Mexicans need an ID card to vote in Mexico

Since the 1990s, eligible voters in the country of Mexico (i.e., persons of age 18 or greater) have had to visit an electoral office and be registered into the electoral census in order to obtain a voting card issued by the National Electoral Institute (formerly the Federal Electoral Institute). Those voting cards are government-issued photo IDs, credentials that citizens are required to produce at polling stations in order to vote in federal elections in Mexico.

The United States has no equivalent national voter requirements or voter ID card, however. Some states require voters to produce photo IDs in order to vote, while others don’t. And even the states that do require photo IDs may still allow voters lacking them to use other means of documenting their identities and/or to cast provisional ballots.

These differences are often cited in opinion pieces (like the meme displayed above) questioning why, if Mexico requires its citizens to produce federally-issued photo ID cards in order to vote, the United States can’t or shouldn’t do the same in order to crack down on voter fraud. On the other side, critics of voter ID card plans maintain there are a number of reasons why what is used in Mexico isn’t necessarily a feasible solution or a panacea for the United States:...

Rosie O'Donnell said her "entire essence and beliefs" were shaken to the core after Trump was elected president in her first interview since the election.

The longtime Trump critic told W Magazine she was in "severe shock" when Trump won and went through "a lot of therapy."

"I was in pure unadulterated [shock], as if I had fallen through the ice on a lake; I was underneath the water, and I couldn’t even see the surface," O'Donnell told the mag. "It was a severe shock to my entire essence and my beliefs in the order in the world, and also the PTSD of having been an abused kid in a family."

She added, "I did a lot of therapy."



The 55-year-old said she was in "pure panic mode" the week following the election but is now just "devastated, disappointed, disheartened, and depressed by the reality of it."

The Hollywood liberal said, "I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through" Trump's presidency.

O'Donnell was outspoken about her disdain for Trump during the election, calling him "mentally unstable," among other things. Todays perfect liberal idiom. (Pot calling the kettle black)

I didn't know about that series cuz I never watch T.V. but for years I've said a woman should be commander in chief (NOT killary that thing is not a woman or even quite human) because a woman's attitudes toward conflict are different. Try diplomacy, try compromise, but if you have your back to the wall and MUST fight OBLITERATE THEM. Don't dork around with "limited strikes" or "police actions" go in with whatever it takes, get her done, and get out, with the least death and destruction on both sides. I wonder if any of the other ladies on OPP feel the same?
