually bring this country back again from bankruptcy, the republicans have a massive propaganda network and right wing conspiracy theories, with total disregard for the truth. Just read OPP made up of southern racist there only to happy to repeat Russian propaganda never mind there right wing conspiracy theories.

This crisis reminds us that government should work for all people, not day in day out playing a blame game, downplayed the seriousness of this virus, but that facts and science matters, transparency matters and most of that gets ignored by Trump. Does the rule of law matter in this country not with the current administration.

We need Americans to unite not watching the daily ongoing corruption with in the White House , Trumps self dealing and flat out meanness like we have seen for 3 1/2 years. We need all Americans from both sides of the political spectrum to gang together. So please all Republicans wake up and push those southern racist back into the swamp that emerged when a White nationalist got elected.

But the wealthiest corporations received a 19% tax cut and added loopholes in the tax code that’s deficit spending.
Then Trump signed a series of EO to deregulate and the most serious was deregulating clear air and water act that put more funds into the corporate elite pocket. Then this nation ends up in a national pandemic and we the tax payers have to bail out the same corporations that are paying zero taxes. When does the Republican agenda of throwing 97% of this country under a bus. How is it my tax dollars go to a corporation that pays zero taxes
We need to look back at what made this country gre... (show quote)

We will start by identifying the corrupt who used their public offices to enrich themselves and prosecute them, jail them if appropriate, but definitely confiscate their ill gotten treasure and put it back into the public purse.

In tandem with that, cut the money trails to Soros and others that are trying to take down our country.

Unseal the records of BO so the world knows his background.

That would do for a start.

The President has the constitutional power to adjourn both the House and the Senate, and lots of powers given via laws passed through over the decades. Also, the “War on Terror” was convened but never ended, so President Trump can legitimately title himself as a wartime president, separate from the soft words about a war on this virus.

I am impatient to see him use those powers. However, his plan seems to be to first detox the American public off the fake news and socialist narrative. At least the American people are getting a close up (temporary) taste of what socialism/communism looks like thanks to the several Democrat governors who just can’t pass up the opportunity to flex their autocratic muscles while they think they have the upper hand.

They won’t last long once the floodgates break and Americans stop being polite.

Now that Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has made the valiant decision to exit the presidential race, the last flicker of Republican hope to keep the White House and the Senate has been extinguished.

Almost, that is.

You hear it all the time, people throughout the country at their wits’ end complaining that there is absolutely nothing Washington can agree on. But there is one glaring exception. The one thing I am certain every politician, pundit and politico alike knows is the truth, even if it’s tucked in the furthest crawl space of their mind, is that if this presidential election is conducted with even somewhat fair conditions, it will result in a Democratic victory. I know very few people who disagree with this, because the data is clear. If this country is allowed to exercise its right to vote freely and fully, it is quite simply not going to vote to have the next four years look like the last four years.

If this country is allowed to exercise its right to vote freely and fully, it is quite simply not going to vote to have the next four years look like the last four years.

Despite having gone through President Donald Trump’s impeachment ringer, former Vice President (and presumptive Democratic nominee) Joe Biden has never been down to Trump in the polling averages the entire primary — and is frequently up by double-digit margins, nationally. He is up in North Carolina, he is up in Arizona, he is up in Wisconsin, has never been down in Michigan or Pennsylvania, and is even up in what has become the political no man's land of Ohio. In 2016, Trump won voters who disliked both him and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by 17 points — right now, Biden is winning those voters by over 30. House Democrats are up with women — the critical bloc that propelled us to victory in 2018 — by 20 points. If this trend continues, not only will Biden be president, but also Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Cory Gardner of Colorado, and Kentucky's Mitch McConnell’s Senate majority will be all but a bad nightmare, as well.

The Republican way of dealing with this contingency was on full display in Wisconsin last week, where years of deep-rooted gerrymandering came to a head. In perfect harmony, a right-wing Wisconsin Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court declared they would rather risk people’s lives than work with the state’s Democratic governor to help voters discharge their civic duty safely. Can any of us imagine what these same Republicans would do to keep their fangs hooked in the presidency and the Senate come this fall?

That is why, during this moment of crisis, it is now the single most important political imperative of elected Democrats to demand as many measures to protect and expand the right to vote in the coming stimulus bills as possible, including election security funding so secretaries of states across the country have the resources necessary to conduct an impartial election. With a fair election, Republicans are on the precipice of losing control of every single governmental branch. Despite all the many warnings, Republicans ran down the rabbit hole with Trump so far they can no longer see the sun — and now it’s time they pay the price.

