This song was written by John Lennon during a period where he was becoming an avid Marxist. It was written to put a positive spin on and subliminally push Marxism. In a nutshell:
No one above/below us = classless society.

No religion just the state as a deity.
No borders = one world government.
Although its a pretty sound it hides something vile and the uninformed readily lap it up.
