Con-man definitely. But the most talented ones can remember the lies they tell and who they tell them to for a lot longer than he can. Consistency in telling a lie is helpful for any thief.

One of the most evil instances of its use I can think of is this lie about Zelensky and his 'yachts.'

It makes no sense. Why would the man want them? When does he have time to use them?

And yet, not only is this is a common reason the GOP House gives for sitting on their hands and allowing a free country to be taken over by an authoritarian dictator - the base has taken the bait hook, line, and sinker.

Putin is a monster who is willing to assassinate political rivals rather than run against them in a fair election. The Ukrainian people are willing to defend their freedom to their last breaths.

It pays to be friends with Zelensky: How $75m yachts reveal the huge and sudden wealth of the Ukrainian leader’s inner circle
NOVEMBER 21, 2023
In the heart of Eastern Europe, where the tumult of war clashes with the allure of Western support, a seismic scandal unfolds, casting a long shadow over Ukraine’s leadership. President Volodymyr Zelensky, once seen as a beacon of hope against corruption, is now ensnared in a scandal involving the alleged purchase of two luxury yachts, “Lucky Me” and “My Legacy,” worth a combined $75 million. This lavish expenditure, facilitated in the opulent settings of Abu Dhabi and Antibes, starkly contrasts with Ukraine’s dire war reality and raises damning questions about the integrity and criminal liability of its leadership amidst heavy reliance on Western aid.
Journalist Shahzad Nasir, in a revealing video exposé, has brought to light a scandalous facet of corruption within the Ukrainian leadership at the absolute highest levels:
Boris and Serhiy Shefir, emerging from the same roots as President Zelensky, have risen to prominence and power. Born in the same city as Zelensky, Kryvyi Rih, they share a bond that transcends the professional; a camaraderie rooted in shared experiences and a collective rise to prominence through the “Kvartal-95 studio.” However, their proximity to power and recent indulgence in lavish lifestyles, amidst the grim realities of a nation ripped apart by an unnecessary war, a war provoked by Ukraine via its master in Washington, raises grave questions about corruption and misallocation within Ukraine’s elite. This ostentatious display of wealth, in stark contrast to the country’s dire needs, highlights the troubling nexus of personal enrichment and power in Ukrainian politics, where the welfare of the nation is seemingly secondary to the luxuries of the few.
Appointed as the first assistant to President Zelenskyy in 2019, Serhiy Shefir’s deeper entanglement in Zelenskyy’s covert financial dealings soon came to light. Investigative reports by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project unveiled Shefir’s pivotal role in managing Zelenskyy’s offshore network, spanning the British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, and Belize. This web of deceit, exposed by the Pandora’s Archives, revealed Shefir as the clandestine custodian of Zelenskyy’s wealth, executing high-value property purchases in London. Notably, Shefir acquired a lavish three-bedroom apartment on Glenworth Street and a luxurious two-bedroom flat in Chalfont Court, totaling over £3.78 million ($5.78 million). These revelations, too significant for even Kiev-aligned Ukrainian media to ignore, underscore a staggering level of corruption, implicating the highest echelons of Ukrainian leadership in a scandalous misuse of power and wealth.
As Ukraine endures the horrors of war, with over half a million lives lost in an unnecessary conflict, the populace struggles for daily survival. In stark contrast, their leaders, basking in luxury, exhibit an alarming indifference. The yachts “Lucky Me” and “My Legacy” serve as a poignant emblem of this leadership’s blatant disconnect from the nation’s suffering. At this pivotal moment, Ukraine faces a crucial decision: embrace democratic ideals and tackle corruption, or persist on a path where power and luxury eclipse the urgent needs of a nation in agony. This choice will not only dictate Ukraine’s future but also mirror its dedication to the democratic principles it professes, amidst a climate of contempt and apathy from its rulers. Reports like these fuelling righteous anger don’t bode well for Zelensky as he clings to power amid swirling rumors of coups, underscoring the volatile and uncertain nature of his tenure.

Did you catch the "alleged" in front of "purchase?"

Yacht sales are tracked. As of December (2 months after the article you posted) both yachts were still for sale.

Putin is a thug but at least he is a leader. Which is something America is currently lacking!

Would you really rather have a thug in the White House for 4 years than a weak leader? I would not. Give a thug some power and he'll take more and more until suddenly the country is imploding and anyone who disagrees with that thug better keep it to himself if he doesn't want to find himself in Siberia (or maybe Guantanimo Bay or perhaps Alaska, if the thug is in the WH)...
...or worse. Remember Navalny.

A thug can be held in check. Biden could not even meet the standard as a weak leader on his best day! We are currently trying to survive his total lack of leadership. CA, MI, MD, IL, CO, DC and NY are closer to a Gitmo existence. You obviously are a city cave dweller and have never been to AK. Alaska is beautiful and is Americas last frontier.

Your idea that Biden doesn't lead or hasn't led is without merit. With a zero seat majority on the Senate (dependent on the VP as the tiebreaking vote) he managed to get no less than four major bills passed during his first two years in office. He leads in ways someone like Putin will never understand. That's what decades of diplomacy and knowledge of how Congress works will do.

Explain how a thug like DJ is going to be held in check if he regains the WH - now that he knows enough to "fix" what he knows he would need to in order to consolidate his own power as president.

Who is going to stop him, and how? The MAGA Republicans who put him there? I think not.

Does NotMAGA stand for Not Much American Gets Acceptance?

You write fairy tales better than Grimm. "With a zero-seat majority on the Senate (dependent on the VP as the tiebreaking vote)" That does work out to be a majority, Hoebama is a democrat.

"he managed to get no less than four major bills passed during his first two years in office." That put us how many trillion in debt and with very little accountability for the money that funded his pet projects and cronies.

"He leads in ways someone like Putin will never understand. That's what decades of diplomacy and knowledge of how Congress works will do." This dumb "F', biden has been on the wrong side of every foreign policy decision for his entire miserable career. Afghanistan, Israel, Ukraine, Iran, OBL for starters. And you are wrong, Putin understands. It is called weakness! That is why Russia, PRC. NOKO, Iran, Hamas are all acting up. The recognize the void in America leadership since the 2020 election.

"Explain how a thug like DJ is going to be held in check if he regains the WH"
There is a balance of power that is written into that pesky document called the Constitution that you democrats despise. Executive, Legislative and Judicial. That is how our government is supposed to be held in check.

You certainly don`t have to be sly to put a coherent sentence together that Biden has so many problems doing. So trying to maintain peace in the world is being sly?? And you know Trump`s IQ, his knowledge of history and the Constitution - HOW??

Good job

I'm not even going to respond to your first comment - it was total opinion with nothing to back it. Not even a news link unless it's from a site so far right wing that it would serve your purpose: the spread of more propaganda.

biden's brain is half fried and the other half is in the oven at bake until it smokes. If you don't realize that, you are dumber them millie and not just nasty. Your sick side mocks Trump all the time. Makes biden fair game. And getting information from a far right site doesn't make it wrong. Just Right and therefore more right then the wrong that is found in your sources.
