What you're claiming is that Zelensky is acting like Putin? Ukraine was invaded. Putin controls Russian media, but wasn't invaded. Putin doesn't need to suspend elections. He just kills his rivals, but he wasn't invaded.
Zelensky called off elections, after Russia invaded for several reasons.
First, one-fifth of Ukraine is under Russian occupation.
Second, about one-quarter of Ukraine’s citizens are either refugees within Ukraine, refugees outside Ukraine, or prisoners somewhere in Russia (assuming they’re alive).
These first two reasons make it extremely difficult to conduct an election that international observers would certify as fair, accurate and not corrupt.
The third reason is that Russia, as a matter of strategy, deliberately targets large gatherings of civilians, and their missiles can reach to every major city in Ukraine.
Historically, this is is not unusual. England suspended elections for about ten years during WWII.
The travel ban was/is needed due to the difference between the pool of recruits in Russia and Ukraine. And again is
historically not unusual.
What is not historic is maga's support of Russia. The pre-maga Republicans stood for American values and, were patriots who recognized Russian aggression as a threat to freedom and stood firm against it. maga stands for trump.
