By now I'm sure you're aware of the flag controversy that occurred at the University of California-Irvine, where the student government voted to ban flags, including the American flag, in student government offices. The American flag was also termed "offensive." Perhaps, it just wasn't "politically correct" enough to suit the progressive (communist) Liberal student government. Anyway, thankfully, a higher student body vetoed that measure, but the debate over the American flag at the University of California-Irvine still isn't over.

Imagine. Banning an American flag from student government offices in an American university on American soil where the professors and the administration are paid with American tax-payer dollars? Imagine, in short, banning an American flag anywhere in America! But, it's happening.

If that isn't outrageous enough, now, in Portsmouth County, VA, Sheriff Bill Watson says he's furious after a group of judges told him to take down an American flag display he received as a gift from members of the Portsmouth Fire Department.

Watson requested that the display be mounted on the wall in the lobby of the courthouse, but was told by the judges: "Not only do we not want it on the wall, we don't want it in the courthouse."

Watson said that he couldn't believe that these judges didn't want to display the American flag in a courthouse; he said it was the most asinine thing he had ever heard.

The judges told Watson he could have the American flag display in his office, but not in the lobby of the courthouse which, according to the judges, was not the appropriate place for the American flag. I'll repeat that. Not the appropriate place for an American flag in an American courthouse? First the Bible goes, and now the American flag. Can you really believe this?

To finish the story, Sheriff Watson told the local news that he plans to display the flag in the window of his office. He also said that he would rather go to jail than remove the American flag. Kudos to Sheriff Watson.

I suppose, the way things are going, and considering the present staff and administration in the White House, the dictatorial Islamic-favoring powers that be in America will never be happy until the flag of Islam is flying over the White House and Shariah law is installed in our courtrooms.

As for me, I'm going out tomorrow to get a great big American flag to hang on my front porch (the last one finally succumbed to the Southwest winds) and another two to fly from my car and my truck. I'm also sticking bumper stickers on my car and my truck that I support Israel. Enough is enough. But, I know, it isn't going to stop there.

We're in for a rough ride, patriots. I will, however, stand firm all the way for my God, the American flag, and my country. All true and patriotic Americans must unite against the socialist/communist/Islamic assault and invasion of our once great and God-blessed nation.

We have always flown the Flag at our home..For as long as I can remember it waves bright and is filled with love and honor..My Father made it a point to teach all of us how to raise and lower it as well as fold it....I can not image the asinine things being done in the spirit of PCBS to our Flag..

Hi, lindajoy. I remember, too, as a child, how we carefully folded the American flag both at school every day and in Girl Scouts. My father, a World War II vet, is very proud of this country's flag, as well. We always had a flag flying at our home as I grew up. They will play hell telling me I can't display it, too. I'll wave it in their face as they cart me off to jail if I have to!!! What on earth is this country coming to? Keep flying that flag! Bless you. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe it will open their eyes, if they have a head left with eyes to see with. I love our American flag and love the freedom that she stands for. And you're absolutely right. What made this county great was the people that was in it. NOW IT'S JUST A CAGE FOR EVERY FOUL BIRD. I'm not a flag waver, I waved my flags while I was in the Navy many years ago, but you are right, it is outrageous. The American flag is a symbol of our country. Many good men and women died under that flag while fighting for our blessed land. When my grandfather came to America in 1911, from Russia, he cried the first time he saw it. I really believe that any American that wants it banned should find a country where its flag doesn't offend him. Any student from another country that can't respect " Old Glory " might be happier studying in another country. Any college administrator that can't defend the flag from a bunch of misguided kids, should reconsider his career choice!

Not only the sheriff, but the American people. We are the true rulers of our nation and when we stand together we can do great things. We need to start rallying our people and begin a campaign or change from the top down at any cost. It doesn't have to be violent. I see no point in fighting violence with violence. We can start by peaceful demonstrations, withholding funds from campaigns, get the word out on social media and in the newspapers telling people what is really going on. How about a mail campaign, use the federal government postal system to tell people the truth! Most people are working 2 jobs and taking care of family and don't even pay attention to what is going on in the news. How about the radio. Everyone listens to the radio. We need to inform people and get together to demand change and get rid of our current political leaders and many in the Government. Then lets get rid of all the illegals and anyone who refuses to assimilate to our great nation and what it stands for. It is time to become American again, fly the flag freely and go back to invoking God in public and praying. I could never understand why we cannot pray at a meeting or in public. If a person does not believe in God, then just down pray with us. Why are my rights denied, so that an atheist or a Muslim can have their rights honored!
