This story seems to have disappeared just as the Russians invaded Ukraine and we've heard nothing about it since. If you Google it you don't get even one link to a story later than Feb. 22, two days before the invasion. It's as if there's a blackout on the coverage of this story. I want to know what happened and why the media no longer feels this story is worth covering. A major event like the truckers' strike shouldn't just disappear off the radar like this.
The now defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) was a communist dictatorship (and became an authoritarian state under Trump's pal Putin). Trump tried to mimic Putin's success with his own Republican Party in the United States. American voters stopped his progress in November 2020. Trump is no Putin. Dopey Trump is still unable to accept his humiliating defeat. Warning: The following article may be too complex for most OPP readers to comprehend. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/opinion/2021/05/10/what-do-republicans-and-communists-have-common-think-socialism/4972631001/
The now defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republic... (show quote)
The quoted comment may be too idiotic for most OPP readers to bother replying to. However, the article you quoted makes an absurd comparison based on the mutual rejection of "democratic" socialism by both the Republicans and the Soviet Union. Just having a common enemy is not enough to make two groups similar. But I guess that's the kind of logic one can expect from a liberal.
