Trying to get my grand daughter to eat healthy food is a challenge --so I gave my simple Cabbage rolls a Russian name to make them sound cool . Separate the leaves on a whole cabbage put them in a stock pot 2/3 full of water . Cook them down till they are limber .---Do not throw out the cabbage water ----Mix 2 lbs of ground chuck (for the fat content ) with 1 cup of uncooked white rice . ----Roll a oblong ball of this mixture about the size that will fit in the palm of your hand when you close a fist . --put that in a cabbage leaf and roll it up . --repeat until you run out of material .-- Take you a slotted spoon and place them down in the cabbage water --You do not splash .--- turn up heat to medium -- add 1 quart apple cider vinegar . In about 80 minutes or so they are done . use a little salt to taste . Grammas cabbage rolls .
