A course on African American Studies is too "Woke" for Republican DeSantis. DeSantis says "why don't we just do and teach the things that matter". Does he really mean "Black lives don't matter"? DeSantis loves to repeat the all-purpose "Woke" slur against efforts to advance inclusion and racial equality in the education system in Florida. Apparently the College Board disagrees with him.
Remember when the left were wanting to ban Tom Sawyer and other classic works like To Kill a Mockingbird??
The books in question here are simply not age appropriate. Would you want you 12 year old indoctrinated into gay sex acts????
I know of absolutely no gay indoctrination being taught to 12 year olds in grade schools. I do not want to believe kids are going to turn Gay from text book teaching. At the same time I don't want to see gangs of teenage hoodlums roaming around looking for queers to beat up .

My wife and I were watching Will and Grace with our kids when they were 12 and under. We never worried about it. I guess when you're secure in your sexuality it's not an issue. BTW, both my son and my daughter grew up to be straight just like their parents. Not that it would have mattered if either of them went gay. We would would have loved them no differently.
You people and your hangups... no wonder why you're so angry all the time. You folks need to chill.
My wife and I were watching Will and Grace with ou... (show quote)
We'll "chill" when the Dems are no longer in power!
In my experience I find the opposite to be true.. When it comes to knowledge I can't be content to given only limited knowledge so as to know only what those in control want me to know. I wish to see the entire picture and form an opinion of my own rather than the opinion of the limited information status quo . That is what I see is wrong with banning books and certain subjects.
Exactly Tom, if anything, they should be read and then discussed, this is how critical thinking is cultivated, while building independent thought. When people don't have a strong sense of how they've come to their own conclusions, they then follow, with not educating themselves fully on an issue. Marxism socialism and communism are a perfect examples.
