100 Million people are on some sort of entitlement. More than have jobs. Is this the Obama vision? Is this the welfare state he has created?

The House Republicans have not passed any of Obama's jobs bills, not one, zip, nada, zilch or more people would be working.

The GOP filibustered the "Veterans Jobs Corps" bill that did not add anything to the deficit. It would have trained a million veterans in jobs like, policemen, firefighters or national park rangers. And now, no thanks to the mean spirited GOP, we have 900,000 veterans on SNAP and other government subsidies. I swear they do this just to have something to complain about.

The President tried to pass an infrastructure jobs bill and that was voted down.

A President is only as powerful as his Congress, and in this case he has no Congress. I think they have scheduled 16 working days for themselves between now and 2014. And I doubt that anything will get done on comprehensive immigration either.

There were 600 Conservative leaders at the WH last Tuesday hoping to get Congress to vote for the comprehensive immigration reform. They have even threaten to cut donations to their elections and Congress just ignored them.

Just remember, every bill that a president needs to pass goes through Congress, so if it isn't happening, it isn't going to happen. No jobs, no high speed trains, no infrastructure repairs, no smart grids, no nothing unless Congress passes them.

Gov. Rick Scott refused federal money to build a high speed train in Florida, and it would have created 23,000 jobs. That is just how interested the GOP is in getting people back to work. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE LEAST!

Just take a ride in a convertible or boat and look up at the undersides of bridges, I swear you would not drive on them after you see all of the chunks of missing concrete , broken grids and the rust.

The last major bridge collapse was in 2007 in MN. One hundred people were injured and 13 died. It will happen again.

What are you talking about? How did he get taxes raised in this congress? I know he stood for tax increases on those making over $250K but lost support in congress. That's what caused sequestration - when neither the House nor the President could agree. The continuing resolution a few weeks ago was a continuation of the same budget standoff. I don't know what you think I am selling? Re-read the post. Are you tax-happy to the point of pretending they were raised when our GOP congress has actually stood its ground and prevented them from being raised?
What are you talking about? How did he get taxes ... (show quote)

Yep, Obama managed to get some revenue during the 2012 fiscal cliff deal, it wasn't what he wanted. It was in exchange for the SS CPI. The older a person is on SS the less they will receive. You know it can't be a Republican deal if they are not attacking those with less.

BTW, Obama was able to stop the Bush's tax cuts, that went into effect January 2013. He did not stop the tax cuts before because they were in a deal that the Republicans made with him in 2011.

I believe the President got $600 billion in revenue and that would not even pay for one of Bush's trillion dollar wars. Without more revenue this deficit will never be paid off. All the GOP wants to do is cut, cut, cut, cut, us right into austerity. And that will be devastating for America.

He did want to start taxing the wealthy at $450 thousand, but you know how obsessed the Republicans are about taxing the poor, he lowered it to $250 thousand. And now all of the GOP governors are taxing the poor. They just can not win.

Unbelievable taxing the rich unthinkable, cutting SNAP for straving children -- no problem.

If tax cuts for the wealthy and big corporations, you know, the job creators, actually created jobs -- we would be swimming in jobs today. We will be paying for Bush's tax cuts for the next 10 years. Seriously, they do not work.

The depression was Bush's not Obama's. It started in December 2007, and that was a year before he left office.

What do you think Obama's $789 billion stimulus package was for? You know, the one that Republicans voted against and then took credit for. Yeah, that stimulus bill.

Yep, they took credit for the jobs created in their districts, and at the same time complained that stimulus was a job killer. Yep, seriously, a JOB KILLER. They will latch onto Obama's coattails whenever they get the chance, even after stopping him at every corner.

Depressions start under Republican presidents because of their lackadaisical way of governing. The 1929 Great Depression started in October 1929 under Herbert Hoover, after Calvin Coolidge "Silent Cal" served four years.

Great Depression

Tax raises run up a deficit? Seriously, no wonder a Republican president has never balanced a budge. TAX RAISES PAY OFF DEFICITS. LACK OF TAXES IS WHY WE HAVE THIS "FREAKIN'" DEFICIT. TAXES ARE "YIKES" REVENUE, SPENDING RUNS UP THE DEFICIT!

