Also, the government's been trying to get the documents Trump wrongfully took, for several months, and Trump (_and_ his lawyers or whoever's working with him) failed to comply all that time with the requests and subpoenas.

So now finally there had to be this "FBI" entrance ("raid") because there was no other way they could get the government documents back. Trump would have dragged his feet about them to h*ll and back. Or flushed them down the toilet the way he did with other documents.

Now some Trump-supporters are saying the FBI planted things

(though, it is said that the search was watchable (recorded?) on closed-circuit TV cameras, and the implication is that if there were planting then it could be detected and proven by what the cameras saw);

but:

one commentator suspects that the Trump team _expected_ there'd be something like an FBI raid and _prepared_ a set of documents for them (the FBI) to "find" which would _not_ incriminate Trump.

I have two cherished friends in Kansas (I live in California) whom I met when I started college. I thought they thought the same as I did. More than 40 years have passed and now I'm surprised because they both believe any wild conspiracy theories just because they find them repeated on the internet (or maybe Fox News, I think). I think it's because Kansans don't tend to get good news, and don't know what news and information they're missing.

One of them was recently talking to me about a public figure and he said almost nothing about her except that he called her a bad word three times! This is not the same admirable intellect I remember he had. But I know he's a worthwhile person inside because I remember what he was like before.
