That decision for Speaker is only for the interim till a permanent Speaker is elected.

Trump is NOT dropping from the 2024 race.

I'm not so sure! You should read Breaking Biden. He presents a great argument for why Biden might be re-elected if he doesn't completely give up the ghost before November 2024. There are forces at play none of us are aware of.
