Some legal experts report that Trump could have possibly violated five Federal laws based on evidence presented by the Committee: Conspiracy to defraud the government; Witness tampering; Wire Fraud; Inciting a rebellion; Obstructing an official proceeding. Four major defense strategies might be (1)Insanity (2) Blaming Others (3) Trump believed his claims and (4) Used the words "peacefully and patriotically" once during one of his speeches.

Like most Americans I am against an individual who attempts to overthrow his own government in a futile attempt to stay in power after losing an election. The Jan 6 Committee focused on former President Trump's efforts to stay in power in the final weeks of his presidency. I think the Committee did an excellent job in showing Trump was the catalyst that brought the mob to Washington, DC. The hearings have been a stage for Republicans to wage an internal battle over the direction of the GOP.
