You are right and I don't care what the Supreme Court says. All the court did was to confirm that all three branches of government are corrupt and criminal. To Hell with replacing it just dump it and be done. These dumber than a tree stump Leftest idiots still in love with the criminal, murdering obama that never did one thing to help this nation, it's people or, it's allies. My cost has over doubled for half the coverage with a deductible that will never be reached. If the government really want's to do something for me they can leave me alone. I don't need government telling me I need to ware a hard hat or tell me to turn off a light. I don't need them to tax me when I get it and tax me again when I spend or save it. If I hadn't been paying into Social Security and saved or invested those funds i would be looking at a good retirement instead of a hand to mouth set income.

If we woke in the morning gained the rights we have lost over the last 100 years we wouldn't know how to act. The 'Affordable' care act was passed the same way the Federal Reserve Act and the New Deal Act. Lie, lie, and lie some more. No one man can clean this abuse up. All we have to do is our duty as American. All three of these bills went beyond stupid to more like high treason. It's always the same 'A bad law if elected we will end it. The last law passed by one party and ended by the other was the New Deal during WWII and how and why they left Social Security amazes me.

The democRats built SS as your personal, private, tax free, saving account,no one could touch, there when ever you needed it. It was Carter that started giving it away to immigrants that never put a dime into the program. Obama used it to build housing for immigrants These are upper middle class homes that have nice new cars in the driveway. It was demoRats that voted to 'borrow' it and have borrowed every dime. It was Algore who cast the deciding vote to tax it. But these wastes of good dirt tell us the Repugs want to steal it and their ban of useful idiots buy every word. Earth to Libtards, Earth to Libtards you can't steal what has already been stole.

Let's go back to 1912. Guess which party stuck around when everybody else was home for Christmas to pass the Federal Reserve Act that has made our dollar worth a dime and can print as many worthless bills as they want. ? Well the US Treasury still prints then. The federal reserve pays for the paper and the ink. It cost about $65 to print a sheet of bills, $1's or $100's. Then the FRB sell them back to the treasury at full face value plus interest of course. You guessed it the democRats.

SO you see the democRats have been trying to destroy the nation as far back as the Civil War. They still even got their slaves AKA voting block all pined up in inter city drug and crime infested hell holes and the democRats like it that way, Buying their vote with your dollar. With traitors to their race as Sharpner and Jackson there to blame everyone but the guilty for their useless life.

true, true and true! but unfortunately, as the person who kept replying that no one knows what they're talking about thinks, the "news" is informing us. the only way to find the truth is to actually WATCH congressional hearings, READ legislation for yourself. then when you do listen to/read the news you realize what a crock we're being handed.

The Supreme Court declared the penalty for not having insurance to be a tax.....nothing more. Premiums were rising every year before the ACA, so they are no higher than they would have been without the ACA. Obstetric is not required of anyone unless they need it and it is not mandated. Educate yourself and stop listening/watching right wing BS media. You're no different than the lying administration in power today who keep dishing out the crap that the ACA is a disaster and is failing.....it's not and the people who have it love it. Why do you think congressmen/women are facing hostile crowds when they have town hall meetings? It's for damn sure the protestors are not complaining about keeping the ACA in place. They're complaining because the morons want to take it away. Get a grip.

Look at everything they take over. They always screw it up, make it more expensive, slower, and when it doesn't work they throw more money at it. When that doesn't work over and over, they create another department to oversee that one.
It seems insane.

yep, that's the democrats for ya. And to be fair, most politicians in general.😉

[quote=3jack]It's obvious you have no idea what the ACA really is or what it does. Insurance companies set the prices for insurance premiums and the ACA specifies what services are to be rendered for those premiums. As far as tax payers are concerned, low income people don't earn enough to pay taxes and they make up the majority on Medicaid, which is for the poor and elderly. You have been listening to too much right wing bull shit media outlets because your post parrots the same stupid talking points I constantly hear from those outlets.[/quote

interesting comment from someone who has no idea what the ACA is. For instance, that the ACA was found to be a TAX by the supreme court, which is the only reason we're stuck with it. And that premiums are significantly higher for those that pay for it, due to things like obstetric care coverage being required (even if you're an over 50 female. As far as the :"poor people" on medicaid that you reference, there is a large population in this country, in case you were unaware, called the working poor, who DON'T get medicaid. What they do get is premium reduction/forgiveness under the ACA. Please educate yourself on these and other facets of this TAX before commenting further on this costful, unmitigated disaster called the ACA.

Seven years of constant denigration against the ACA and they can't write a complete sentence in support of the repeal and replacement of the ACA. Shows the intellect of right wing legislators. I use the word "intellect" very loosely as there is none within that group of morons.

my point was just repeal, no replace. ACA is nothing but a cover to get working (and many times struggling) taxpayers to overpay for insurance coverages they don't need to fund people who AREN'T taxpayers.

