Political science 101: truth is relative, i.e., the truth is whatever you want it to be and can get people to believe. Would a Republican believe a scandal about another Republican, as readily as they'd believe the same about a Democrat? Probably not, just as a Democrat would more readily believe a story about a Republican.

Being told by people you trust more than others, that Mexicans are taking American's jobs, and you're out of work, you'll blame Mexicans - even if you're out of work because you're a drunk/drug addict. We never blame ourselves for anything, someone else is ALWAYS at fault - so to earn easy and cheap political points - give angry people someone to blame and they're yours.

Americans are lazy, apathetic, entitled cry babies - and the fault lies with ISIS, Muslims, Mexicans, welfare moochers, democrats, republicans..............................................

The state of Illinois and Chicago have very strict gun laws. Yet almost 4000 people including children have been shot since Jan 1. Doing more of what already does not work never has solved a problem and borders on insanity. In south St.Louis recently two black teenage thugs tried ,with a stolen gun, to rob a 73 year old. He has CC permit and shot and killed both of the robbers in his garage. I never saw this on a major news outlet. BLM is trying to persuade the local police to charge the shooter but thankfully their plea has fallen on deaf ears.

Guns are not the problem but the problems are with those that choose to use guns to commit a crime. Perhaps you can remember when car hijacking was an epidemic. Laws were changed to make car hijacking a federal offense with a stiff sentence and car hijacking incidences dwindled. If using a gun to commit a crime became a federal law that carried a stiff automatic prison sentence, this would make a violator thing twice before using a gun to commit a crime. Possession of stolen or illegal gun would also be a federal crime with the same sentence. This worked well in New York in the past, but the liberal establishment has taken the bite out of gun crimes and gun crimes are on the increase.
