Howdy WC!
I'm trying to understand the crickets? I need some help here.
 :?:
Buenas noches señor RK,
It was my error in assuming that the sound of crickets was internationally understood to be an inference of resounding silence in the place of applause after a performance.
You so diligently prepared your topic and performed it's submission superbly only to see it remain unanswered all the day until my lowly response.
I did glance at the subject matter and once I discovered that it was related to the professional sports industry I realized that it was a topic that I am purposely ignorant of.

Buenos días señor WC!
As you can see, it was clearly my ignorance showing, not yours. I have learned something today though, from someone wiser and kinder than myself and most of the other users on OPP. You made the effort to provide me soothing words and in your humbleness, I will exalt you to such lofty heights, I fear your nose may bleed.
I would never try to lure anyone to professional sports unwittingly, I had selected college football as the domain for détente on this sometimes terse filled forum.
The truth of the matter is, that I wanted to separate the wheat from the chaff, lovers of the SEC and, Tennessee in particular, from all the posers.
The Lord said,
"'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'" and so, I do!
As a small token of His reward to me while I still am donning this mortal coil, God created football. He already created Saturday and, we all know the reason why now. Then He said, let there be the SEC, so that all men can marvel at my greatness. He saw what He had done and, was pleased with what He saw. You have to understand that, all of this I feel are my own divinely inspired words and, none of them can be found in the bible. I fear most believers would have just skipped the book of Rock, even if God had given me one and, He didn't want to see mankind purposely sin because of that.
You are guilty of no sin my friend, for your knowledge is only exceeded my your wisdom and expression of brotherly love toward a lone peacemaker, who will continue in his folly until after January at least. Or, whenever the National Championship game will be televised, whichever comes first.
Adios and vaya con dios!

Just made my picks for next week. I wonder how badly I'll do.

Considering your exceedingly poor taste in professional football, your luck will end shortly. :D :-P
RAVENS!!

Ravens!? Oh, you mean those little chicken-hawks, huh. Aren't they a junior high school team?
If the QB Locker can stay healthy, by that, I mean, if no one looks at him cross-eyed and he turns into a pile of wet spaghetti, again, the Ravens will rue the day they play the Titans!
The Titans haven't been the same since Coach Fisher was fired. Now, look at how St. Louis is doing!
How's that for confidence in one's home team? :XD:

Hmmm....I have a spaghetti sauce preparing. :-P :D
Big mistake by the Titan's organization, which just goes to show their questionable abilities.
Confidence is good....when there is little else available. :-D :-P :) 8-)

It's too bad, AuntieE, that we're not neighbors. I'd like to compare spaghetti sauces with you. I have it on the upmost authority that mine is the "world's best, bar none!" Of course, those on the judging panel are my wife, son and 2 granddaughters. To say they're not prejudiced would be lying.

One would hope you would not waste your
"world's best"on any
Titan players.
UncleE and ProgenyE enjoy mine. I have no idea, as I do not eat pasta. I make it for them. I toss stuff in, let it cook a couple of hours, throw it over spaghetti, add a salad (for which I am famous throughout my neighborhood) and call it dinner.

Yum-yum!, When do we eat!!!
You got me hungry just talking about it!
My sauce is made from scratch from a recipe my dad used, that he got from his mom, after he married my mom, and that my mom could never make as well as my dad could. Confused? I am!
So, growing up, anytime we had spaghetti at our house, my dad made the sauce. My dad passed-on in '93. I've made the sauce since, and I think it's even better, now. No brag. Just fact. :D 8-)

It is not confusing at all. Your Father knew what the sauce was supposed to taste like, hence his ability to better replicate it.

You only say yours is better because the judges like it. Your wife is going to vote for it, because it saves her having to cook one meal. Your so is just playing along for free food. Grandpas can do no wrong. Having said all that, it probably is great. Family recipes always change but are still the best.
Vegetable soup is my winter speciality, ten quarts at a time. The neighborhood does, Triple S parties; soup, spoon, sandwich. I do the soup and spoons. The others do the sandwiches. Before you ask, yes, we use bowls; however, it does not sound as fun with the B in the initials.

Veggie soup must be a "wife's thing." My wife make WONDERFUL veggie soup, too! My winter specialities are are chile and fudge. OMG!!!!! Like the 40's song, "Shoo Fly Pie" goes: "...can't get enough of that wonderful stuff!"
Again, I wish we were neighbors so we could compare and taste each other's recipes.
Okay, I'm hungry again, that's to this discussion!

Hi there ab, I was wondering how ya did? I got a bad mark too. Best report card we ever got right? :XD: :XD: :XD:
My picks were made so early in the week, they have an inch of dust on them. I think I will smoke the picks and go for all wins today. I prayed in all earnest before, during and for days after I made my selections. I only messed up once last week, God is perfect, just wait and see!
What a blessed and happy football day!
