Millions of taxpayer dollars on junkets and vacations for his family that have absolutely nothing to do with US business. THAT is the problem. An official state trip to Europe is official business. Spring break in the Bahamas, Mexico and Sun Valley for teenagers on the taxpayer dime is not.

In all fairness, accusing the white Europeans of stealing the Indians land is not always accurate. A good many tribes, among them the Iroquois confederacy, the Lakota and Cheyenne, the Navajo, the Apaches and the Yaquis, obtained their land the same way they lost it: By force of arms. The reason so many Pawnees and Crow fought on the side of the whites is that they had a score to settle with the Lakota, the Cheyenne, and to a lesser degree, the Arikara, The "Lakota hunting ground" was originally property of the Crow and Pawnee tribes, until they were driven from it. The Anasazi of SW Colorado were wiped out, probably by the Navajo. Moving on down south, Cortez did not conquer the Aztecs with 400 conquistadores, he had plenty of help from tribes that the Aztecs had conquered and enslaved, and demanded tribute and sacrificial victims from. Ditto for the Incas and Pizzarro in Peru and Ecuador. There were some tribes that got a royal shafting. There were others who were treated about like they treated other tribes. As I said in another post, excepting the Arctic and Antarctic regions, there probably isn't a square mile of land on Earth that hasn't been conquered from someone by someone else.

That said, the US government has perpetrated some shameful massacres. Sand Creek and Wounded Knee come to mind, and although not massacres, per se, the Trail of Tears, the persecution of the Modocs, and the treatment of Chief Joseph and the Nez Perces were criminal. By the same token, the Iroquois, and the Lakota, especially, don't have a lot of room to talk about mistreatement. People tend to forget some things. The terrible treatment of some tribes tends to make people forget the terrible treatment some of the other tribes gave to other Indians.
