proud, I am a gun owner, but more important, I am a grandpa. The majority of Americans are clearly against selling military assault style weapons with large capacity magazines, to anybody that wants to buy one. These weapons belong on a battlefield not in a school. I believe that these weapons should be taken off the market, in order to save innocent lives especially children. Other laws that could stop the sale of firearms to ex convicts, and mentally unstable folks.
I have no problem with ordinary citizens owning firearms, as long as they are kept out of the wrong hands. It seems to me that the entire Republican Congress, as well as many Democrats are too fond of NRA campaign contributions to ever take meaningful action unless we hold their feet to the fire.

Ofra Ben David, Sick or evil people do kill, but they kill a hell of a lot with guns, especially military style assault weapons like the AR variety. These guns are not designed for hunting or any other legitimate reason. They are designed to kill as many people as possible, in as short an amount of time as possible.
I think the best weapon to defend a home is a shotgun. I own a pistol for defending my home, and I sometimes used to sleep in my car in order to get a good spot on a head boat. Since my Congregation was threatened by some far right wing nut case, my Rabbi has asked me to be armed as part of a security team.
Isn't it a damn shame that some people are so hateful that they threaten to shoot up a place designed for peace and prayer?

a semi-auto AR15 "looks like" a "military style" weapon,
therefore an AR15 IS an assault weapon.

Even if guns were illegal there would still be shootings. If anyone wants to purchase one they are on the black market everywhere and easy to obtain. That won’t solve a thing.

How about highly trained retired, former or even active police or military who live in the community get offered a small stipend to volunteer to provide armed security in the schools their children or grandchildren attend. It shouldn't be hard to get a pool of a dozen or so each working part time to provide good coverage.

What do the Colorado Springs,Denver,Aberdeen,and Nashville shooters have in common? They all identified as trans or non- binary. Your side demands we worship them as being brave and special, they are victims from people who disagree with their lifestyles and deserve to be punished/ killed for their intolerance of their choices.
