There is also a fair amount of resistance to fracking for oil and natural gas.
This country runs on energy. We need to be energy independent and we can probably do that soon. If energy prices are low, we all benefit.

Little personal story on immigration for you.
First week of May, 1968, I was in "zero week" (before basic training started) at Ft Dix, NJ. In the group was a guy recently arrived from Italy. his name was Dominic Tessioni.
I asked him why he left Italy. he indicated it was a shithole run by communists/leftists.
Then I asked him why he joined the army. He told me it was to show his appreciation for the USA.
After a week of being run ragged by the drill instructors I asked Dominic how he liked the army now.
He replied. "I'm a sonofabitch!" <In his best Italian accent. I was ROTFLMAO. So here is to you Mr Tessioni. I hope your stay in America was a good one. Or, is your name on the black granite wall in D.C.
