I watched my mother progress through Alzheimers. It took her a year from the time she needed assisted living arrangements until the end. She passed away in June, so it's very fresh in my mind.
And now I am seeing what happened with her once again through Biden. He has all....and I mean ALL .... the classic symptoms of the disease. She had the "thousand yard stare" that he has often. She would be speaking and lose her train of thought and had to change the subject to continue on because she couldn't remember what she was talking about. Biden is doing that now...and has been since he started his term.
The other day he had to skip two major dinner events at the COP 27 conference in Europe where he was expected to give short speeches. I honestly believe it was because he is experiencing what is known as "Sun-downer's Syndrome". That is when an Alzheimer patient gets agitated, paranoid and almost panic-stricken right around the time the sun goes down at the end of the day. I think that might have been why Biden was unable to attend those dinners...they were right at about the time that Sun-downer's usually occurs.
Another thing is his inability to understand what he is reading on the teleprompter. He reads it like he's reading from a second-grade primer...speaking the words without understanding what they mean. This is demonstrated when he reads things out loud like "end of paragraph", "wait for clapping" while he's reading the speech that was written for him. This is another major symptom of Alzheimer's
Typically with this disease, the person languishes in a kind of limbo until towards the end, when they quickly spiral downward to the point of becoming immobile and mute. It was pretty quick for my mom...a matter of only a few weeks that she went from that "limbo" place to her death.
I feel like I'm watching what happened to my mother only a few months ago, all over again as I watch this poor man stumble and bumble along, making a fool of himself everywhere he goes. It's hard to watch.....again.
