I understood the crematorium were for the Russian dead, so they wouldn't shock the good folks back home with all of the body bags. I doubt they have enough capacity for dealing with dead Ukrainian civilians.

Cover up of what? Ukrainian separatists shot down a civilian airliner with missiles provided by Russia; and then the missile launchers were quickly spirited back to Russia.
