I'm waiting for Al Gore to comment before I decide.

Speaking of Algore, I heard some people on Fox News talking about Al running for President next time since Hillary seems to have grabbed up a mouthful of dirt lately. I wonder what becoming President would do to Algore's personal annual income. He wouldn't have enough time to add to the Earth's pollution with all that flying around if he lived in the White House.

Getting back to that egg discussion I want to tell my story here. When they were getting ready to dismiss me from the hospital where I had been able to get a 6 by pass heart surgery a lady came in my room claiming to be a nutritionist. She was the most wonderful woman I had ever seen since she laid out all the things I could eat and allowed as how I could have 7 eggs per week. My wife had had me on 2 per week besides what she cooked with for years and I plugged up almost completely. I questioned the 7 and she said eat them all at once or 1 at a time just stay below 8. I have done that since then, usually staying below 5, but it has really been fun eating my fried eggs.

Of course, they put me on expensive medication (about $100 per month, my share) but my cholesterol has remained low and a recent heart cath showed me in very little trouble.

I love them eggs and have found in the last 10 years that that nutritionist must have known a bit more than most of those who wanted to do away with chickens.

My VA nutritionist told me the same thing, and I enjoy eating my quota every week. Since I raise laying hens, it has worked out well for me...allowing my giving quite a few eggs still to my elderly neighbors. I never eat my chickens, but give roosters I raise and don't need to others for eating.

I think some may be missing the point I was trying to make - admittedly not well done. The science of nutrition is probably not as complex as the science of global climate change - and it probably has more people doing more controlled studies. Yet for years the nutritional scientists were virtually unanimous in citing eggs as a major cause of heart attacks - until new information debunked that theory recently.

Yet, on the far more complex science, with far less controllable variables, we're being told the subject is closed, the consensus of scientists have declared man made global warming and have depicted the specific impacts on much of planet earth. Gore wants to punish deniers - who can I punish for the years of avoiding one of my favorite foods?

There is a profound difference between the two. Scientists really did believe that eggs were a danger to human health. Gore, on the other had, never believed that man made global warming existed. It was always a way for the State (government) to gain more control of the people by controlling more of the economy. Much the same tactics with the same exact end game goals is used to promote Obamacare. Those promoting both are just using their lies as a way to control our lives and make us more obedient little subjects of the government dictatorship.

I understood what you were doing from the beginning but I was given my egg reprieve in 2005, several years before enough scientists had determined they were wrong about them. I am just glad that that the woman who gave me mine was in that heart hospital at that time.

Lets broaden this topic even more by me saying that when Algore sends someone after me for being a DENIER I will certainly try to put some of them out of their misery with a gun. Sorry.

Point well made in both cases. Add to that the claim that there is a "Gay Gene" which even the researchers denied when they published the findings, but the LGBTQ crowd preaches as gospel truth. Amazing what you can do with lies repeated enough times, isn't it?

Well, repeating lies to the point they are accepted as truth has been the mainstay of the Republican party for some time now. Not that it's any less so from most politicians whatever their party.

People will say anything to get what they want, and most people are just too lazy to question them.

What fools would argue against the scientific fact that eggs will build up your cholesterol, clog your arteries and kill you? The argument is over, the FDA has made its recommendations and all but a few mavericks deny this scientific fact - until....

Perhaps you heard of another science lesson. A teacher brought three jars into the class. One was filled with whiskey, one with tobacco, and one with chocolate. He dropped worms into each one and covered them up. The next day he uncovered them bdefore the class and all the worms were dead. He ask the class if they learned anything. One student raised his hand and said, "If I drink whiskey, smoke, and eat chocolate I will not get worms."

Dave,
You forgot to mention fish, red meat, processed meats, cheese, fast food, fried food, desserts and dairy products.
A more disturbing fact is all of the foods that contain HFCS, which is found in most processed foods, soda, canned fruits and vegetables, corn, ice creams and desserts.
HFCS is not properly digested by humans, our bodies aren't capable of processing the substance.
This is the leading cause of diabetes and obesity and the negative impact is far greater than cholesterol in diseases and strain on healthcare costs.
An egg is far less dangerous to your health than a can of soda.
On top of the direct health dangers, the fertilizers and pesticides used in corn agriculture leech into streams and watersheds that pollutes the water and causes algae blooms that destroy ecosystems all the way into our oceans in a path of destruction.
Corn and other crops have been geoenginered to the point that seed from only a few years ago is incapable of cross pollination of today's crops.
Now THAT'S SCARY! so quit pickin' on my eggs...

Here's an interesting scientific fact for you...all of the cholesterol in your blood was produced by your own body.

truth is that studies are showing that the FDA does not know much about anything. Free range chickens and their eggs are not really bad for you. The same goes for grass fed beef. Beef is bad when they are fed fattening grains and injected with hormones. otherwise it is not too bad.I have beef several times a week. Also if cooked without fattening oil, or better yet without oil, it is even better. Pork on the other hand is bad for you, because the pig is fed fattening foods. Grains are actually not good for you, even whole grains. You should get your fiber from vegetables. Vegetables have all the nutrition a person needs when they are grown organically. It is the pesticides and gmo's put into them that kill anything good in them. Many studies out there showing that vegetables and some fruits can prevent and even eliminate cancer and heart disease. But because we cook our vegetables to death in water, we lose most of the nutrients. People should avoid sugars, flour and soy also. The pharmaceutical companies control the FDA. They don't want you to know you can prevent disease by actually eating your vegetables. They lose too much money that way. I have a great set of grease and water free cookware and I am not on any medications nor am I ever sick. I haven't so much as had a cold in years and I am in my mid 50's. I do not take any vitamins either. I get everything I need from my food.

Dave. It has been my experience that the posters who are participating in this thread are really pretty smart people.

Since your point is obvious even to liberals (who are chirping over on left field as I write this) -- most readers probably got it.

Rather I think folks are playing with you just a bit.

Good post though... You got them clucking . (me too I guess)

Carry on.

Do you have enough acreage to graze upon and what did you plant which you find the most satisfying -- Rye or Alfalfa?
