Preferably with the flame off and the gas on.

I've worked the construction trades in Florida since the seventies. It is the sub-tropics here. It's apparent once you step off a plane in August that it's a bitch in summer. So, go back to where you're comfy, and get a job in 7-11.
O.S.H.A. recognizes the weather here and it IS a problem...many people can't handle it. But many can. Those that can, DO.
Those that can't, type notes from air-conditioned basements whining about it. Snowflake.

I too worked construction in Florida from the seventies and you are SPOT ON!!!

I did roofing in New York ( not the city), and summer heat on a roof can get over 140 degrees. I know, I put a thermometer in the shade up by a chimney.
Where was OSHA then ??

Because safety may interfere with business.

Why isn't this surprising?

Of course abbott and desantis spend their time in air conditioned offices and SUV's

They were in air conditioned offices provided by the very workers they were supposedly protecting coming up with more ways to drive up the cost of a starter home and put it out of reach of the average tradesman.

The Spanish have a pretty good system to beat.summer heat. Approx 1 or 2 pm they shut down everything and come back about 4 pm to finish up their day.

I work in the field of workers compensation. Heat related injuries and deaths are one of the most common claims especially in states where the temperatures reach the sustained heats experienced in Texas and Florida. Contractors who do not provide shade and water breaks are the fools. The cost of the claims that ignoring those hazards will incur will amount to twice the cost in increased premiums than the cost of a ten minute break and a paper cup. What it shows, though, is the utter contempt for people who work that is held by both of the bastards who signed this disgusting legislation.

The truly stupid are those who believe that abusing those who they have sworn to protect is the best way to fulfill their responsibilities. If you feel that protecting the state's workforce is a bad idea they you belong in the gaggle of douche bags that support the Big Orange Rapist.

Kill or maim those who are doing the work to keep food in the grocery stores and then bitch about food costs. Don't worry. You will not be asked to join Mensa.

Were you forbidden from coming down from the roof for your 8 hour day? How about water. Were you allowed to drink water? Did you have to bring your own from home? If you answered "yes" to any of the above you need to find a different contractor to work for. The one that you have now is a felon.

Yeah, that's what we need, laws from 100 years ago. Let's see how that works for Arizona with their "new" abortion laws from 150 years ago. Do you think that the morons who though that one up will be getting reelected without the vote of any women? Unfortunately, many of the ag workers can't vote. Maybe that's why the scum bags are targeting them.

No, to all your BS questions.
I can spend as many or as few hours on any project.
And drink whatever I want.
I am the contractor.
And if somebody like you asked, KMA.
