To set the record straight I do like cats...and I share my life/home with multiple cats. What makes you live with 4 and despise them

About 25 years ago I lived out in the boonies and one morning there was a calico cat in my barn eating my tuxedo cats food . I thought she belonged to one of the neighbors .--- Well 3 days later she had a batch of kittens so I went looking for her owner since she was wearing a collar . No body claimed her . Kind soul that I was I let her stay on . Nobody wanted free kittens either . BY the end of the year there were 30 cats roaming my place including half a dozen pregnant females . I had to call in a government trapper to get rid of them . People who dump stray cats are the vermin we need to punish .

I like chickens but outside of possibly a Chinese meal, I’ve never eaten cat.

In 10th-century Japan, cats were so revered that only members of nobility could own them.
Felines were kept in pagodas, often used to guard priceless manuscripts.
Furthermore, the Chinese Song dynasty (960-1279 AD) also favored cats as pets.

Interesting, still not sure why cats would be so special though.

I had cat and rice in Japan once. It wasn't bad at all, until I found out what it was.

I have more of a problem with hawks. 7 off the original 70 i had.

A hawk hauled off one of mine yesterday. We are fairly lucky...we have "free range" chickens, and they must lay enough eggs away from the coup to satisfy most of the ground predators...ever once in a while a hawk wins and we lose one.
