Zhengzhou scrambles to test 12.6 million residents in 6 hours
Global Times 2022-01-08 22:17

China's speed is again on display in Zhengzhou city, capital of central China's Henan Province, in the latest mass nucleic acid testing which started on Friday. Reports say Zhengzhou has completed the sampling of 12.6 million residents in just 6 hours -- 2.1 million people per hour or 583 residents per second.

Observers say this is a swifter response than that of Xi'an's, a city that has reported more than 1,900 cases so far as it has fought the latest COVID-19 flare-up. It shows that Zhengzhou city has obviously learnt a lesson from Xi'an, where some local health officials have been punished for negligence.

"So far, every city has its own pre-arranged planning in dealing with COVID-19 based on the local population," Lu Hongzhou, head of the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen and member of the Shenzhen expert committee of national disease control and prevention, told the Global Times on Saturday. He added if a plan is announced, it will be strictly implemented.

For nucleic acid testing, every region has established professional teams. Wherever a resurgence of infections occurs, the local team can respond quickly while neighboring cities can provide logistics help promptly, Lu said, noting "this is the distinct advantages of China's political system."

"And the reason Zhengzhou city is able to respond so quickly this time, I believe, is that is has learnt a lesson from the past and made full preparations for a flare-up," Lu told the Global Times.

Thanks to China's envious speed of response, the country is able to nip any local resurgence in the bud and successfully prevent the caseloads from exploding like the US and other countries, observers noted.

On Saturday, Zhengzhou city issued a notification ordering all primary, secondary schools and kindergartens in the city to halt in-person classes from Monday. From now on, all Party and government organs, enterprises and institutions at all levels in the city shall properly arrange work to avoid congregation of employees. Also, from noon Saturday, citywide catering businesses will be suspended, and instead, food take-outs will be provided.

The Chinese mainland on Friday reported 95 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, according to the National Health Commission's daily report on Saturday. Of the new local cases, 43 were reported in Henan, including 24 in Zhengzhou. Henan has reported a total of 188 local cases in this round of outbreak, 42 of them from Zhengzhou.

How were these people punished? Maybe we need to start punishing officials.🧐🧐👍👍

It’s Called ALEC.

The American Legislative Executive Council,
Passing laws you haven’t heard about , yet.

Just for you, since you seem to know so much about ALEC.

https://alec.org/about/

The American Legislative Exchange Council is America’s largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators dedicated to the principles of limited government, free markets and federalism. Comprised of nearly one-quarter of the country’s state legislators and stakeholders from across the policy spectrum, ALEC members represent more than 60 million Americans and provide jobs to more than 30 million people in the United States.

All Americans deserve an efficient, effective and accountable government that puts the people in control. ALEC provides a forum for experts to discuss business and economic issues facing the states. The ALEC model policy library is home to dynamic and innovative ideas that reduce the cost of everyday life and ensure economic freedom. ALEC ideas and publications are the product of countless hours of research, debate and discussion and serve as a toolkit for anyone who wants to increase the effectiveness and reduce the size, reach and cost of government. ALEC is proud to offer real solutions to the top issues facing the states, and the strength of the ALEC family is proof that good ideas are better when shared.

ALEC is a forum for stakeholders to exchange ideas and develop real, state-based solutions to encourage growth, preserve economic security and protect hardworking taxpayers. ALEC members understand the importance of hearing from all sides of an issue and value public-private partnership in policy discussions. Job creators and state legislators alike come to ALEC to offer important policy perspectives to ensure economic security and opportunity in their communities.

By joining ALEC, state legislators gain the competitive advantage of shared knowledge and experience, as they are able to learn from one another about what policies have succeeded or failed in the states. Similarly, business leaders and policy experts are able to discuss the real-world implications of potential policies with state legislators who best know their communities and economic landscapes.

At ALEC, ideas drive the discussion. Innovation and technology are at the forefront of members’ conversations, and ALEC is home to experts who stay ahead of the issues and who provide continuing education to members about the effect changing issues will have on the Americans.
In 2015, ALEC leaders engaged in a strategic planning process to guide the ongoing success and expansion of the organization through its 45th anniversary and beyond. These new developments will ensure ALEC grows even stronger and more effective in engaging its member-ship to lead national conversations on free market thought. Read the strategic plan to learn more about our future.

We elected lying cheating politician we believed at the time and then failed to hold them to the standard they promised in their campaigning. We also failed to real in the federal government allowing it to become so large and ominous in design they already control everything.

We talked apart but we don’t take action. We have got to bring the federal government under control as best we can starting with serious term limits for everyone from the Supreme Court of the United States all the way down to the mayor of the city state level. No more than six years get the hell out after that. If they can’t get anything accomplished in that six your time. Then the showing or not worthy to be there any longer than that that’s for sure.

Close our borders down I’ve talked about this 1 million times get our country under control and when we do reopen it required that the illegal alien at the time produced the documents necessary to properly read them if they cannot they are not allowed in. And limit the capacity to 50,000 a year no more . Enforcing immigration laws already on the books we don’t need new laws we need to enforce what is there.

If a politician is alleged to have participated in an illegal act, he is suspended from the job until there’s been a true determination not a white washing or a black washing, sorry about that racism pun, but suspended without pay. If he’s found not guilty of the charge then he gets pay retroactive but the hell with letting these guys get away with the crimes they do still maintaining their jobs to continue with the same BS etc.

Get rid of lobbyist altogether, get rid of united citizens all together… get rid of the duplicity of government positions, sets salary range is consistent with that of the business industry not what they want to give themselves! And by the way let’s go ahead and make their insurance consistent with what the private sector business market put out! We’ve got to get rid of all the perks that bring in these criminal asinine fakes and get real people who have a business sense in positions to know how to handle this country. Politicians simply do not work literally and figuratively!

You know better than that. Republican state legislatures have been passing restrictions to voting since the last election.

Excuse me? The only “restrictions to voting” has been to ensure that only qualified people vote. If you can’t certify the people who vote are actually eligible to vote, you get what we got in the 2020 election - thousands of mail in ballots with no evidence the ballots are legal. I seriously doubt this practice is okay with you Tom but if I am wrong, and it is okay with you if non-eligible people vote, I would be seriously surprised.
Hope you have a good weekend. If it warms up here in central Alabama, I’m going to take a ride on my new Royal Enfield!!

All democrat lies that you have bought into or are promoting. These lies are un-American. These measures passed by states are not "democratic". They are however constitutional and fair.

With good reason, We have never been a country of one person one vote. We are governed by the Constitution. Not by the majority.

Gerrymandering..... So far any changing of congressional districts in 2021 has benefitted the democrats more than Republicans. For 100 years democrats have been the kings of gerrymandering. Still are.

State legislators have always appointed the electors according to the constitution and state laws. It is democrat states that are trying to change that with The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which nullifies how state residents votes are counted.

It is not unlawful for any poll workers to pass out food and water. It is illegal for partisan campaigns to pass out food and water to voters waiting to vote. Trying to influence the voters while at the polls is illegal.

The number of voting locations are determined by population density and done by the county, not the state. It was democrat counties that shut down voting locations in certain urban locations such as Fulton and Dekalb counties in Georgia.

The filibuster simply stops a simple 51% majority from dictating to a 49% minority. It curtails tyranny.
