You seem to forget that Cohen is a lawyer and Trump is not. I know this is above your pay grade, but try and understand, the crimes Trump has been charged with are minor misdemeanors on which the statute of limitations has long ago expired. Bragg is claiming they are felonies because they were committed in furtherance of another crime, which he has yet to articulate. Even if it were true, the crimes would be on a Federal level, and Bragg has zero jurisdiction to prosecute. The two agencies that DO have jurisdiction, the FEC and the DOJ, both declined to press charges because there was no crime in their opinion. This is nothing more than a witch hunt to damage Trump and keep him in court when he should be out campaigning. In the unlikely event he is found guilty, the verdict will be thrown out immediately on appeal. The Appellate Court cannot intervene until a verdict has been reached. In case you're wondering, the prosecutor in the ridiculous Mar-a-Lago fiasco, Jack Smith has quite a record. He got a conviction against former VA governor Bob McDonald, which was overturned by a UNANIMOUS SCOTUS decision because of his prosecutorial misconduct. Given the recently uncovered proof of his manipulation of evidence in the Trump case, another overturn seems likely in the event of a guilty verdict.
