Anigav6969,
Yeah, I know what the post said, my post was as much to him as it was to you. He didn't say that he hated the people, just having his tax money going to support some, perhaps to THEIR detriment, as it allows (encourages) the father to leave the home and mothers to have more out of wedlock children.
I took it that he meant those able bodied blacks (and probably whites) who willingly accepted the largesse instead of supporting themselves and keeping the family together . (Number of blacks and whites on welfare are about the same, considerably higher PERCENTAGE for blacks).
I am an OLD (past 80) southern white man who grew up in the south except for my tour of duty in the air force during the Korean war....If anyone should be biased, it would be me.
When I first enlisted, about 22 years old, I was put in charge of about 7-8 other recruits to travel by train from Florida to Texas for basic training. Two of the new recruits traveling in the group were black. We had a layover in New Orleans and had time to eat lunch at a local restaurant, I had the food chits with which to pay, being in charge. The waiter looked at the group, and said that he could not serve the blacks in the dining room but they could eat in the kitchen. After a little discussion/argument, WE ALL CHOSE TO EAT IN THE KITCHEN TOGETHER. I have always felt that there weren't really many white patrons in that dining room that would have objected to seating the blacks in the dining room, but that the waiter was bowing to a MINORITY of VOCAL patrons, much like today's world. Because...when we exited the restaurant I was very surprised at the number of people who waved and smiled and showed their approval of our actions.
That was many years ago, if we haven't made any progress since (polls - 53% think race relations are worse now than when Obama took office), maybe we need to wise up, recognize the real problem, and do something different.
I understand, and agree, that it is very hard for me to FULLY understand the problems of the black citizens because I haven't been subjected to the same (perceived) bias. I live in the same world/country and I do feel the blacks are victims, just not of racial bias as the race hustlers are trying to convince the black population that they are. I can understand the resentment the blacks feel when they are being told incessantly that all whites hate them because they are black, that just creates more bias in both races. Have you been paying attention to what Obama and Holder have been doing lately, along with Al Sharpton, using the national stage to tell the blacks about all the white racial biases. You think that is helpful????? What effect do you think that has ? any ?
If it really is necessary to "walk in the other person's shoes" before we understand the problem, we will never reach a solution..Some things, with a little compassion, we can figure out for ourselves if we care to.

Thank you for your service.
Blacks have the same opportunity as Whites. It's what you do with them that counts.
