Something to think about Permy. If you can. The record stock market news comes right after Trump's historic landslide win in Iowa and his ever improving poll numbers. Investors bet on the future and it's looking much better because we will soon be rid of the stumble bum that currently claims to be president.

I think it was mostly due to the treasury allowing rates to go down a bit, the rumors of another short term funding for the government and one thing more was mentioned.. and of course, I did not pay much attention and can not recall what it was..

Did not check but I think trumps % win was a bit less than feared..but a factor? no, do not think so..

Stock market today: Wall Street hits record high following a 2-year round trip scarred by inflation

NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street returned to record heights Friday to cap a punishing, two-year round trip dogged by high inflation and worries about a recession that seemed inevitable but hasn’t arrived.

The S&P 500, which is the main measure that professional investors use to gauge Wall Street’s health, rallied 1.2% to 4,839.81. It erased the last of its losses since setting its prior record of 4,796.56 at the start of 2022. During that time, it dropped as much as 25% as inflation soared to levels unseen since Thelonious Monk and Ingrid Bergman were still alive in 1981.

Even more than high inflation itself, Wall Street’s fear was focused on the medicine the Federal Reserve traditionally uses to treat it. That’s high interest rates, which press the brakes on the economy by making borrowing more expensive and hurting prices for stocks and other investments. And the Fed rapidly hiked its main interest rate from virtually zero to its highest level since 2001, in a range between 5.25% and 5.50%.

First, I am registered as an Unaffiliated voter so I have no rooster in the ring.

Gold today closed at $2,030.00 If things are rosy why is gold still going up? Each of us pick and choose the articles that fit our biases. I am recently following Lina Petrova, CPA. She seems to be one who tries to present facts without a tilt toward either major party. Here is today’s article: https://rumble.com/v4830bx--shocking-14-gain-in-americans-finances-reported-as-debt-distress-hits-reco.html

The last paragraph of the AP article in your article is about rising interest rates. Rising rates will lock many American’s from being able to get a mortgage to purchase a house. One of the things that made America different from the rest of the world was the ability of the returning WWII Vets to secure loans to purchase houses and raise their families in their own homes. I have already read articles about many young families who find it cheaper to rent than to take on a mortgage. How sad for the American Dream.

Joe knows it is coming. He has already headed for the basement. He will sit on his tush until election night. He thinks it will be like the first time around. He is going to get an ass whipping and He will wonder what happened? The only way he can win is through dishonest methodologies. I hope we will be ready for them this time. I believe the American People have enough of the Biden Crooks. They will get the Lead Boot up their, excuse my French, asses and shown the door. That will be a Glorious Night for America.

You’re right its not new but the degree we have now is unprecedented and he facilitated it.

I still pray he makes good decisions for our country but I’m usually disappointed. We need someone new.

I went back, and looked, and my electric bill is about 40% higher this year than it was last year. Groceries....don't even want to talk about that.
Insurance rates...car insurance went from 140 something a month to 220 something a month with no violations, no claims, no nothing. Homeowners is the same.
A co-worker of mine went to the ER a few weeks back, and it was flooded with people who don't speak English, so he was made to wait. Turns out, he was having a stroke once they got to him.
He now has Bell's Palsy, and can't come back to work.
But, hey. The illegals left with free cough syrup, so that's a win. Right??

Just, please, explain to me how Joe Biden has made my life better.

In detail, if you don't mind.
Convince me to vote for him.

=============
Deceptions! This is temporary, and it is seasonal. It is the result of the busy year-end holidays of Dec. 2023, business activities. Financial statements are now being measured for all businesses of all kinds. At present all private companies using the calendar basis, are preparing their year-end financial statements. Accountants are busy finalizing their year-end financial reports for the IRS and how much tax liabilities they are going to pay for the calendar year ended 2023. And how much growth are they presenting to the stockholders.

This is a political stunt and temporary. Powell tried to lower interest rates. Lowering interest rates has many positive results. They are aware of this. But prior months, for 3 years, Powell had been consistently raising borrowing rates. But the inflation never subsided. Temporarily, the inflation has gone lower but not to benefit consumers on almost all essentials like food, medicine, heating bills, and the daily needs.

We have to remember that year-end 2023, the National Debts have risen to $34 trillion. And the Credit Card debts of consumers have now grown to more than $1 trillion at the rate of 29.99%. Check your credit cards, it is growing even when paying a portion of it. Because of the high interest rates. You'll never end paying your card for years to come. You are buried in debts.

GDP as of year-end 2023 is $26.4 trillion. While our national Debts of $34 trillion. This means that Joe Biden expended 22% more than what was earned or received in 2023.

Biden will be leaving to the next administration the highest National Debts. When the US Treasury rates gets higher, the annual interest incurred to the $34 National Debts also gets higher. That means we grow the debts faster. Approximately interest rate accrued to the national Debts will be about $650 billion. This is added to the debts, if not paid annually to the creditors who hold our debts. China, Japan, and various other banks, and private companies who invested on that US Treasuries.

The US Treasury of Joe Biden is currently bankrupt.

Biden’s polling lower and lower all the time. Inflation is up again and that’s not taking into account the specific costs Americans are really feeling in their pocketbooks already.

His supporters wish to give another four years to a very cognitive challenged man who can’t even find his way off the stages, who refuses to take a cognitive test, who has opened our borders allowing another 10 million invaders to come sponge off our taxpayers.

How low America has gone under his very weak lack of ability to lead.