It’s plain as day: Republicans can only win by chilling the right to vote. If all elections were fair, there wouldn’t have been a Republican president since before Bill Clinton. Take the 2000 presidential election. Vice President Al Gore would be transcribed in the history books as President Al Gore if it weren’t for a right-wing Supreme Court and the vote of a 5-4 conservative majority. And yes, there is still a 5-4 right-wing majority in the Supreme Court. Chief Justice John Roberts is no moderate; he's as much of a partisan hack as Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, or Trump himself. Roberts’ vote to prevent Wisconsinitesfrom mailing in ballots, just so they could literally avoid dying, was as blood-red as it gets.

Thus, Republicans know their fate in November is grim if they can’t suppress the vote. But Democrats now have power in their hands to fight back. Democrats: Do not tuck your tails and run scared of Republicans' PR machine. Rather, make expansive voting rights measures a requirement of the next stimulus bill. Right now, Republicans are fist fighting a hurricane with no good option. They can either allow Americans to continue dying, and the economy with them, or they can suck it up and expand the right to vote.

Coronavirus distancing protocols are likely to extend far longer than imagined — which makes measures like universal vote-by-mail critical. Democrats should rip a page from the playbook of Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and require states to mail a ballot to every registered voter with a paid-for return envelope. Unless a person has died, they cannot be illegitimately removed from voter rolls and should get a ballot sent right to their mailbox like everyone else.

We should also use this moment to finally make good on bills like those proposed by Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., requiring paper ballots — that coincidentally cannot be hacked — in the coming presidential election. Make no mistake: bad actors like Russia are going to try and elect Trump again. And with states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania and others reportedly draining their election security funding to help fight back against COVID-19, it is imperative that any future stimulus funding include at least $2 billion to replenish states’ war chest to fight back against potential breaches.

In 1863, in what is universally regarded as the most famous (and perhaps best) speech ever delivered on American soil, President Abraham Lincoln said that a government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish. If you listen close, you can again hear the distant bugle of Father Abraham ringing from the caverns of American history, calling us to arms, to defend his vision: That every American, no matter who you are, must be guaranteed the right to vote.

If we fight our hardest in this moment to achieve this imperative, this era of American darkness will soon be over.

(The question begged is whether cons will allow a free and fair election. They are running out of time. There are more old white people dying than are replacing them leaving their ideology vulnerable to becoming irrelevant.)

Now there is a laugh!

I’ve just heard that if a patient is admitted to hospital with Covid-19, Medicare automatically pays the hospital $13,000 under the current scheme. If that patient then goes onto a ventilator, the hospital gets paid another $39,000. 50% of patients that go onto a ventilator die. I have to ask which direction is the cause and effect?

What could possibly go wrong?

Is Brexit back on the table?

With Boris Johnson hitting the Intensive Care Unit , there is an opportunity to flip the Brexit switch.

A lot of people would love to get the U. K.'s resources right now.....

If the worst happens.... maybe a possible sea change might be happening in England.

Labour could vote no confidence and wrest control...

Said one physician treating Covid-19 patients in hospital, “Once the escalation to the ventilator treatment has commenced, if the life signs do not stabilize, the future does not look encouraging”.

With the admission of Johnson to the ICU the turnover to a new Minister for Britain seemed unavoidable.

The resulting quarantine at 10 Downing Street was high drama, not least because Mr. Johnson is engaged. His fiancee, Carrie Symonds, is an analyst with a local maritime charity. Her condition as an expectant mother has alarmed many with her partner registering positive of Covid-19. When the news was made public that she was displaying some of the same Covid-19 as Boris Johnson, anxious subjects looked askance.

Doctors are not yet knowledgeable concerning the effect of the Corona virus on pregnant women and fetuses. As the pandemic of Covid-19 unravels, Ms. Symonds will continue to experience life at the front line of the Corona virus. Johnson had formerly admitted to being medically obese, as this was a significant vulnerability attribute for the Covid-19 virus.

At the present time global fatalities due to the Covid-19 virus tallies at almost 75,000.
The shaping of a tragedy couldn’t come at a worse time.

Anyone on a ventilator should consider it with their doctor before agreeing to go onto the ventilator (you won’t be conscious enough to hold that discussion once on the ventilator). 50% of the Covid-19 patients that go into a ventilator die. A nurse friend has said that normally they put people on ventilators for 2 or 3 days max - because people with pneumonia get too tired to breathe for themselves. With Covid-19, it seems to be oxygen uptake by the blood that is the issue, not the breathing muscles - like it’s a blood chemistry thing. Apparently CPAP machines are as good or more effective than ventilators on this. She says that with this virus, once someone goes onto a ventillator they can’t wean them off and the human body just doesn’t tolerate being paralysed or anaethstatised for two or more weeks. That accounts for the 50% deaths. after that long, people just can’t start breathing on their own again.

Facing those realities, I’d opt for the CQ side effects every time.