The Republicans have not passed a jobs bill since taking over the House in 2011, if people were working and paying taxes the deficit would have been cut in half by now. GET REAL!

Clinton's "1993 Budget Bill" had $2 of revenue and $2 of spending, that is how he balanced the budget. I know a lot of you think that his budget was balanced because of Newt's government shutdown and some said we needed more government shutdowns. So, was Obama's budget balanced? We did have another government shutdown, you know.

Thanks for complimenting me on my "shoveling sh*t" capibility. Actually, I was shoveling YIKES! FACTS! What is wrong, did I blow a hole in your "small government" theory? You can not run a country or a state without taxes, it hasn't worked before and it will never work in the future.

Not only does Texas have 6 million people living in poverty, Gov. Perry has refused to expand Medicaid to help those poor people who are existing because of his governing and comedian Jon Stewart took notice. ( I thought I would bring you a video from Comedy Central - Enjoy)

Those governors who are refusing to expand Medicare are sitting in their taxpayers funded Governors Mansions, collecting a federal paycheck in one hand while the other hand is in the "government cookie jar". And all the time enjoying their ride on the "Federal Gravy Train" and listening to Mark Knopfler and Sonny Landreth's "Gravy Train".

First up, Gov. Perry, who bragged about having a $6 billion "rainy day fund" and takes $6.4 billion from Obama's big government. And you wondered why Texas never seceded after President Obama's 2012 election, now you know they are freeloading parasites, the "takers" that Romney complained about.

Here is the good news: In the 12 months ending September 30, the U.S. had its smallest budget deficit in five years. At $680B, it is still larger than George W. Bush's highest year...not to mention Obutthead has added $7T to the National Debt in less than 5 years.

Of course President Obama's $680 billion revenue is higher than Bush's, he taxes the rich and Bush taxed the poor. Do you not understand why the poverty in U.S. is caused by "small government"? No correlation, uh? Evidently not because the right just keeps taxing the poor and then wonder why they need SNAP or other government subsidies to survive.

The deficit, under Obama, rose because no one was working and we were still on Bush's Tax Cuts, those did not end until January 2013. The U.S. was going through the worst recession since 1929 and it started on Bush's watch, December 2007.

The population of Gov. Perry's Texas is 26 million and 18% or 1 in 5 Texans live in poverty. This state has the highest poverty rate of "any large industrial state". And only 80% of Texans have a high school diploma, the lowest in the country. Two metropolitan areas have the highest number of poor people, McAllen - Edinburgh at 37% and El Paso at 24%.

Employment only is not an excellent gauge for a good economy, there is the question of quality of life.

There was not even an RFI issued prior to issuing the contract. Oracle; Booz Allen & Hamilton, IBM, HP, etc., etc. could have done it for less and BETTER. My career was in Information Technology, but really, Amazon compared to ObamaCare, you have got to be joking --talk about pea brains. There is absolutely no comparison between the two, absolutely none, zilch, nada, zip. Unflippingbelievable.

Amazon handles millions, possibly billions of different products every day in different languages from all over the world, it handles credit cards, shipping information, packing instructions, etc. You can view products you are going to purchase, you can zoom and out to see potential purchases close up, and I can see it having a price tag in the billions.

Amazons capabilities are not needed in OCare. And since Congress holds the purse they did not let the President have the money needed to get a reputable company to build his healthcare network, he did the best as he could. OCare cost $112 million and now Oracle will be repairing the glitches, and they are one of the best.

So, you can remove that broom handle from your butt and try not to get your panties in a wad. ObamaCare is going to be just fine.

Think Obamacare is a mess now? Wait until all those amnestied criminals get hooked up.

Yep, OCare is a mess and that is what happens when Congress did not give the President the money to hire experts. They tried to repeal OCare 45 times, at a cost of $60 million taxpayers dollars and failed.

Then they took to their townhalls and spent $55 million more of taxpayers money, and that failed.

