Mathew 16, 13-20 ?

But I agree that Jesus is Priest, the One Who Gives Sacrifice. The ordained priest at mass is acting in Persona Christi.

Peter became Bishop of Rome. And was crucified. Upside-down.

Yep, politically unfavorable to the ruling class, just like Trump.
The concept of Jesus went on to become one of the most successful ad campaigns in history, right up there with God, Moses, Allah, and Obama.

I would say Jesus is THE most successful campaign in history. People crave Truth.

But satan is a close second. People also crave sin.

Good and evil. People need the contrast and the support of good, because sometimes evil can look good too.
It's all for preservation of the species.

Jesus is not a priest, He is God. There are no more sacrifices due to Jesus death on the cross.
Hebrews 10:20 describes the way we now access God the Father, through Jesus, our atonement. Priests are not currently needed.
And I don’t believe Peter was ever the bishop of Rome, neither was he a pope.

Accolades and hierarchy were established long after Peter and the succession of Christian leaders.
Who else would improve the speed of altar boys better than a priest chasing them? Better than a track coach.

Yes, Jesus' death on the cross was done once, for all. Jesus is not sacrificed again during mass, rather it is the receiving of the Eucharist that enables the communicant to be one with Jesus at His Sacrifice, like traveling back in time and place to that day on Calvary. As well as every other place and time, dwelling within Him Eternally.

Jesus Instituted the Holy Eucharist on Maundy Thursday. The Last Supper.
