This is mean, but when I worked for DISA, we had a very nasty employee. No one liked him. So, we did the expected thing and planned and executed a farewell party, no one showed up except that employee. There was a note, signed by each of us telling him how glad we were he found other employment. The day after he departed, we had a party. Everyone attended and had a wonderful time. His name came up on occasion where someone would recount a particularly nasty thing he said or did, but no one wished he would return. About two weeks later, he called me and asked for a letter of recommendation, to which I ask, sorry who are you......

First allow me to welcome you to OPP. Most people would not be celebrated for leaving, but this person is so special to so many that we feel it necessary to celebrate his departure. I do not see that any of us are angry, we are giddy with the notion of civil communications with civilized individuals.
