You didn't answer my question. Oh, I know the meaning of narcissism, however, a true narcissist usually possesses more to be narcissistic about than you possess. Now go play with your cat.

Whatever gave you the idea that I own a cat? Is this another of your fantasies? You really do need to learn to control your impulses better you know.

According to my father, who was a pilot during WW II, the Japanese had sharpened untold numbers of spears for the expected American invasion. They were armed and prepared to fight to the last man, woman and child. The only thing that saved millions of lives was the atomic bomb, which quickly ended the war in the east and also helped Truman focus on the European front.

Um, actually, Germany surrendered first. The Japanese surrender was the last act of WWII. There was no 'European front' at that time, just a shattered continent full of very hungry and homeless people.

See that? That's you, doing the only thing you have left, calling names. Apparently I'm "pompous and obnoxious". Then you accuse me of narcissism, but you don't know the word for it so you tell me I'm my "own biggest fan".
Hear that? That's the sound of me laughing my ass off. Now please, just go away, hm?

I graciously accept your surrender, ignominious though it is. Remember now, it was your own lie that got this whole charade under way to begin with.

To stay out of foreign entanglements is, first of all, not only not easier but not possible, and secondly, far less safe.

Tell that to our first President. He specifically warned against getting involved in other peoples' squabbles.

That is not how it went down at all. The Japanese Army militarists were running the show, and their expansion to create the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere, directed primarily at China, southeast Asia and the Philippines, prompted the Army militants to demand the Japanese Navy planners to develop a plan to protect their flank from the US Navy fleets concentrated primarily in Pearl Harbor.

The Japanese planners considered their options. One was to reinforce their Naval outposts in the Western Pacific, the other was to eliminate the US Navy threat. The Army militarists forced their hand and gave the job of planning and executing the attack to Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. Although he had misgivings about the success of the attack--limited oil supply was one consideration--and he warned his superiors that a war with the United States could cost them dearly, Yamamoto developed a plan centered upon his own concepts of a carrier strike force. If anyone "goaded" the Japanese Navy to carry out this attack, it was the militarists in the Japanese Army that did it.
That is not how it went down at all. The Japanese ... (show quote)

Like I said, have it your way.

"Tokyo, not Washington, established Japan's foreign policy; the individual responsible for the attack was Isoruko Yamamoto, not Franklin Delano Roosevelt."

I never said anything different. You clearly misread what I wrote. I said the Japanese were goaded into attacking. I did not say that the decision was made for them. My point is that President Roosevelt saw an opportunity to overcome the severe economic problems being experienced by every single American whether young, old, rich or poor. Government spending into weapons of war and the formation of vast armies produced full employment and then some while the best and bravest were sent to foreign shores to fight and die 'for freedom', and they volunteered by the millions because of "a day that will live in infamy". It was set up to go down like that and the Japanese government took the bait; hook, line and sinker.

Actually, if you could make a video and post it we'd all be really happy to laugh at your self-inflicted childishness.[/quote

I have to admit, I was a bit dumbfounded by your attack. It didn't seem to be based in anything other than a rant in lunacy. First, you called me a liar. Then you insinuated that PR put me in my place. I attempted to figure out what PR had commented that you thought so profoundly chastized me. It was but a sentence or two where she implored me to knock it off.

Then you went on from there, something about me suggesting that lies needn't be told. Then you ranted that I didn't back up that comment. Perhaps I assume too much, but anyone who has followed my posts probably knows my position on that subject.

Moving on: you babbled at length that you take the time to analysis this or that before posting. Obviously, you didn't take enough time to analyze before posting that you expose liers from a position of truth, Your position of truth seems a bit faulty, for I'm not a lier.

And my tolerance for truth? Are we to conclude that you're the arbiter of truth? Perhaps in your delusional mind. By the way, you're the one who asked if I was questioning your manliness. That you didn't like the answer, doesn't make it an ad hominem attack. Perhaps the truth distressed you into thinking it ad hominem.[/quote]

Good. Now go back and read over the several entries chronicling our interaction and compare it to what you just wrote. Match point, right there...
Bye.

SO, you say Pearl Harbor was a lie? You are the ignorant one here.
You have no idea what would happen to the world if we were to shut down our military. That fact
says everything about your smarts.

Absolutely not. The attack on Pearl Harbor was very real, and also very expected. The US government had gone out of its way to goad the Japanese into attacking the fleet at Pearl Harbor even to the point of jamming the entire fleet into as tight a space as possible just a few days beforehand, much against the better judgement of the senior commanders at the time.

The whole point was to outrage the American people so badly that they would demand vengeance and that meant joining in on the global racket that was the Second World War. Until Pearl Harbor was attacked, public opinion was decidedly against getting involved; after the attack, over a million men volunteered for the armed forces within a few days.

Remember the Lusitania? Same idea.

Mission accomplished.

Wasn't supposed to be won, just sustained. The longer that awful war continued, the more defense spending was needed to sustain it. Take a look at the current conflicts in the Middle East and tell me that after 18 years the most advanced military machine in the history of mankind is still unable to put a lid on it? Gimme a break. This is being sustained purposely to appropriate literally $trillions into the military-industrial complex. The same setup President Eisenhower warned us of over seventy years ago.

And yeah, I question the manliness of a guy with a cat as his avatar.

You suffer from ailurophobia? Here, let me help:
How To Overcome Fear of Cats
Get a friend to help you. Start by finding a friend who has a tame cat.
Go back to when your fear of cats started.
Pick at your cat phobia. Most of the time, fears aren’t totally rational things.
Use hypnosis to deal with your fear of cats. Hypnosis can help to reduce your fear of cats. Actually, try this first as you seem to be prone to flights of fantasy and a methodical approach probably won't work.

"Protection"? Why would I need 'protection' for speaking the truth? I suppose you could say there's safety in numbers but it never occurred to me that I might be in any danger. Are you trying to cast aspersions on my manliness, my ability to overcome unreasonable fears?
