The truth about voter fraud

Looks like there are many stories about voter ID fraud that are just stories without foundation or merit.

Whenever a candidate loses, the easiest explanation is "voter fraud". Case in point, the republican primary in Mississippi, Cochran, the incumbent beat McDaniel, the tea party challenger. So McDaniel cries "voter fraud" and wants to overturn the election. Watch for similar events in Kansas and Michigan republican primary results.

We have seen elections stolen here in WA State ie: Gregiore vs Rossi 2004 and it was obvious that it was done at a more organized level than what could be protected by voter ID laws. My biggest concern is what is going on with the illegals being imported that will be a tool for the Dems to exploit

That is simply Confirmation Bias. You decide what you want to believe and you look for supporting evidence. Even if that one case is not voter fraud, does not mean that there is not legitimate voter fraud. Would you get refuse to deal with other crimes if you found out that someone lied about an incident involving a crime?

If there is no such thing as voter fraud why it such a great issue to avoid voter ID cards?

We need some sort of ID to: cash a check, apply for a driver license, apply for a credit card, file for unemployment, apply for social services, etc.

I actually support voter ID. The problem is that there is no national standard, so each state can set their own.
Some states write laws that infringe upon the constitutional rights of citizens. These laws get challenged in the courts and are usually struck down.

What is the solution? A National ID, that no state can make more restrictive? Tamper-roof with either finger prints or retinal scan? There are plenty of possibilities, I think most conservatives would argue that is "too much" big government. Most liberals would complain about about "too much" government intrusion.

It is much easier for both sides to whine and complain, but never do anything to solve the problem

Much easier
