In the early 30's Stalin FORCED collectivism on the people of Ukraine. It weren't done peacefully and was fully at the point of a gun in the hands of the Russian military under Stalin's direction. But:

There still might have been enough food for Ukrainian peasants to get by, but, as Applebaum writes, Stalin then ordered what little they had be confiscated as punishment for not meeting quotas."

This confiscation of remaining food also was not done in a peaceful manner, it was also at the point of a gun in the hands of the Russian military under the direction of Stalin.


So here's the point, I am sure there were some there who were armed but with nothing like the military arms nor in as great of numbers. They might as well have had muskets facing modern military fire power. See the point? This argument that our founding fathers wrote the 2nd amendment with the idea of people having "muskets" and not thinking of the power of future firearms, is utter nonsense. In fact, when they wrote it, every fire arm was military grade, whether in the hands of the military or a farmer.

But the leftists now proclaim that could never happen here! And they are correct but for all the wrong reasons. It couldn't happen here because we are heavily armed and, at least to a degree, with firepower very nearly enough to match that of the US military and in far greater amounts; some 400 million firearms in the US at last estimate. And even with that, looking at the actions of the democrat leftists in power right now, one can imagine them seeing the inevitable upcoming loss of that power and the implementation of martial law in the US to halt further elections. And how would this type of thing be enforced? The only way possible, by the heavily armed military

However, with the US citizenry being so heavily armed, one could make a very strong argument that even the radical leftist anti-constitutional anarchist democrats would not try such a feat due to the very thing that the anti-gun crowd wants; elimination of firearms in the hands of the people. The very things they want to eliminate are the very things which are our tools to remain free of things as horrible as the Holodomor. Elimination of guns in the US would be as stupid and harmful and doing away with the police.
