I do not agree with you, about 60 percent of healing is mental. If you are uncomfortable with a doctor, then you have every right to ask to see a different physician. And the clinic, hopefully they lied when they said they had no white physicians on staff. She also raised another valuable point, she wanted a doctor who could understand and speak English. If you can not communicate your illness or the doctor does not understand what you are telling them, how can you get a good diagnosis?
This is what happens under socialized medicine. Physicians are imported and put in clinics.... many do not speak English. Canada, 2014 around 31,000 people died (this is just for the year) because of medical errors. Here is a wake up call... since socialized medicine was introduced under the obamacare, the death rate from medical errors went up....9 people out of every 1,000 die, making socialized medicine the 3d leading cause of death in the US.
Could she have used nicer words... yes, could she have just left the facility and gone to hospital as one person suggested.... but, with socialized medicine, you get whomever is available...... and with the policies of hiring just anyone that can produce a diploma.... from anyplace, well she would most probably once again be assigned another doctor who could not speak English. I understand her response.... frustration from not being able to communicate with the "assigned" doctor and fear over her son's illness.... people under such stress say things that ordinarily they would keep to themselves.

Nothing brings out the protective instincts in a woman like seeing her child in some danger or distress, whether it be real or imaginary, and a woman will move instinctively to protect her child with her life if it comes down to it. For her to demand another doctor in those circumstances is perfectly reasonable, and I would support her decision 100% if I were standing there, regardless of her 'perceived' motivation. It speaks volumes about the society we live in where a mother cannot demand a certain standard of care and receive it without being accused of the kind of bigotry she's answering to now. And yes, the standard of medical care has dropped significantly in the last five years or so and that's a documented fact.

"Physicians have become the government’s scribes, using clunky software to record vast amounts of administrative information. A September 2016 Annals of Internal Medicine study found that physicians spend “27 percent of their [office] time with patients and 49.2 percent of their time on EHR [electronic health record] and clerical activities."
That's right, he spends twice as long on the paperwork as he does actually treating your malady. No wonder doctors are quitting in droves.
