I conclude that this country might actually have a chance to turn its back on its racist history, including slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, redlining, "separate but (un)equal" and try to live up to its ideals, for instance, "all men are created equal."

That was true early on, not because they had Democratic administrations, but because they had big urban centers where people were crowded together and lots of people coming in from all over the world, including some who carried the virus. Now those places have "bent the curve," but the virus is growing exponentially in the rural midwest, especially in places that have big meatpacking plants. And most of those states and cities are run by Republicans.

I didn't know any of those things were part of the Republican agenda. In fact, as far as Big Pharma is concerned, the Republicans are working hard to make it even bigger and to prevent any moves the Democrats try to make to reduce its stranglehold on the healthcare industry.

Your use of "infiltrate" to describe the Democrats' overwhelming takeover of the House in the 2018 election shows your support of free and fair elections. I think we will be able to similarly "infiltrate" the White House and the Senate next year. And none too soon.