But, when it came to giving the President the money he needed to put out a quality product they said "nope", we can spend all of the money we want because we hold the purse.

I think Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IO) summed it up when he said "The Republicans would not let us fund it."

The coding in the healthcare program is 10 years old because he could not hire experts. And now he has hired Oracle to straighten out the mess.

The other thing that is really hypocritical about this is that most of the Republicans complaining about the botched product where there when George W. Bush's Medicare Part D was rolled out, on January 1, 2006, with about as many glitches as OCare.

Congressman Barton said "This is a huge undertaking and there are going to be glitches".
Congressman Murphy said "It is going to take a little adjustment".
Congressman Burgress said "I do believe that fundamentally it is a good plan".

And yet, under Obama the sky was falling, what a bunch of amateur actors.

Some of the headlines after Medicare Part D was implemented:

Los Angeles Times - January 17,2006
Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program Is Plain Bad Medicine

The Sacramento Bee - January 7, 2006
Medicare: Some Unable to Get Needed Medicines

Union Tribune - January 12, 2006
Medicare Law Trips Up The Poor, Pharmacists Say Some Will Die For Lack Of Medicine

Milwaukee Michigan Journal Sentinel - January 16, 2006
Medicare Part D: Not Ready For Prime Time

Some of those sound really familiar.

You betcha! Maybe the President can pass some jobs bills and get people back to work. I have never seen a group of people so set against the poor being on SNAP and yet they will not raise the minimum wage or pass jobs bills.

Just seeing some of the rightwingers standing in the Senate and saying "if you do not work you do not eat" makes me want to throw something at my TV. It is just unbelievable the way they think, or do not think.

Maybe he can even pass comprehensive immigration reform. I am sure Reagan didn't have as many problems giving amnesty to the 3 million immigrants as President Obama is trying to give citizenship to the 11 million who are waiting now. Of course, Reagan had a Democratic Congress.

I know infrastructure and closing Gitmo are on the Presidents agenda, yes, lets hope we can win back the House.

Well, this "demented liberal" is going to jump right in and annoy the right. When it comes to the American economy Cruz absolutely was Freddy Krueger "slicing and dicing" $24 billion out of it and causing 800,000 jobs to be lost -- going backwards must be progress for you people.

The Democrats will win Virginia, mark your calendar, they made the big mistake of electing Gov. Bob "ultrasound" McDonnell, an anti-woman extremist, and now Ken Cuccinelli is on the ballot? The "Cooch" wants to ban birth control in the year 2013, NOT 1913 -- 2013! And who know what his Lt. Governor elect E.W. Jackson has on his agenda.

I seriously do not believe Cuccinelli will win, especially after trying to ban oral sex -- yep, his wish made it all the way to SCOTUS and they threw it out. Now, my questions are how would he have known when people were having oral sex? Mandated a camera in every bedroom? How would he have monitored every bedroom across Virginia? Maybe, he would have put an "Intrusion Room" in the governors mansion where he and his administration could monitor all bedrooms across Virginia. And you thought NSA reading your emails and listening to your phone calls was invasive -- you really have weird sense of humor.

Terry McAuliffe is winning women by 20 points in a state where women voted for Obama by 57% in 2012. Actually the women of Virginia won that state for him. Nationally 55% of women voted for Obama and 44% of women voted for Romney. The right will not be winning anymore presidential elections if the goal is too change women's sex lives.

Blue Virginia: Wascon Center Poll: McAuliffe 45% - Cuccinelli 38%
http://www.bluevirginia.us/diary/10532/wason-center-poll-mcauliffe-45cuccinelli-38 (11/1/13)

Now the Attorney Generals race is much closer and that could be a real problem for Virginia's women. Mark Herring (D) is leading Mark Obenshain (R) 45% to 42%. In 2009 Obenshain wrote a bill telling women who were having miscarriages to report it to the police within 24 hours or go to jail. The Virginian's became so outraged that Obenshain backed off.

The last poll that I saw on the Republican Party's unfavorable rating was not good:

Women - 63%

Age 65 + - 65%

Independence - 67%

White college grads - 70%