Too true, the Democrats single handedly got us into this mess by not doing they're job and reading the damn bill in the first place.

Now it is going to cost us (or our children I should say) another 70 billion, on top of the original 100 billion just to keep the exchanges from collapsing.

Perhaps the problem with the right not getting a bill passed is because they're ACTUALLY reading what is put forth, and aren't dumb enough to pass it, before they know what's in it.

I think the fact that he DIDN'T do any of those things makes him qualified. Maybe he'll just use common sense to SEE the problems, LISTEN to his constituents and REPRESENT them, as is the duty of elected officials. I think that the reason we have such an elitist mess in Washington is that we have so many "qualifed" people there that the common tax payer is held in contempt, and our "qualified" politicians think they know better what to legislate that will affect our lives, though they're so far removed from the average person's daily life it's comical.

It is important to understand that the very act of disagreeing with these people is an insult. To come at them aggressively is tantamount to assault with a deadly weapon. What we see here on some small scale is essentially the collectivist mindset we are fighting in the big picture to preserve constitutional America. There are indeed no 'packs' of conservatives to be seen. There are individuals ... important distinction ... individuals who think for themselves. And importantly, if one takes the time to notice, these individuals do not necessarily agree with one another along any lines. They are however capable when it comes to establishing a point of argument, on topic, and defending it ... as individuals.

Every day is a bad day for the Morgans of the world ... because we exist. Collectivists are emotionally unstable, vulnerable and therefore feel 'attacked' when challenged. When aggressive argument and debate contrary to Leftist Ideology is outlawed; when the Fairness Doctrine can choke the life out of individual expression on the airwaves; when the 1st amendment is weaponized against open expression, only then will the Leftist be placated; but happy? Never.

As for the topic at hand, it's loaded with fodder for good argument. But it seems it was posted not to induce exchange so much as to provide a point of focus for Leftist president bashing. Not unusual.

Hope you stay in the fray, whatever your point of view.

You folks work in packs and the left usually one against the entire group.

To the person defending Morgan from the guy she called "magilla". I'm newer to OPP, and forgot to hit the "quote reply" button, so she curtly told me to do so. Then she responded to another comment I had made with the above. If you look back at the few posts I have made, I don't insult or name call, but try to stay on topic and engage in civilized discourse and debate. I am certainly not part of any "pack", as I don't regularly converse with or know anyone here. I started looking at this chat because I thought it would be interesting. Maybe she's having a bad day? Oh and p.s. to be fair to the "pack" comment, I'm almost certain there are no busloads of conservatives being brought in to participate in this chat🙄🙄

MSNBC rarely does any reporting without a Conservative voice. But you may call that voice a RHINO and disqualify. The polls that predicted Hillary would win fell well within their margin of error. Either without Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton, Trump loses in a landslide. And he lost the popular vote still by almost 3 million. And was in the lower fifth of electoral votes. He was like one of those mathematics anomalies.

what do you mean by "the lower fifth" of electoral votes? It's been quite a while since the election but I thought that he had well over 300. What people don't seem to understand is that the 2016 election was more a rejection of the Obama administration's pie in the sky fiscal policies and bizarre social policies than anything else. What resonated to voters was that Trump was willing to name the problems and promise to get the train back on the rails. I am so sad that this election illustrated how far apart people are ideologically. I look at liberals and think "After all that has happened and is happening what's wrong with you?" and liberals look at the conservatives much the same. Thus the controversy around the MSM, where most got their news for years. People would read something about a topic or event they had personal knowledge about and think "wait, that's not what happened at all." And this has changed from being isolated incidents to being a regular diet of biased nonsense from MSM. When I took journalism many years ago the cardinal rule was to be factual, regardless of your own opinion. Now you actually see newscasters rolling their eyes, making faces and laughing at or otherwise dismissing anything that they don't agree with. And I personally lay that at the feet of lack of personal integrity. If you're in a job where you need to sometimes investigate and report on things that don't fit your own comfort zone you'd think that would be an opportunity for personal growth, not an opportunity to try to pound what you discover into a known and comfortable box.

we're talking about the media, not this chat room..right? if you can give me examples of abc, cbs, msnbc, CNN et al fairly representing conservative points of view I'd be quite surprised. One of the things folks on the media often state is "everyone thinks, everyone does, everyone feels" which is hilarious and insulting, For instance when president Trump was elected the media was declaring "everyone thought Hillary would win"; "everyone thinks this is a disaster" etcetera ad nauseam. And none of them stopped to think how disrespectful and ridiculous their statements were to the millions that voted for Trump. And the saddest thing is that they JUST WON'T STOP. Donald J. Trump won the presidency. If you look at the red/blue voting map by county you will see that the democrats only carried counties containing the ant farms. I wish that the ant farm media would get over themselves and begin to report news instead of "Russia Russia Russia, trump is bad no one likes him, natter natter, natter." Hopefully this clarifies my previous comments for you.
