I know a lot of people here are gun nerds - but 19 children and 2 adults have just been killed in Texas. And the lawmakers there are totally responsible for it.
Let's face it... Common Sense Gun Laws are NOT a threat to the 2nd Amendment. Not one of them are preventing me from owning the guns that I have, or using them for recreation or self-defense. Not one.
I'm a pretty good shot too, so I don't need a high capacity magazine to try over and over and over again to hit the target. I can defend my home with my 12-gauge just fine and in liberal California you DO have a right to shoot intruders on your property.
The ONLY reason why Texan lawmakers are passing laws to combat common sense gun laws is because the NRA owns them and the NRA wants to provide a profitable market for gun dealers and manufacturers. It's that simple.

The individual criminal is responsible.
Exactly what 'common sense gun law' do you think would have prevented the incident?

Common sense dictates that had those lawmakers allowed qualified teachers to be armed and protect those children things may have turned out much different. Apparently those "common sense laws" did not allow the teachers the right to self defense or the defense of others.
Any time I hear "Common Sense Laws", in and of itself a totally meaningless phrase, used to describe a preferred ideology it usually indicates just the opposite of common sense.

Really? It's not SUPER obvious to you?
OK, let me explain how...
1. The shooter went into a store last Wednesday and purchased two assault rifles with high capacity clips, BECAUSE Texas lawmakers passed legislation to prevent any common sense laws from banning the sale of these weapons. So, yes... The law makers did actually enable the sale.
2. The shooter took those guns to school and murdered 19 children, two adults and injured many other children. If not for the Texas lawmakers he would not have had the weapons to kill that many children before being taken down.
To all those gun twats reading this and trying to come up with excuses - there are none. So don't even bother.
"Oh, but he could have killed children with a rock." ... Not 19 of them! Do the math!

So exactly what do you think an "assault weapon" is?
Let's be clear on what you are wanting to ban......

When did banning any gun keep it from being obtained by a criminal. If he had not used these he would have used something else.

The "Teacher's Union" removed the "common-sense gun laws." They're a communist organization whose members hate the NRA.

That is SUCH a lame excuse. The individual was obviously a psychopath... So should the world just stand by to let all the psychopaths do whatever they want and just say it's their responsibility? Should we have let Osama bin Laden continue to kill Americans because well, it's HIS responsibility? Maybe give your statement a little thought because it really is a stupid thing to say.

ANY law that bans high-capacity assault weapons - DUH!
And before you get into that IDIOT argument that banning high-capacity assault weapons won't stop people from killing - we already KNOW that! Every advocate of gun control KNOW this - so stop acting like you're the only people that can figure that out. What common sense gun control laws aim to do is take the "mass" out of mass-shooting. If the shooter wasn't allowed to walk in and buy high capacity assault weapons the numnber of children killed may have been one or two.. maybe even six... but it would not have been 21 people!
Is there any other part of this very simple situation that I can help you understand?

Already posted... Did you really think I wasn't going to be able to answer? A six year old could have answered this one. So, are you folks really that stupid or are you just playing stupid?
It’s people like U straightUp, that make bad things worse .You are so bought into this woke bullshit. You are a sheep. Have you ever really read and studied the Constitution? You throw worded firebombs, with no Proof. I will fight for your right to say STUPID things, even though this statement by you is very dumb. Do you really think if we got rid of all guns ,it would stop the killing? There were lots of warning signs about this very troubled person. As with shooters in the past. Why no REAL HELP ? Don’t blame Texas or our lawmakers . Look at your own state at all the HARM YOUR SO CALLED LEADERS ARE DOING. If you are RICH then ok but if not then eat grass and die! Educate your self to what’s really going on, if you dare! Most people like you can’t handle the Truth!!!!!!! All the best

I already covered that because I KNEW someone was going to bring this one up. Not that it's hard to do... You folks really only have a handful of really stupid arguments and you've been using them for decades so I've had plenty of time to find answers.
So, like I just said... Yes, a person suffering f rom mental illness can pick up any weapon that's handy... Bit do you really think he could have killed 21 people with a baseball bat or even a shotgun?
Go fish Ronald.
