I don't mind the tarantulas. You gotta really piss one off to get it to give you any trouble. My wife HATES em! You know, they crawl around looking all spidery, and stuff!😂 It's weird, they come out in late Summer, and cross the roads from East to West by the thousands around here.
We've also had a couple of horses bitten by rattlesnakes. Both young, and bitten right between the nostrils. We (my wife) had a Corgi who was bitten several times over the years. The last time, he was bitten 5 times on the snout by the same snake. He survived it, somehow. I'll say he was tenacious in order not to dishonor his memory. He was my wife's best friend, protector, and a pain in my ass for 15 years. I miss that damn dog for some reason now.
And what kind of crazy place do you live in where you can't kill a dangerous creature like a rattlesnake?

Live down on the coast in NC, forestation is prolific with a lot of swamps and creeks with all the things that go along with that, including lots of water moccasins that like stay up in the trees. One reason why I don't kayak on the rivers and creeks LOL. I've already had a snake fall on me, was up in the door jam of the porch, I open the door and it fell almost on my head but landed on my shoulder, slid down my arm and slithered away. I was never the same again, when I go for walks I look up.... and down. My freind did have one fall in her skiff and one in her car while she was driving... that would do it for me. She had brought some things in from her barn and put them in the back of her car, well the next day she went for a drive...Jeeez.

Our horse was bitten on the snout too, makes sense as they sniff along picking and grazing. That's amazing for your dog to be Ok, considering it's size.

Tarantulas, yep I think I'm with your wife on that one, I'm glad that's one pesky critter I don't have to worry about.

Wars are good for the economy even though I believe that would be a horrible reason to start one. Very stimulative. Thousands employed,
much manufacturing. Course back in the day the number of enlisted way outnumbered the bureaucrats clerks, lobbyists, desk warriors, and um support personnel. Maybe we need to cut way back on the bureaucracy. Actually an estimated 1.5 trillion in spending is 4% of the estimated debt in ten years. Of course if the economy explodes (stated reason for the cut) then the 1.5 will be recouped. All programs need their rate of growth cut. ALL.From the congressional staffers salary to the President, to every program. You know this. I know this. Anyone can do math knows this. will the politicians kick the problem down the road until it implodes? Everyone knows that answer.

Wars aren't good for the economy, it's the tooling up for a war, now... what if instead of tooling up for a war we tooled up for something else, think of the potential possibilities in that.

Yeah, and still no solutions other than throwing money at it.

Come on now Arch, what I previously posted had nothing to do with throwing money at the government.

We have a seasonal tarantula problem here. Not a damn thing cute at all about em. I guess that's why nobody tries to protect em.

Be One with the Tarantula We have rattlesnakes, illegal to shoot them, one bit my horse, the snake did have an untimely accident.

We have a beach sea turtle issue in NC... they are protected from traffic during breeding season... they are kinda cute for a turtle... thousands of the little buggers heading for the water on the moon tide... don't know about other peoples turtle problems... there should be some way to live & let live unless there is too much greed involved...

I agree ~e, we need to learn to share and respect who we share the earth with... I knew there was a reason I liked you

There is no excuse for any person to act in that manner whatsoever!

I agree with you...absolutely. Goes to show, money doesn't necessarily mean someone is brought up with good manners. There are many things lacking in wealthy households that money doesn't buy.

America has a clear definition of foreigners. It's enshrined in law. Without that definition, every person on the planet is entitled to enter.

How do you propose we manage our borders? Follow the law, let everyone in, or let a dictator choose?

Realistically Dave, I think the answer would be to help them "want" to stay in their own country. For that, we would have to continue to help their countries. In what way you may ask, in becoming a more democratic republics. Where people are allowed the rights we have of life liberty and pursuit of their own happiness, without fear of their own safety or that of their families.

I hope I can find the article I found late last night. Damn I pad. Probably more myself. I'm a bit techtarded. The question asked that gives global warming proponents that 97% scientists agree on man made global warming is generally stated. Do you believe the activities of man add to global warming? The article went on to point out if those same scientists were asked do you think man has a significant impact on the climate the percentage drops dramatically. Most believe man has some impact. Just like trees, sun, wildlife, earth tilt. Many, many factors are involved. You say the true evidence. What's that? Taking a minute sample size, couple hundred years and draw conclusions from a base of billions of years? Mathematicians would scoff at this size sample being used to predict anything. Other factors were brought up that frankly I never thought about.
Many of the temperature reading stations (whatever that is) have had buildings, blacktop and other structures put near them, affecting the accuracy of their reporting. NOAA, has admitted to fudging the numbers on temperatures. In the last 50 years the problem's name has been changed every time when the original prediction didn't happen. Can you imagine what they'd have been saying if this climate change craze had been discussed during the dust bowl years? I wish we could quit worrying about climate change and start working on what we can see. Pollution and dirty water.
I hope I can find the article I found late last ni... (show quote)

True evidence being a collective date from many different sources with a summarization of that outcome.
I wish the same but getting people to argue about it again...prolongs anything getting done/resolved.

Ah, I see your usual come back when you can't debate the facts. What I gave you besides calling Obama incompetent (my opinion) were facts.
Indisputable. You just don't like the conclusions so you go back to your sides usual talking point words or phrases. In this case far right. If you don't want to be called a lemming quit being one.

You want facts, it's called a tax break when we had a war to pay for...FACT. Just as now BTW a big ol tax break when we're in flaming RED. This will be just another excuse to discontinue programs.

Al Gore does.

Did those rhinos go extinct because of global cooling/warming/climate change/climate crisis, or, out of control hunting practices?

Well, that's a valid question Arch, which either one of us can look into. But if you want more valid or credible information on global warming the true evidence is in the collateral information of all of it, which is why most environmental scientist and researchers are in agreement not over some WO conspiracy.

Contrary to your belief I'm fine with people believing what they choose, I am only disappointed when protections are either taken away or not ever installed and nothing ever improves because these things are vital, not only our future but all life and isn't it about time we act as evolved people and not ego-driven egotists who think everything revolves around them.
