Since you're so concerned about equality and fair treatment, you should also include a brief history lesson re: socialism's eventual outcome. That way, the facts wouldn't be hidden behind a mask.

I have a better idea..how about only democrats pay taxes. Taxes for all citizens to be paid only by democrats. After all, the democrats are the ones always making these so called free programs, doing all the insane spending and putting the USA deeply into debt, and always screaming to raise the debt ceiling....so why not have the democrats pay for what they do? It should be no different than any other responsibility. Why not "own" your responsibilities and pay yourselves for what you do? Why make it for everyone else to pay for what you want to blow trillions of money on?

I hate to inform you, Only, but I believe the repulsives are just a guilty of out of control spending. President Reagan raised the debt ceiling more times than any other President since 1960. He raised it 18 times, for a 67% increase. The US has spent over $3 TRILLION on Bush's wars and Obama has followed his lead. If repulsives and dimwits really cared about the deficit, why don't they cut defense spending? Defense spending cost $718 billion last year, which is 20% percent of federal spending.

The glaring reality is that both dimwits and repulsives are just the left and right arms of the same corporate party and the vast majority of government spending is for the benefit of the "too big to fail' bsnksters and the military industrial corporations.

I for one do not mind domestic spending to help the unemployed, the disabled, the less than fortunate and the elderly (that by the way have paid their dues), it's just that government, both dimwits and repulsives, have stolen their money and spent it on illegal, unConstitutional, immoral warmongering. Corporations, of which dimwits and repulsives are controlled by, are the culprit and the sheople are to blame for continually sending corporate controlled puppets to DC.

So, I say let the damn super wealthy, tax all income over a billion dollars and tax corporations 50% and 50% tariffs on their made by slave labor imports. Since government benefits them more than any of the poor, make the rich and corporations pay for it.

The reasons for increasing wealth inequality aren't difficult to figure out. The decline of labor unions is a major reason for it. Some of the things that unions do are not good but they restrain the greed of corporate CEOs and high management. Without the threat of walkout strikes or boycotts, corporate CEOs go hog-wild with greed at the expense of rank and file workers.
The tax system is another problem. Capital gains and dividends are taxed at lower rates than salaries, wages, and tips. The main beneficiaries are the megarich who get most of their income from investments, not salaries.
Another problem is the heavy reliance on big-money donors by our elected officials. Public officials at both the federal and state levels are too easily bribed by special interests and multimillionaires with deep pockets. So the laws often reflect the desires of the wealthiest and greediest Americans.
The legal profession deserves a great deal of blame. When class action lawsuits are filed against big business defendants, far too much compensation goes to greedy multimillionaire lawyers who charge $500-$1000/hour for the services. The victims of corporate wrongdoing see too much of their damage awards siphoned off by greedy lawyers. State and local governments spend a great of time in the courtroom answering allegations from organizations challenging the constitutionality of various laws. The taxpayer is bilked for huge lawyer fees in such cases.

What an absolute steaming pile of envy that diatribe turned out to be. Is the misunderstanding of wealth so great that anyone could except the premise of this nonsense. Those people with stocks (for instance) are the machine that drives the industries that supply the jobs. They are using their brains and capital to make things. This insane video acts like the wealthy take their enormous paychecks home and sleep on piles of cash fluffed up on the backs of the poor.
What this video is really suggesting is stealing from the rich and giving it to people who didn't earn it, and would most likely squander it anyway. The perfect example is the stupid person who wins the lottery. It's invariably gone in years. Now you want to steal from the people supplying the jobs and give it to people who sit on their porches. Just plain stupid.

The position is controversial — so much so that TED is refusing to post a talk that Hanauer gave on the subject. National Journal reports today that TED officials decided not to put Hanauer's March 1 speech up online after deeming his remarks "too politically controversial" for the site...".

He is a talking head. Second Avenue Partners is his baby, and are telemarketers, they ring up a selected group of individual and try to sell us their plans on how they can better spend our money. He fills in on talk circuits aimed at "self help" and he is paid well. At the end, after the tapes stop rolling.... you hear, and the books of Nick are available at a reduced price for seminar attendees.

Wow, Anonymous. What a scary graph. And the end quote of the narrator was: "The reality in this country is not at all what we think it is."

Now ain't that the truth!

What wealth was he measuring? "The top 1% owns 50% of all the bonds and mutual funds." "And the total worth of the nation is $54 trillion."

"Bonds and Mutual Funds" ? Oh, your 401K plan? What about the rest of the wealth he did not include on these graphs?

He forgot to tell you he was only tallying the Stock Market, (mostly invested in the Fortune 500), not the total assets of the American economy which covers 22 million proprietorships (that's small businesses), plus private property, houses, farms, land, cars, boats, etc., which equals the other 75% of the US economy not counted or even mentioned on your YouTube drama!

For better figures on the US economy, please review the John Rutledge Report. http://rutledgecapital.com/2009/05/24/total-assets-of-the-us-economy-188-trillion-134xgdp/
Total Assets of the U.S. Economy $188 Trillion, 13.4xGDP by John Rutledge

Of course, this report is a little outdated, 2008, before the Democrats got hold of the economy and dumped Obamacare on small businesses.

The annual GDP is only $15 today; the total net ASSETS of the US economy equals about $200 Trillion, not including Federal lands, (worth a quadrillion). Wall Street represents only represents $54 Trillion, according to the YouTube graphs. That's $54 trillion out of $200 trillion in US assets, plus another unmentioned QUADRILLION dollars owned in Federal Lands.

In other words, Wall Street financial investments = 25% of the wealth and the other 75% of the economy rests with the other 22 million proprietorships and personal assets.

The greatest wealth lay in the untapped resources under government land holdings, where the Bureau of Land Management holds 50% of all US lands. Nobody is even talking about the BLM holdings! That is socialism.

That's where the wealth is, some quadrillion dollars in federal lands that should be returned to the states for better management, and this is not the national parks.

If you want to get rich:
1) Iinvest your spare change in the stock market instead of in booze and dope.
2) Start up your own business.
3) Turn off the inflation machine, the Federal Reserve Bank funny money press that keeps devaluing the buying power of your dollar.
4) Cut government spending by passing the Balanced Budget Amendment.
5) Return Federal lands to the States for better management.
6) Vote the Democrats out of office.

Oh, the greed and envy card is being played by the commies once again. Good Grief!
Grow up guys, and get educated. My blood is boiling. These Democrats are lying to us.
