Hate to tell you but yes it was going on in the 70's but to a much lesser degree. After Nam I spent 15 months at Cubi Point, Phillipines. several attacks on the Naval magazine area, different name but the same cause. Nigreatos hated them and would hunt then down with US help.

The problem we have is that half this country is nuts. You see them all day going around talking to themselves on the street of any major US city. I was the night manager of a large security company, and when I went out to check on some of the guys it was always interesting to hear what some of them was seeing at night on some of the very lonely and isolated post. One of them was the bay and the security guard reported to me he seen the "The Beast of Revelation coming out of the bay with the ten horns and seven heads and the whore of Babylon riding on its back. He did not have his gun because it was unarmed post.. The only we only weapon he cold fine was rocks. The beast disappeared after the first rock. Another night he was visited by the image. Same cause ? What are you talking about ?The HUKS and assorted rebels have been causing problems in the Phillipines for over 70 years . The recent incidents I mentioned are where Americans are doing the damage to Americans visa-vis derelections of duty ,and on American soil, where we control all of the logistics .

When you have to produce so many bodies and you have won the low bid contrast cost is everything. Clients want quality but do not want to pay for it. When one gets a contract requiring 30 low paid employees. You take just take who you can get. I was the assistant manger of a large security company' We give them what they paid for good security with high quality guards is very expensive. If they want bodies to cover their insurance requirement, We provided them bodies some with mental problems, seeing visions and carrying guns in some instances. If security clearance check are contracted out to private company being check by minimum wage worker that have no skin in the game what do they give a damn if they are fired minimum wage jobs are a dime a dozen. You get what you pay for. People do not work for patriotism they work to put food on table. As George Washington said patriotism is a very temporary and ephemeral thing.

I am not an expert, but a common thread with people losing control and becoming suicidal and homicidal, especially those who want to commit such a terrible act, is the use of psychotropic drugs. Either they are on them, or have recently been removed from treatment.

My opinion is that we have these drugs prescribed way too often and we fail to see the effects they have on people, making them unstable and dangerous. They are too easy to prescribe, too easy to get, and they are an easy way out for the medical staff and probably over-prescribed. The willingness to give our kids Ritalin for example when they are just being kids is a sign of over use.

Whether the person was on these drugs is not always announced, but I have seen mention of it in relative's or friend's accounts too often.

There has to be something to explain why otherwise normal and happy people go this crazy.

You are so right. Why? Didn't he just leave or kill himself. Maybe we don't as a nation put enough emphasis on the merits of suicide when a nut is about to go on a killing spree. Maybe to much emphasis on cry babies, woe is me and getting even. If Aaron was not happy with America then, he should have hung around another two years, he'd really have grounds to be unhappy.
