Ha ha, the Obama's recent vacation in Maine cost less than ONE trip to Crawford. And Bush took more than twice as many vacation days as BHO as of this date, even in the latter part of his 2nd term when the economy was in freefall he went to Crawford at taxpayer expense; cost of transportation for him, the Secret Service, his retinue; cost of housing and feeding the agents. When Obama went to Maine, his housing and meals were provided by his own funds. He took a little over a week, Congress is on a 5 week vacation. He is back at work while Boehner is golfing.

You neglect a number of things in your somewhat skewed version of things. First, most of this cost is operating Air Force One. How much did Obama's numerous trips to Hawaii cost? close to 20 million. When Bush went on "vacation," he was mostly working, and stayed at places he already owned. Mind telling me how much money Laura Bush spent on sunbathing in Spain, skiing in Aspen, and shopping in Martha's Vineyard? Michelle Obama spent at least 4 million dollars of taxpayer money on vacations that have nothing to do with business. Not to mention separate vacations for the kids, bringing the whole cost of Michelle and the kids to at least five million dollars. That's five million more, over and above the Hawaiian vacations. Bush went to property that he owned. I haven't noticed Tovarisch Obama taking any vacations in Chicago, where he owns property. Bear in mind, the 100 million dollar Africa trip. Clinton did it for 42 million. You will also note that Bush was in office for 8 years, Obama has pretty much equaled Bush's expenditures in five and one half years.

The comparison was for "up to this point" in their terms.

Obama's accomodations are not paid for by the taxpayers, nor are meals.

The recent Africa trip was not a vacation. The cost was estimated to be $60-100 million, and of course you used the higher figure. Since Clinton went, fuel costs have skyrocketed, and other costs have gone up substantially.

Presidential trips are expensive, no matter who is in office. You folks look for anything to critisize Obama. Why not mention the fact his new dog cost $1400-2000, and is black. Yes, some righties actually complained about the fact the First Family has no white dogs.

How many multimilliion dollar vacations have they had since the sequester anyway? I know they vacationed in Hawaii, I know they took a trip to Obamas home country Africa and received a less than friendly welcome there, They just went to Martha's Vineyard for a nice time there. Meanwhile back at the ranch the average citizen is getting put on part time because of OIllegalcare and can't afford a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. average citizen are lucky if they can take a trip out of town on the weekend. Oh that's right school starts soon and they have to buy school supplies cancel the weekend jaunt and stay home. They have to stay inside their budget.

That leaves 2041 days that he was actually in Washington or 5.59 years out of eight. I wish I had a job where I only had to work not quite 70% of the time.
